Not coming back
For what you pay, this really isn't a Luxe resort but it is priced as one. Like most tourist hotels in Cabo this one is on the higher end. Unfortunately the food, service and drinks were sometimes really good and sometimes not so good. We arrived to hear that our Oceanfront rooms we reserved were being cleaned. We decided to get some lunch and we were disappointed with the quality of the tacos and the boring guacamole. When our 2 "ocean view" rooms were finally ready they proceeded to take us to a corner building overlooking a courtyard with virtually no water views. Of course, I told them this was completely unacceptable and furthermore would not be paying the rate we paid delta vacations and would dispute the whole package. The manager insisted the hotel was completely full and after a hostile encounter with another manager they offered us free basic breakfast for the remainder of our stay....I said great, give us 2 ocean view rooms immediately and the next day they finally accommodated us but what a terrible way to start this vacation. Other observations good and bad: We froze our butts off in the room. It was really difficult to get a comfortable temperature. We had a Christmas Eve dinner at the highly acclaimed Cafe de Artiste. No one told us it was a prix-fix dinner with 2 dining options, I opted for the shrimp which was a weird chorizo type seasoning and it was not good. My family opted for the beef which was a very tiny filet (delicious!) and a not so great short rib which my son said was fatty. The seafood appetizer was fishy and not appealing at all. It was outrageously expensive and a huge disappointment from my experience a couple of years ago. The place is dead at night. The DJ stopped playing in the combo bar/sushi restaurant at 9 PM and it was lights out every evening. The sushi is just so/so. The Vietnamese Summer rolls were awful. The staff was a mixture of really attentive or completely indifferent. The best area for sunbathing is rather small and people nab all of the chairs before 8 AM. Get out early or you are hanging around with a lot of kids. The rooms can be darkish at night making it difficult to read. There is no hotel offered transportation yet we kept seeing a Marriott van going back and forth. You will hear your neighbors door slamming every time they come and go. Every time. On the better side, the small gym was clean and pretty good for a hotel. The shower was really nice and got hot fast The views from our real ocean view rooms were really nice for chilling and whale watching. You are a 10 minute Uber ride to San Jose and awesome grocery stores to stock up on wine, beer and other beverages and goodies Our comped American breakfast for hosing us over on the first day was pretty good with fresh juices, eggs, and pastries and breads. Some of the grounds are really pretty, yet the very, very tall and tightly packed palm trees obstruct much of the views on the balconies so be aware of that In the end, this was not a place that called out for us to come back to. For the record, I am a pretty seasoned Mexico and Cabo traveler and have been coming for a couple decades now. We'll try somewhere else next time

Loved our stay
We absolutely loved this place! It was beautiful and relaxing and we enjoyed the laid back atmosphere as well as the beautiful surroundings. The only reason I cannot give it a Five is the decor. It’s definitely worn and needs to be updated. The staff was attentive and helpful at every turn. Would recommend

Awesome Kids Club/Babysitter Service!
Our 4 and 6-year old boys had a blast at the kids club with Paula, Sofia, Karla and Gina! They made so many cute crafts and it was easy to coordinate babysitting in our room too for date nights. Best just to get to the hotel and connect with them in person.

Best Cabo Resort for Families
This resort over delivers in every way. They’re expert at making arrangements for adventures. The rooms are beautiful. And most importantly for us, my son adores the kids club. He specifically requests staying there and it allows us some time at the adult pool bar. We keep coming back.

Thoroughly enjoyable stay at JW Marriott Los Cabos
I felt compelled to write a review for this excellent resort after reading a couple of "entitled" confirmatively-biased reviews. Our family of 4 stayed at this resort for 5 days and thoroughly enjoyed our stay in a panoramic ocean-view room. Our check-in process was entirely smooth though we felt the check-in area could have been laid out better. There aren't enough chairs/couches to sit for more than 2 parties arriving at the same time. However, the welcome drink was to die for! We tried but were unsuccessful in ordering the same drink at any of the restaurants. The 2 main pools (including the adults-only one) were quite busy and it was hard to find empty chairs at these pools but there were enough empty chairs at the quiet adjacent pools (barely 20 steps away). We always found at least 2 adjacent chairs at these pools. We also found chairs at the beach which was quiet and quite walkable but not swimmable. The rooms were in great condition as the hotel is barely 4-5 years old. The balcony was a nice touch. The views were indeed awe-inspiring. The cleaning crew did a great job. We even got a dozen bottles of water replenished almost every day during our stay. For Christmas, we also got a trio of delectable cakes. As far as food is concerned, we enjoyed the Niparaya Sushi restaurant immensely. We ate at this place twice during our stay. The food at the main restaurant UA Artisans was so-so even if the presentation was outstanding. We also ordered food at the pool and felt the food was sub-par there as well. We didn't try the Michelin-starred restaurant Cafe des Artistes. Overall I would rate the food at this hotel a respectable 3.5 stars. Overall we had a great experience at the JW Marriott Los Cabos.
