Dec 19, 2024Worth the trip to Cancun to stay!
A great property on one of the world’s best beaches. All inclusive, with a good selection of eateries. We stayed a few times, and have never been disappointed. The hotel crew are fabulous - all focussed on making you feel at home. Many we now regard as good friends. Ruddy Gomez (Butler) - truly amazing. Nothing ever an issue. David (Poolside Waiter) - amazing! Actually, ever member of the crew that we can in contact with over multiple stays. Amazing!

Unfortunately Live Aqua was a disappointment. Spend your money elsewhere. My wife and I go to Cancun once per year and chose to stay in the nicer adult only resorts and we tried Live Aqua November 2024. The maintenance and upkeep is very lacking (see pictures) compared to the resorts in this upper price range. We had no hot water for showers 2 of our 4 nights. Blinds / shades and our room lights stopped working and we had to call twice to get them fixed. The hot tub is not hot and barely even warm unlike other resorts. We could not even enjoy the water. Pool was freezing. Mismatched paint, rust, dust, broken windows, missing light covers, the list goes on. Kinda gross! If this was my facility, the property manager would be replaced asap. Spa packages were misleading. We did a couples spa with massages on the beach. Expected a bill of $360 based on their website listed prices, actual cost was $480? We asked and they could not explain why there was a delta but we were billed $480 nonetheless. Spa associates were pretty rude except for the masseuses, they were great. My wife actually had to disrobe on the beach topless to hang her robe and walk to the massage table. We are not up tight and kinda laughed it off but it was a first and I could totally see how this would be unacceptable for someone else. Restaurants were ok, MB (steak house) was AMAZING. But overall this was our most disappointing Cancun trip out of 5 in the last 5 years. Please know, this is not about money. We do nicer vacations these days. That being said, this was way below expectations and what you normally get so we will not return. I reached out to management to politely discuss before writing this review and I was emailed a generic follow up a week later. Spend your money elsewhere!

Live Aqua Cancun always the Best!
This was my twelve visit to Live Aqua Cancun. It was just as the others, Perfect! I went this time with my brother as we were celebrating his two years of good health after receiving a liver transplant. We were there during the Aqua Lovers Fest. The festival was outstanding with dinner parties a boat trip and great shows. We relaxed for a week in cabanas on the Beach, which included a daily foot massage. Special drinks delivered by our beautiful friend Ale... Luis, Jonathan and Flavio made sure anything we needed was always no problem, they make you feel like family. Food was as always delicious, lunch was usually Jose's grill, rips, chicken and chorizo. I sleep better here than at home, super comfortable beds and fluff pillows, love the turn down service while you are out to dinner. The staff is so friendly and become your friends and family away from home. The Beach is white powder sand and turquoise blue water that changes colors with the sun and puff clouds, so beautiful. All of this detailed care makes you feel so specific and blessed and is why we always go back to Live Aqua every year... Can't wait till next year!

Live Aqua is a relaxing, perfect spot for a vacation!
What a pleasure this resort has been! Live Aqua has excellent food, accommodations, and particularly service. Everyone is so friendly and eager to make your stay enjoyable. Our favorite server, Cesar, would continually go above and beyond at our dinner at Siete to make sure we tried all the traditional and delicious options, even some that weren’t on the menu. We have had a wonderful time here.

Home away from home
My 11th visit to Live Aqua! I have been blessed to visit so often and I can’t wait to go back! In 2016 I came across Live Aqua by accident. I love the way the hotel looked and the ocean views and colors. This visit was all about pure relaxation and rejuvenating. We came to celebrate our 1 year anniversary since getting married there in 2023. Live Aqua is a home away from home for me. The food, the amenities, the hotel overall, the views, the entertainment, but above all else the people who work there, who we consider family is the reason we are repeat visitors. We know them, they know us, and it’s great to catch up. We didn’t have any “extra” requests but we were well taken care of! The day we arrived there was a bottle of champagne and a floral arrangement in a glass jar. It took me about 24 hours to realize they were not flowers but in fact desserts that looked like a floral arrangement! It was such a sweet surprise! The food and the presentation of the foods were immaculate! We had one special request, we wanted to have the meal we had with our wedding party the prior year and the hey made it happen. This visit was all about celebrating our family! So let’s start. Martin a bell man always makes sure that as soon as we walk in the door everything is taken care of. He makes sure our bags are safe, ready to go in our room, and that our room is comfortable just the way we want! Outside the poolside waiters and waitresses make sure you’re set all day! Almost always remembering what you’re drinking after 1-2 interactions. Johnathon, Luisa, David, Marco even if they are not in your section they are asking if everything is good and if you need anything! At the towel hut this team is amazing! There’s Flavio, Eduardo, Damien, Miguel, Sophia who make sure your cabana is set for you and swapping out towels, putting up umbrellas, helping you find a chair, and making sure you’re set to go outside! At the breakfast buffet (which is phenomenal)! Dorchas is so lovely to see and interact with she is so friendly! Marco makes the best smoothies and he never stops smiling!! He recognizes you as you walk in and even walks the dining room to say hi if he’s not busy! Blanca makes some amazing at request items, suck as the big or little foot, quesadillas, omelettes, and even covers at the smoothie station when needed! At the breakfast our waiters, Mauricio, David, Carlos, always make sure we are good to go! They even made sure I had my delicious white chocolate doughnuts each day!! Way to go they are one of my favs!!! At dinner Cesar and Chef at Siete made literally the best barbacolla and home made tortillas. (We could have eaten those all day)! Chef at MB is always a fan favorite! The Habanero soup is a must try!!! The butler service if your interested is a help for those who may want even more relaxation and ease and peace of mind! Carlos, Romero, Ernesto, are working hard along with the others to ensure all aspects of your stay are amazing! Making dinner reservations, getting your favorite drinks. and just about anything you need or want they will do! Christy the wedding planner rocks at what she does! Literally zero stress on your part and she ensures everything is perfect for your special day! Thinking destination wedding, she’s your lady! The spa is worth every single penny and Evette was a perfect fit for me! She did everything the way I wanted. The spa services are top notch and very relaxing! Rafael in the vacation club is amazing and answers all the questions you may have. It’s not a scam, it’s not a time share, it is point based and has so many perks. If you’re at all interested let them know what you want, how much you wanna spend, where you wanna go, and they do what’s best to fit your needs. The entertainment staff!!!!! WOW JUST WOW!!! Taylor, Ricky, Maria!!! For those asking about entertainment… is it more on the chill side? Of course and that is why we love going there! However when water aerobics gets you tired out, and BINGO has the best singer and dancers in all of Cancun, the circus, the silent party, the DJs, cooking classes, crafts, tequila tasting, archery and more. You will miss out if you don’t get the events schedule! The front desk has it available! Ask do you’re in the know. They also have speakers that play reminders to let you know something is starting! Bingo is definitely a highlight everyday!!! We love the entertainment and the entertainment team is amazing! The management, Ashley, and Jonathan are a dynamic duo and make their rounds around the pool and hotel and talk to guests. Euclid was amazing to meet as well as Alfredo. Keeping the hotel moving is a positive direction at all times! Always striving to do better and be the best they can be! Morelia the events coordinator put on some amazing events and it took a long time and hard work but any flaws were not noticed at all. All in all this is our home away from home and this is our family! We expect nothing and just come home. If you need or want something just ask! Everyone does what they can to make your stay the most enjoyable! Going to any other resort doesn’t even compare!
