    Staying Level

Level is known for its apartment-like units that redefine luxury living with full, high-end kitchens boasting Bosch appliances, gas cooktops, and all the kitchenware you could ever need—think plates, glasses, knives, pots, and pans galore. With epic skyline views and large terraces that stretch out like invitations to the city below, the streamlined modern architectural aesthetic and furnishings create a vibe that's so much better than your traditional hotel alternatives. But like any great brand in the hospitality industry, the first impression is everything, and that’s where the Level experience truly ascends to new heights. Upon entering the elegant lobby, I was greeted by the delightful duo of Guest Services Supervisor Emmi Grillo and Maria. Their warm smiles were like a soft landing after a long journey, and I knew right away that my stay was off to an exceptional start. Emmi and Maria have perfected the art of hospitality. Their sophistication and charm could make even the most jaded traveler feel at home, and their expedited check-in process is so efficient it should come with a “level up” badge. It’s clear that they’ve taken the concept of guest service and elevated it to a fine art. If you’re looking for a place where the service matches the stunning surroundings, look no further than Level. With Emmi and Maria at the helm of guest services, you’re not just checking into a hotel; you’re stepping into an experience that’s as elevated as the skyline views.

    My experience

Lots of noise coming from outside, even on the 26th floor. We didn't receive room service despite our stay of over 10 days. The range hood didn't work. We didn't have bedding for the sofa bed, which wasn't comfortable at all. The kitchen is good, but it lacks many essential utensils and there's no toaster. The room was large enough for a family, and the neighborhood was quite safe. The pool and spa are very nice!

No housekeeping so pick up fresh towels when you arrive and extra charges$$$$

$69 per day for valet parking $55 self parking ! I was told promptly at arrival that a credit card is needed for extra charges because it was booked through Expedia ! $181 additional total for 4 nights, cleanliness not up to par as bathroom toilet seat needs to be replaced, refrigerator reeked, 2 roaches in first bathroom and absolutely NO housekeeping. Furniture worn out from obvious use as “furnished”suites for short or long term stays. I called front desk for additional towels since no housekeeping replaces them daily and had to eventually go downstairs to pick them up one night and the next night the front employee said they don’t have any downstairs. No smiles no welcoming faces either. Ceiling fan with lights has no cover…. No television in second bedroom just closet style door for privacy

A stay that got better with a requested change

A mixed stay. The hotel is easy to find and check-in was busy but seamless.  Our (first) room allocation was 504 - level 5 the corner facing the busy South Olive and Ninth intersection. Being on the lowest level it was very noisy. The room was a one-bedroom apartment and was well laid out. It was good to have the kitchen area together with the in-room laundry facilities.  The facilities within the hotel are excellent. The pool area together with the spa is one of the best in the area. A tennis court. The gym is a great size and very functional. I also have an outdoor cinema area. Excellent walking location in downtown Given that we had a seven-day stay we decided to upgrade to a two-bedroom apartment and requested the quiet side of the hotel. We moved to room 1511 which was amazing. Basically, we went from the least desirable room in the hotel to 1 of the best - the aspect was great. The balcony was much more spacious and looked over the pool and tennis court. Overall it was great that we requested a room on the north-east side of the building it was so much quieter and made to stay a lot more enjoyable.

Great Stay but Elevator Issues Dampened the Experience

We stayed at Level Los Angeles - Downtown South Olive for 3 nights in a 2-bedroom junior suite. The location in DTLA is excellent—close to several restaurants and easy to get around using Uber. The suite was perfect for our family of four, offering all the amenities we needed. The Wi-Fi was fast but limited to only 5 devices, which can be a bit restrictive if you're traveling with a family and multiple gadgets. Unfortunately, the elevator situation was a major drawback during our stay. On the day we arrived, only one of the four elevators was working, leading to long wait times and overcrowding. The following morning, even that single elevator stopped working, and we had to walk down 16 flights of stairs—only to find a terrible smell and human waste on the stairway exit. This was a huge inconvenience. Thankfully, the elevator issue was resolved by the afternoon, and things were smooth afterward. Despite this, I would still recommend the hotel for its location, spacious suites, and amenities. Hopefully, the elevator maintenance is improved for future guests!
