Beautifully maintained resort. Room was clean and well maintained. Employees were friendly, professional and very helpful. The private beach was amazing - - great location, equipped with comfortable loungers, and great service. CHEERS to the management and employees for a wonderful experience!

Feb 07, 2026Beautiful Property, Mixed Experience
I have mixed feelings about my stay at Mahogany Bay Resort & Beach Club, Curio Collection by Hilton. Overall, the property itself is beautiful and well maintained. The grounds are lovely, and it definitely has the potential to be a really peaceful, upscale resort experience. I also really loved the way they decorated my room for my birthday — it came together perfectly and definitely made me feel special when I arrived. That said, the service was unfortunately inconsistent and below what I expected from a Hilton Curio property. Outside of the great experience I had at the Pool House restaurant and the wonderful ladies at the spa, I didn’t find the staff particularly warm or attentive. I often waited a long time for drinks at the bar, even when the resort wasn’t very busy. One uncomfortable moment stood out at the Dirty Martini bar, where the bartender commented on the price of my earrings, told me hers were expensive, and then stood directly in front of me, staring at me, no additional conversation while I drank my cocktail, which honestly wasn’t very good. It felt awkward and unwelcoming, like she wanted me to finish quickly so she could go back to sitting and scrolling on her phone. That interaction really left a bad impression. Another downside was the lack of soundproofing in the Keeping Suites. If your neighbor plays loud music, you will hear it — in my case from around 8pm to 3am, which made it difficult to rest. I was also disappointed that I didn’t get to experience the Beach Club, which was one of the main reasons I chose this resort, because the water was too rough the day I planned to go. Understandably outside of the control of the staff and resort. Despite all of this, I surprisingly feel like I would stay here again — but not in the Hilton portion. I’ve met several people who stayed in the Airbnb section of the property and absolutely loved it, so I would consider that instead next time. The location is also not too far from the busy part of San Pedro, which is why I chose it, as I wanted something quieter. However, next time, I may ultimately choose to stay closer to town for better overall convenience and atmosphere. Overall, beautiful property with a lot of potential, but the service and guest experience didn’t quite live up to expectations for the brand but I still made the most of it and had a wonderful time in Belize celebrating my birthday.

Best service staff
Kimberly Garcia, Mr. Gilmore and Miguel were amazing every time we ate at the restaurant there Kimberly went above and beyond in her duties while taking care of us on my wife’s birthday she brought her out a piece of cake with happy birthday drizzled in chocolate syrup just because she knew it was her birthday and I can’t say enough about service like that!!!! Mr. Gilmore and Miguel were just as great every time we would dine with them! And the chef himself came out to discuss new menu options with us and him and his staff did not disappoint at all the food was amazing! When I came back this will be the only place I will stay!

The warmth is the staff not the sun
The warmth of the Mahogany Bay Resort doesn’t come just from the sun and warm sand, the concierge, Lovenia Budna, shines with her warmth at every interaction guests have with her! Lovenia welcomes every question about the property and about seeking advice on excursions as the most important question of the day. I already miss her saying “ have a wonderful day Jo!”

Will be going back
Loved this resort! Easy check-in, attentive staff, and clean, inviting accommodations. It shares property with time-shares and apartments, which worked seamlessly. The private beach was definitely the highlight.
