Picture perfect
Beautiful and well appointed. Was great fun riding the resort bikes up to a local coffee shop surround by marinas and parks. Should have set aside more time to stay longer. Already miss it. The room was nice and the marina view side is worth the money. My wife wanted to find out what kind of mattress they had to go find us one.

Issues from the start
We had an issue right away at check-in. They had just implemented a new software system & our reservation did not “process correctly” when they transferred over. We did book through our travel agent with United Vacations & had a confirmation for a “Waterview Junior Suite” 1 King bed with sofabed & paid for such. I assumed this meant facing the water/San Diego Bay. They had us down for a Standard King room in their new system. They did accommodate with a Marina view suite; however, we had expected we were getting a Bayview waterfront suite and according to their website it is more expensive than even the Marina View. I’m not sure how staring at a parking lot for boats would be preferred over watching ships come in & out of the bay? I wanted to make sure I hadn’t paid for more than what we received as far as the room type. The first time I tried to discuss the issue, I was assured the manager would call me - never did. The next time I went to discuss I was talked to very rudely by Bianca & told “we are on an island & surrounded by water”. Pretty sure I knew that! I attempted one more time to call the billing department to request an itemized, detailed bill so my travel agent could compare with what was booked. Again was told we received a “preferred” Marinaview “at no extra cost”. Moral of the story: Beware if booking online or through a 3rd party - call to clarify what you’re actually getting! Also be aware that they do not have any vending at the resort - only the restaurant & a small marina store that’s only open 9-5. They charge extra for parking ($42/day) as well as a $42/day resort/amenities fee. It’s a nice resort, just wouldn’t stay there again based on our experience.

New system and we could experience it not in a good way.
Walls must been pretty thin cause we could hear the family above us late at night and early in the mornings. The key cards seemed to fail daily in our 4 day trip, so we had to go to the lobby daily. The piece of paper we used for parking was challenging and sometimes it didn’t work. The front desk employees seemed slightly lost dealing with the new system.

Great for Business Conferences
Wonderful time! Christian (Lenny) was amazing and truly set the stage for great service from the first hour on-site. The team was very attentive and kind. I would recommend this location for an organization looking for a great offsite meet-up.

Mediocre Stay
A lot of things that needed updated in the room, overly priced resort and parking fees. Parking gate was broken. No microwave to reheat food. . Heater didn’t work so we got really cold during our stay. Would not stay here again.
