Fighter teacher of trampoline ,paddle yoga ,pole dancing was the best instructor during our lovely holiday here its my second times in the dominican republic but lopesan is a fantastic resort i recommend it .i will be back for sure.

This is a really nice property, with nice rooms and plenty to do, but it could be so much better. It’s a relatively new resort so everything is pretty nice, the food at the non-buffet restaurants was better than I expected for an all inclusive resort and the staff, for the most part, was very accommodating. I would definitely pay for “Unique”. My wife and I upgraded the next day and, while you really only get access to one extra restaurant and 2 extra pools, it was worth it. We ate breakfast and lunch everyday at the Unique restaurant on the beach because the buffets are crowded. They have a nice buffet but also do made to order eggs / smoothies for breakfast and will cook pretty much whatever type of meet you want for lunch. You also don’t have to worry about running out of towels (more on that later). The wine room next to the French restaurant is great and they have some reasonably priced wines. If you buy a bottle and drink it there they’ll bring you a really nice cheese / meat / bread board. Now for the challenges, capped off by an odd interaction on day 2. #1 - We weren’t “Unique” on the first day and we were told they were out of towels (they give you cards to exchange for towels) and to come back in 20 mins so we couldn’t do the pool or the beach that afternoon. The very next day, I attempted to get towels (with the cards) for my adult children and were told they were out again (at 11:30 a.m.) and to come back in 20 mins. This clearly happens frequently but you don’t have to deal with it if you’re “Unique”. #2 - It’s really hard to get dinner reservations at a decent hour - if at all. What’s odd is the restaurants always seemed to have some open tables. We weren’t able to get into the Italian restaurant. #3 - My daughter had her nails done at the spa and her experience was not good as the nail tech cut her numerous times without apology. #4 - Unfortunately, some of the guests feel the need to leave their cups / trash / etc around the beach chairs and pool and it is not picked up in a timely fashion. There are also vendors on the beach that can be annoying but this is pretty common if you’re on a public beach. The concerning part is the gentleman that walks the beach daily with a Louis Vuitton cross body attempting to sell drugs with the casual “you doing, good?” approach. I’m not sure why security doesn’t ask him to stay away but again, it’s a public beach. #5 - The odd interaction was when I was walking through the adult side of the Atlantico buffet looking for my adult son. I was approached by an employee in a red polo that asked me what I was doing. I said “looking for my son” and without warning, she grabbed my wrist and turned it over, presumably to check my band. I’m not sure why this would even be necessary, I’m clearly over 18 and I’m wearing a bright orange “Unique” band so I’m allowed to be there. She let go of my wrist and walked away without saying a word. There was a server standing nearby that witnessed the entire exchange, she looked astonished, and just shrugged her shoulders when I looked over at her. Not sure why she felt the need to grab me instead of asking me whatever it is she wanted to know but, needless to say, it was bizarre behavior. All that being said, we had a really nice time. The resort just needs to tighten up in a few areas.

Paradise at Lopesan
Just a paradise. We bought Unique upgrade and it was so worth it: we mostly used the unique pool and it was sooo much calmer than the infinity pool. If you don’t like loud music and parties at the pool it’s definitely a plus to upgrade to unique. I found unique buffet better than the Atlantico one, even though it was smaller but the food was tastier and once again a lot calmer, because there’s less people there. If you upgrade unique you also have separated beach and your own butler (shoutout to José, he’s been very helpful and nice). The beach is perfect, seagrass cleaned everyday, water color is just gorgeous. Lots of boats at the beach but it wasn’t a problem for us. Staff at Unique buffet was just so nice, always greeted us with a smile and even taught us some spanish words :) All the restaurants were amazing, but my personal favorites are Inari and El Asador.

- AdvisoryLopesan Costa Bavaro does not accept Spring Breaker Groups. From February 1st until April 30th, person under the age of 22 years must be accompanied by an adult (23+) in the same room. Rooms with guests under 22 years will be denied at the check in (ID Check) and guests will be responsible for finding their own alternate accommodation.
