Overall, 4 1/2 stars for an excellent hotel
Great location, very close to beaches, attractions, hikes and restaurants. The pool was outstanding. If you have kids, it's a major plus. The rooms were very spacious and fully stocked with everything you might need. The washer and dryer came in real handy. The atmosphere was serene. My only complaint was the high cost of the services at the spa.

A bit of a disappointment, very average resort from my point of view.
We were looking for a hotel in the Poipu area on Kauai. The hotel requirement was large rooms, not connecting, for family members. A facility with plenty of swimming pools and slides. Based on other reviews we found Koloa landing. The rooms were nice two bedrooms, two baths, kitchen, dining area, family room. However, if you were standing on our balcony of our room, you saw a large field of weeds, but you could see the ocean. Next to the weed field was a house or a junkyard I’m not sure. not very attractive. Sold the room as Ocean view, this may be a little false advertising maybe. We found the service to be below Marriott standards, in a some areas it was just disappointing. Several employees had some really bad attitudes. The restaurant in the hotel was OK nothing special. On departure, I tried to get a review of my bills and they kept saying we will send it to you. It is January and I still haven’t gotten anything, very disappointing. The pool areas were fine. That was one of the only bright spots. All in all a resort that I thought was pretty average. Would I stay here again with the family, probably not.

Great time, not as many sweet dreams
It is a beautiful resort with a breathtaking view beginning from the lobby. Always easily hydrated all day and caffeinated in the morning due to water/coffee in the lobby. Food was pretty well priced and tasty at the Holoholo grill. A small general store with a small but useful refrigerated section for food on go, drinks or snacks. Similarly a limited selection of hot items available. Pool was amazing and pretty clean, not too crowded. Spas were fairly large and there were a few to choose from. Did get an upgrade. Rooms were clean and spacious, lots of windows, and balcony as well. Bed left a lot to be desired, not terribly comfortable or supportive, so didn't sleep very much. Pillows did not improve the situation. Couch was not supportive either, made noise with any movement. Spa was very nice but pricing did not include washing the robes/slippers. Pricing was not all inclusive, so that makes it odd. Surprised by no renewable water bottles in the rooms to fill up, but rather use cups in the lobby.

Outstanding Resort Hotel With An Even Better Staff
We recently returned from our stay at the Koloa Landing Resort at Poipu in Kauai. This is a beautiful property with an outstanding staff. The property is right across the street from the ocean and is within easy walking distance to several local shops and restaurants. The on site restaurant, HoloHolo Grill, had great variety of food options for breakfast, lunch and dinner, and for a reasonable price for a resort type property. I would like to thank all of the front desk staff, who we had exceptional interactions with from start to finish of our stay. We were recognized for our Marriott Titanium status (this is not always the case) and upgraded to a one bedroom suite from a studio. The staff in the pool area were awesome, special thanks to Star, who was out working in the hot sun each time we were at the pool, but always had a smile on her face and greeted us by name when she saw us. Our room was spotless upon our arrival and the associates who serviced it kept it that way throughout our visit. Thank you very much Hazel and Nafil. The room itself was more similar to a small apartment complete with a full kitchen and washer/dryer. My wife loved that the bathroom had two separate sink areas so we could both get ready while the other was showering. There was also a soaking tub in one of the bathrooms, which we did not use but was nice to have. We will definitely stay at this property whenever we visit Kauai. I can't say enough about how beautiful the property is and more importantly how attentive, professional and friendly all of the staff at this hotel were and how well they treated us. Thank you for a wonderful vacation.

Lovely family resort in convenient location
This is a beautiful resort in a very convenient location in Poipu area. Overall, we had a lovely stay. The grounds are beautiful and very well maintained, and the staff were consistently friendly and helpful. The room (9-105) could use some updates. The master bedroom bedding didn’t initially appear clean, but housekeeping took care of the issue promptly once it was brought to their attention. The sofa in the living room was poor quality and was not comfortable to sit on. The tile floor seemed a little slippery even when completely dry. Even though it was on the bottom floor we had a lovely view of grass, tropical plants and palm trees. I was especially impressed with how efficiently the resort handled retrieving an item that we accidentally left behind. We dined at the restaurant multiple times and thought food quality was good. Pools do get crowded but if you get up early enough you won't have an issue getting chairs. I would not hesitate to return and look forward to another visit to Kauai in the future.
