Expensive but Worth It
Much more expensive than our typical hotel stays (nothing else was available) but the extra money was well spent. All staff members were courteous and service driven and the furnishings were spotless and new. I felt that this resort was like a high class casino hotel with a beach attraction instead of the casino.

White sand, gorgeous sunset, be spoilt by choices and charme
It’s huge (by European standards) and has the most beautiful white sandy beach plus turquoise sea water I have seen in a long time. So, I fell in love immediately with the JW Marriott Marco Island. I guess, I would normally be overwhelmed by the sheer number of guests, since the resort has two big buildings and lots of rooms. However fortunately I had booked myself a nice abode in the adult-only annex Paradise by Sirene, and, thus, enjoyed an adult only restaurant, calm and serene hours at the adult only infinity pool or on the dedicated beach area, also reserved to the Paradise guests. That was fun and fine, and very relaxing. My room was beautiful and, as requested, “on a high floor”, in this case 9th floor, just one below the top, and it had lateral sea view, as booked. However, from my big balcony I saw mostly the hotel building “en face” – the bigger JW Marriott tower, and I heard permanently the very noisy air con machine for the whole property (not just the one for my room). That was a bit of a bummer. Especially at night, when the daytime soundscape disappeared. Normally I sleep with the windows open. Not here. Much too loud. The ladies at the decicated reception desk tried to help me, of course. Alas, the hotel was completely sold out. No chance to swap rooms. Well, I still enjoyed the nicely furnished decor of my temporary home, all very new and clean. I enjoyed the huge bathroom, the extralarge king bed, the delicious complementary breakfast at the Tesoro restaurant, the very friendly and helpful staff, everybody trying all the time to make their guests happy. I also enjoyed the room service, the awesome icecream and take-away pizza at Mosaico. And since I love to play tennis, I also had the pleasure of spending time at Hammock Bay Golf Club, an excellent facility with 4 very well kept tennis courts, a nice café / bar / restaurant, coffee & water available for players and guests, a charming club house and most certainly also an excellent golf course, which I cannot comment on, since I don’t play golf. The club is a short 15-minute-drive from the resort, and the JW Marriott offers a shuttle that takes you, if you don’t want to drive yourself. So this was my first time, both on Marco Island and in a JW Marriott, and I know already that I will be back. As the Marriott Bonvoy app so kindly messages as soon as you’ve checked out: “We miss you already.”

Unhappy with beach chairs
Hotel and room are nice enough but no one tells you that the first row of beach chairs are reserved and cost an additional $50 per chair per day. For what it costs to stay, eat and drink here, it is not a good look for the hotel. And most of the front row stay open all day, while second and third row are all being used.
