Do not come
do not come here if you want a relaxing chill vacation kids run everywhere bartenders take forever chairs all have towels on them by 7:30 am and resort does not enforce the 1 hour rule that they have. lastly the employees have been extremely rude to my 18 year old who is clearly legal to drink has the wrist band and everything for it and still refuses him services. save your money go to an all inclusive only adult resort and skip this junk placw

Beyond my expectations
1053567327 Our stay at the Iberostar JOIA Paraiso was nothing short of exceptional. We traveled as a family of 11, (20 to 82) with all having an unforgettable experience. What truly sets this resort apart is the outstanding staff. From the moment we arrived right up until we departed, the team went above and beyond to ensure our vacation was perfect. I’ll start with our interactions with Viridianna from the entertainment team who knew each of us by name day one. She's a beautiful person inside and out and genuinely cared about making our experience amazing - and she absolutely succeeded!! We were also glad to see Felix, the head waiter at Venecia who we've met in past vacations to the JOIA. He went out of his way to ensure we had everything we needed and told me to seek him out if I needed anything additional. At the french restaurant, Emilio once again delivered top-tier service. Another of the staff who we’ve met during previous vacations who provided 5 star dining service. We can't forget Dario at the Martini Mix bar and Luigi at Rhapsody, who made sure our drinks were always crafted EXACTLY as we liked them. Our days were spent by the pool from early morning to late afternoon. The "hydration team" were exceptional - Migel, Carlos, Lenin and Eli stood out . There were others who also went above and beyond but I don't have their names. We've visited other resorts over the years, but nothing compares to this one. Time and time again we find ourselves disappointed elsewhere when we compare the level of service to the JOIA. Loved the spa area for use of steam room and sauna each morning (maybe an afternoon nap). Because of the amazing service we will absolutely be returning next year (or sooner) If you are considering this resort, just book it!

Working with the staff and Freddy as the concierge was an excellent experience. I could not recommend this more highly. Freddy provided great service and attention and I look forward to returning to this great property.

Exceeded expectations
We had a great time at this resort. Our room was PERFECT, super well-appointed and spotless. We opted for a balcony room by quiet pool and the location was perfect. This is a big resort but it never felt crowded except for Saturday night at the restaurants. We came to golf and golf was fabulous! The course was in great shape, fun and challenging. The staff was amazing. Super helpful and very funny! We always got out on time, if not slightly early The hotel staff great everywhere we went. I could not say a bad word about anyone. They went out of their way to be helpful and accommodating. The food was good too. Mexican was amazing, Italian was also, Steakhouse was good, French was good, Asian not so good and we didn't do the hibachi dinner. Matter fact, I had lobster every day! The only thing we weren't crazy about was the only place to sit down at lunch was the buffet. We enjoy a sit-down restaurant or two where it's quiet and we can enjoy a glass of wine in a pretty atmosphere. Same for breakfast, we enjoy a sit-down breakfast option. But not a deal breaker, just would have wanted that option. Now, I assure you, the buffet was outstanding, breakfast, lunch, dinner - one time as it was their GALA night). Seriously good. Another really nice point about this property was the golf cart rides anywhere you wanted to go. One day we were way down at the furthest Iberostar property after walking through all of them, we went up to the valet and they got us a cart back to JOIA within minutes. They will take you anywhere/anytime. The spa on the property was lovely; we used it twice. But the spa at the Mall area was even better! We both got massages and facials and used all the amenities. Very lovely, enormous place. And other than the locker rooms, its co-ed everywhere. Pools were both beautiful but crowded understandably. The beach area was beautiful and no problem getting a chair any time of day. Being two hours from Atlanta, I'd go back in a heartbeat.
