  Don’t go

  Disappointed in the JW Marriott. We are loyal Bonvoy Members and have stayed at many other JW Marriotts but this one needs some maintenance. Definitely doesn't feel like a 5 star resort. The pools are especially in need of repairs. The exterior stucco shows lots of deferred maintenance as well. The spa lacks the 5 star experience. The return on value was definitely not there for the amount of money they are charging. Unfortunately wont be a return guest.

  Great Facilities, but Billing and Safety Issues Overshadow the Stay

  Overall, the property itself is very nice. The hotel is well maintained, the service in general is good, and the variety of pools is a big plus. Unfortunately, several issues significantly impacted my stay. The checkout process was extremely frustrating, and the staff Hugo were not professional or clear when explaining the bill. I was initially overcharged for breakfast which was supposed to be free within the package I bought, which required additional follow-up. More concerning was a safety issue at the hot tub. Loose or falling tiles caused me to slip and cut my toe, resulting in bleeding. I filed an incident report on-site after calling medical team. Despite the injury and clear safety risk, the hotel offered only 2,000 points, which was inadequate given the situation. The food was pricey though the restaurant staff was friendly. This property has strong potential, but improvements are needed in billing transparency, staff professionalism at checkout, and guest safety around the pool and hot tub areas.

  our perfect wedding weekend

  We recently had our wedding at this resort and are so happy with our experience. From the very beginning, Avril the JW wedding coordinator was an absolute joy to work with - she was warm, responsive, and incredibly professional. We first toured the venue in the middle of the humid summer, and even then she guided us through the property with patience, kindness, and vision. The moment we walked through the large archway and into the marble-lined space, we knew this was the place. The modern-meets-classic design, Japanese-inspired touches, ocean views, and overall ambiance created the exact feeling we wanted: elegant, serene, and unforgettable. Throughout the planning process, Avril remained available. She honored previously discussed pricing without hesitation and even surprised us with a beautiful post-wedding setup that made the experience feel extra special. The front desk team was also wonderful, going out of their way to ensure our guests felt taken care of and even helping move my maid of honor into a better room. Honestly, thank you so much Avril for your coordination and patience. Our wedding day itself was perfect. The service was top-notch, the food was delicious and timed beautifully so we could relax and enjoy the evening, and drinks were constantly flowing thanks to the incredibly attentive waitstaff. The lobby bar then fire pits created the perfect atmosphere for a fun post-party hangout, and our guests who stayed onsite could not stop complimenting their stay. The staff continued to be kind, accommodating, and relaxed especially the next day, allowing us to unwind and truly enjoy time by the pool. Also, the food onsite and room service food were delicious! JW was perfect - the natural beauty, ocean backdrop, calming energy, and romantic setting created an intimate and breathtaking environment that exceeded every expectation. We are so grateful we chose this venue to celebrate such an important day in our lives. Highly recommend to any couple looking for a stunning, modern, and oceanside wedding location with thoughtful staff, exceptional service, and a truly magical atmosphere.

  Great Choice for a Family

  We’ve stayed at the JW Marriott several times over the last couple of years. If half stars were an option I’d give them a 4.5, but I will round up as I think they deserve a “great” over just “good”. Typically we stay in Casa Maat, but this past stay we needed a suite to have a separate space for our baby, so we stayed at the main hotel. We booked an oceanfront suite. The suite was spacious and intelligently designed. We liked that we could have the sliding doors open when baby was awake and closed while baby was napping for privacy and quiet. The bathroom was huge and we appreciated the 2nd bathroom. The outdoor space was fantastic, the view was great and a perfect place to hang out during naps or after bedtime. Food and beverage is solid and fairly priced compared to Cabo resorts these days. We enjoyed Cafe des Artists, but found their new concept Marhumo to be the star. Their version of the Naked and Famous cocktail was excellent and the food we had (empanadas, fish of the day, and the paella like rice dish) and it was all really good. It was a slow time of year so the resort definitely wasn’t full and the service/housekeeping was all good. They provided a fridge, kettle, and crib for us so we had everything we needed for the baby. We had no issues getting Ubers to the San Jose area for dinners (about 15 min ride). It was even more baby friendly than we expected and while not everything was perfect, it’s a really good choice and we’d absolutely stay again.

  Superb hotel and staff

  We stayed at the Casa Maat section of the JW Marriott. It is exclusive and includes fresh breakfast, snacks and drinks throughout the day, as well as various happy hours featuring high end drinks. If you want to get away from the more crowded parts of the hotel and get personalized service, I highly recommend Casa Maat. The lead Butler, Jesus, and his staff make the stay exceptional. Once they got to know us, we didn’t have to ask for a particular coffee or drink as they magically appeared, delivered by Antonio, Zitlali, or Aaron, with a smile. Dassaed took care all our daily needs with cars, reservations, etc. I cannot express how much they made our week exceptional.
