Feel the pain with kids travelling
As Marriott Platinum and freqent traveler across continentals, spending a family weekend with my two kids here. The details of this 5* JW is just off. 1. Typical Casino setup. CheckIn default at 4PM. No matter if you are Elite or not. 2. Staying at One bedroom suite. Turned out all inside doors are unlockable, auto-opening *FANCY* sliding doors! Including the ones for bathroom and living room. So many times I closed the doors before sleep and one side just silently open fully itself. It's really creepy. 3. NonSuite Bathroom light is uncontrollable. Yes they are cheap motion sensing Lutron switch. If you sitting on the toilet, light would turn off. If you visit bathroom at night, it will make sure to burn your eyes. To make things worse, the bathroom door now is now regular barn door with light leak. Hard to recommend if you need to put kids to sleep early.

Gorgeous high-end hotel with friendly service in a great location
I just spent a night at the JW Marriott Parq Vancouver, a mini sisters staycation. Diana greeted me warmly and checked me into the one bedroom suite that I had booked. Maybe in recognition of my lifetime platinum status, she surprised me and my sisters with a beautifully presented charcuterie platter, complete with a nice hand-written note. Even though we weren't celebrating a special occasion like a birthday, Diana's thoughtful gesture make a quick getaway with my sisters feel extra-special. Thank you, Diana! Every staff member that we came across was also warm, friendly and welcoming. We will definitely be back - this is an immaculate, tasteful, fun hotel in a very convenient location.

My prefer hotel for Vancouver
There are numerous Marriott hotels in Vancouver, and I have stayed at many of them during my frequent business trips. Among the options in the downtown area, the JW Marriott Parq stands out as my preferred choice moving forward. I recently stayed there with my children during March break, and they thoroughly enjoyed the experience as well. The hotel offers a convenient location, clean and quiet rooms, comfortable beds, and consistently friendly staff. It truly delivers everything one could ask for in a quality stay.

Excellent lounge
Nice room, however bathroom needs some fixing; very loud, even on top floor with a regular flow of noisy people. Lounge excellent with equally excellent choices at breakfast. Admin issue that required urgent attention (no invoice handed out nor emailed which required multiple emails to the hotel to finally receive it)

Warning: Not a Family Hotel!
Not a hotel for families. OK for couples or those traveling solo. The bathroom door does not lock. It's a sliding, barn-style hanging door, which randomly slides back open - and can also come off its rail! The room TV is a bit dated with no option to project your devices. Individual lights in the room aren't easy to control individually either. For guests with status, room upgrades are pretty stingy. Standard rooms are being marketed as "great upgrades because of Dyson hair dryers". On the plus side: the hotel still looks relatively new, and the executive lounge is very handy for breakfast, snacks, and drinks.
- AdvisoryPrices are based on single or double occupancy. You will incur additional charges at the time of check-in for additional room occupants. The Front Desk will verify the age of the guest to determine whether the extra fee would apply.
