Mar 21, 2026Beautiful Resort, Serious Safety Concern poorly handled
I recently stayed at this resort and overall, I truly did enjoy my experience. The property is beautiful, the atmosphere is lively, and many of the staff members were kind, welcoming, and attentive. There were definitely moments during my stay that made the trip memorable and enjoyable. However, I do feel it’s important to share a serious incident that occurred during my stay. While walking through one of the automatic sliding glass doors on the property, the door failed to open properly and struck me directly in the face. This resulted in a chipped front tooth and a lip injury, which was not only physically painful but also emotionally distressing. The incident was documented on-site, and I was evaluated immediately after it happened. Unfortunately, despite the severity of the injury, the response that followed was disappointing. My request for reasonable compensation was denied, and I was not provided with a meaningful resolution. I understand that accidents can happen, especially in environments that may still be recovering or undergoing maintenance. However, guest safety should always be a priority, and situations like this should be handled with greater accountability and care. I am sharing this not to discourage others, but to encourage awareness. I hope the resort takes steps to review the safety of their facilities and improves how incidents like this are handled in the future.

It’s a beautiful hotel! We love the short ride from the airport. This visit was our third time. The food is great at any restaurant. Our best meal was at the Greek (next door). The reason we keep coming back is the service and especially the employees. Butlers,Alain and Andre; bartenders Cassandra,Travis, and Shavaun; pool servers Cruise and Mayigol; Lenny does an exceptional job maintaining the lovely pools. The grounds were immaculate. A great feat after the hurricane Jamaica suffered through.

Butlers Alain and Andre are amazing!
We were at the Joia Rose Hall in late February with an oceanview butler suite. The hotel was lovely, staff were attentive, and I can't say enough about our two butlers, Alain and Andre! They gave us a surprise bubble bath with roses and champagne one night, which was lovely. Then when we both caught terrible colds later in the week, they offered to get us medicine. Alain also arranged for a late check out for us so we could stay in bed as long as possible before leaving for the airport. When our flight was cancelled, we came back to Joia, and both Alain and Andre worked hard to get us a room with a discount. Andre took us to the room (which again had champagne) and we were able to go straight to bed which was the best thing for us. Alain checked on us several times the next day to ensure we were going to be able to get a flight home, and even checked on us after we arrived home to make sure we were home safe.

Will be going back!!
Honestly I will be coming back to this resort Pro's 1. Best Food (Best I ever had) - Steak at the Jamaican restaurant is damn good! I had it every Lunch hour. 2. Amazing Staff 3. They have a Disco for any late night partiers 4. They have a lot of beach games (Botchie, Volley Ball, Pool tables) 5. Shows are awesome 6. All Adults "woop woop" 7. Everything can be done on the app (reservations, room service) so you never have to call. Room service is the best btw! Cons 1. Since I've been to Negril (amazing calm beaches) the beaches at Montego Bay are more windy BUUUTTT still beautiful. 2. They refill Bottles of water in your room so they're not sealed. I am a water snob with my RO water at home so I can tell when its not "as" filtered. I will just know for next time to bring bottles of water from Duty Free or bring a Brita filter bottle. I still think this is crazy but we never had issues 3. Usually Resorts are very open concept, but this resort is more closed. I didn't have an issue with it, but my husband noticed it. So I'll bring it up incase you care lol Besides that Ace my man! Thanks for an amazing experiance! This guy is the life of the party!
