Fantastic Stay at Lopesan Punta Cana – Outstanding Service from Ismael Santos!
We had an amazing stay at Lopesan Punta Cana, and our vacation started perfectly thanks to Ismael Santos at the front desk. From the moment we arrived, everything was handled smoothly and professionally. Ismael made the check-in process seamless and stress-free. He clearly explained everything we needed to know; how to make restaurant reservations, where everything was located, pool hours, beach access, and helpful tips to enjoy the resort to the fullest. He was welcoming, patient, and extremely knowledgeable. After a long travel day, his warm and friendly attitude truly set the tone for our entire vacation. The resort itself is beautiful and very well maintained. There are plenty of restaurants to choose from, offering a great variety of cuisines, so you never feel bored with the food options. The pools are spacious, clean, and there are multiple areas whether you want something lively or more relaxing. And the beach view is absolutely stunning ; soft sand, clear water, and the perfect place to unwind and enjoy the Caribbean atmosphere. Overall, everything exceeded our expectations. Exceptional service, beautiful grounds, amazing beach, and great dining options. We truly felt taken care of from start to finish. Thank you again to Ismael Santos and the Lopesan team for making our stay so special. We can’t wait to come back!

I would find a different place to stay on my next visit to Punta Cana. The food is barely average here but edible. The rooms have a "mildewy" smell and our had drainage issues in the sink and shower. I called for a late check out the night before and was told I had to come down to the front desk on the actual day of checking out to make that request in person. ( I'm sorry WHAT??) The night entertainment was good and the place is beautifully decorated

Lopesan Costa Bávaro Resort Spa & Casino – Honest Review We just returned from our stay and I waited a few days before writing this to reflect and give a fair opinion. For the price you pay, it’s important to know both the positives and the negatives. We paid $7,000 CAD for one week (Adult Only package), so expectations were high. The Good • The property is beautiful. Modern rooms, stunning reception, gorgeous pools and landscaping. • Most à la carte restaurants (that require reservations) were good to very good. • Timon Bar staff and a few restaurant servers were genuinely kind. • The young man at the breakfast omelet station was by far the friendliest employee we encountered — always smiling and welcoming. • The saxophone player was incredible. Easily the best entertainment of the week. • The resort cats were adorable. The Not-So-Good Layout & Size The resort is massive and poorly laid out. Expect to walk a lot — and get lost. Bring proper shoes. Finding the Boulevard area (shops, coffee shop, theatre) was confusing and far from our room. Room Design In our two-queen room, the shower/toilet/sink area is fully exposed and the first thing you see when entering. Very little privacy in a shared setup. Housekeeping comes at random times during the day. Adult Only Package This is still very much a family resort. Adult Only does not mean child-free surroundings. The adult pool is small with limited chairs, and “Unique” guests also use that area. Chair saving is technically not allowed but not enforced. If you want a decent spot, you must claim it early. Towels sit unattended for hours. Service One of the biggest disappointments. Many staff appeared unhappy or uninterested. Smiles were rare and asking for anything often felt like an inconvenience. There is a noticeable language barrier, as many staff speak Spanish only. There were exceptions, but overall service did not feel warm. Food Buffet: below average. À la carte restaurants: mostly good. Valley Restaurant (no reservation required): worst food and service of the week. You must book restaurants two days in advance through the app. Beach Small swim area. The ocean view is filled with boats directly in front of the property. You can walk down the beach to other resorts for nicer views. Entertainment (Biggest Disappointment) The resort has potential to be fun, but entertainment falls short. Daytime activities are mostly pool games. DJs rarely play real dance music. Evening DJ setups are in high-traffic areas that don’t feel like proper dance spaces. The nighttime theatre shows were Hugely underwhelming and poorly attended. After one show, there’s little reason to return. More quality entertainment, better DJs, and actual dance areas would make a big difference. Departure Experience Once your bracelet is removed, assistance noticeably stops. Our pre-booked airport transfer did not show up, and staff were not helpful in resolving the issue. It was treated as “not their problem.” We were placed in a shared transfer despite paying for private transportation. Overall For $7,000 CAD, I expected significantly better — especially in service and entertainment. The property is beautiful and the potential is there, but execution falls short. I may return to Punta Cana, but I would not return to a Lopesan resort.

Would never go again
I would not go here again. The resort itself was beautiful, but the staff was rude and we had a party of 6 and it seemed to be a problem. One restaurant the hostess actually rolled her eyes when we said six. It was impossible to get reservations in the specialty restaurants, and they were all specialty except for the buffet and the valley. I had to go to the desk twice because the usb ports in our room didnt work. You better get to the pool super early to get chairs or you arent getting any. While at the pool I smelled marijuana I looked around to see where it was coming from and it was the life guard. Needless to say we generally travel once a year to a resort and The Lopesan is off the list
