    Nice stay with some flaws

This was our 5th stay at the Mirador and for the first time we encountered a few minor problems. First the good part: - nice room at the top floor with a great balcony that saved us from the intermittend rainshowers - great breakfast, especially the crew from the egg station! - always enough chairs available in the garden, very attentive pool staff - managers reception with free drinks and snacks Neutral points: - I received a bottle of sparkling wine, a cake and a small gift (same as last year) for my birthday, but sadly the lady at breakfast missed my clelebration day despite me giving her a serious hint - parking is free in the underground garage, space was limited however due to construction work What annoyed us a little: - we love sitting on the balcony before going to bed; we expected music until 11pm from our previous visits, but it was worse this time: 3 (!) different live music sources streamed into our ears: the singers in the hotel bar until 1030 pm, the band from the La Torre restaurant until 11 pm and a new bar/lounge until 1115 pm. This makes enjoying the evening or going to bed before half past twelve nearly impossible - we noticed a significant water damage in our room ceiling (see picture) on our last evening. We notified the friendly German concierge lady who then informed maintenance and management. Upon returning from dinner, reception did not know anything about the issue, called maintenance who stated "there is no danger". We told them that sleeping with paint falling on our heads is not very comfortabel which they did not really seem to understand. We were called then at around 10 pm giving us the "chance" to switch rooms which we declined because we did not want to pack all our stuff at night a few hours befor departing. The offer "just sleep in the other room and leave your belongings in the old one" seemed more like a joke. From my point of view a small refund or an invitation for dinner during our next stay would have shone a brighter light in the hotel staff. - checkout: the employee who handled our checkout (middle aged male with glasses) showed a total lack of interest or enthusiasm. Just an unfriendly "credit card please", no "how was your stay" or "have a good trip home" or "we hope to see you next year". Very surprising and left a bad feeling.

    The best of the best

This was our 5th stay at El Mirador and there is not much I can add to all of the glowing reviews from other guests. The property itself is meticulously maintained, the staff to a person are warm and enormously helpful so I cannot single out one individual for praise - they all deserve it as does the management staff. The food - oh wow - I jokingly tell people at home that this is a 5 star restaurant that also has beds, beautiful grounds, outstanding views and a swimming pool! To top it all off, we met two couples again that we also met there six years ago. We have travelled the world and for rest, relaxation and fine dining this is as good as it gets.

A unique and amazing adult five star hotel

We have been staying at the Joia El Mirador for the a number of years and we are never disappointed. It is an adult only 5 star hotel in Adeje and in our opinion the best. It is set in amazing beautifully laid out grounds and the buildings design/architecture is stunning. The rooms/suites are luxurious, immaculately kept and very well appointed. The staff are friendly, welcoming and take pride in ensuring we have the best guest experience possible in a serene atmosphere . We find half board suits us, the breakfast and evening dining experience, the sheer choice and quality of food available is again amazing. We cannot to return next year. Nigel & Jean

Another 5* experience at The JOIA El Mirador.

It was our 4th stay at the JOIA El mirador and it was another 5* experience. Tiziana Marquez and her team looked after us with superb care in the wonderful, tranquil surrounding of the hotel. We had a wonderful room with outstanding views which was very luxurious and comfortable, cleaned and maintained regularly. All the Restaurent’s offered us high quality food served with care, kindness and attention by the staff. Roma and Andrea looked after us around the pool and made the early evening refreshments in the pool area one of the best times of the day. We intend to return later in the year.
