  Great service

  It's a beautiful hotel. The staff is friendly and no complaints on the multiple food options available. We ran into a small problem during our stay, however it was quickly resolved by the amazing butlers we had. I would be remiss if I didn't express our appreciation to these individuals. So thank you Armando, Ray and Victor. We also had the pleasure of meeting Darlyn the manager who made a point of meeting with us to ensure our issue was dealt with to our satisfaction. A very unusual yet appreciated gesture. An enjoyable vacation

  Excellent resort and staff

  We just returned from our 5th stay at JOIA Bavaro Iberostar. This was Iberostar Grand but renamed. We already have another trip booked for this March so that kind of lets you know how we feel about this resort. We have been to the Dominican 15 times and stayed at various hotels and locations and will only stay here now. The resort is beautiful, the staff is all fantastic and will do anything to make sure your stay is excellent. The food is very good for an all inclusive. This hotel is peaceful and quiet with a mix of older and younger couples and a minimal party atmosphere. Perfect for relaxing. There are activities all day for those that wish to stay busy including evening music at the lobby, a theater show every evening and special events throughout the week. We upgraded to the butler suite but the service is fantastic even without the upgrade. That said our butlers Eduardo, Jesus and Cesar were all fantastic and were always available to assist us with anything we wanted or needed. They worked hard to make sure we had a great experience. The reception team was fantastic and helped us out with a couple requests. Our one waiter Benjamin remembered us from our previous visits and as always was extremely helpful. The only negative comment and it’s the same at every resort is that people reserve chairs by the pool and ocean and never use them. My comment is really more about the guests being rude as there is not much the hotel staff can do. Also, please be sure to tip the staff as they all work very hard to make sure your stay is enjoyable. It was another wonderful trip at JOIA and we’re already excited to go back. I highly recommend this resort for a peaceful and relaxing vacation.

  Great resort!

  This is by far the best resort I’ve been to. Rooms are large and well equipped Grounds are beautiful and clean. All top shelf liquor served. Help is friendly and very accommodating. Jesus and Eduardo our butlers were very helpful.

  Beautiful place, great staff, very accommodating to the guests.

  Wife and I spent 5 nights there. Jan 11th 2026 thru the 16th. It was our 1st time going to an all inclusive/adults only location. We booked an ocean view room with a butler. Arrival and check in was fantastic. The staff there are absolutely the best. They all say hi and smile, they are all top notch and really do a great job. The grounds are VERY well kept. The staff who take care of the grounds are excellent in what they do. Nothing was ever dirty, the walkways were always clean, the landscaping was meticulously maintained. The thing we didnt care for was what felt like being pressured to go to some membership meeting that they said was 90mins. We agreed to go one morning at 8am but we drank too much the night before and stayed at the beach too late and overslept that appt. The individual who we talked to and agreed to go was not as pleasant to us after we missed that meeting. But its our vacation and our time comes 1st. He actually actively avoided us the remainder of our visit. We ended up attending a meeting the day before we were leaving. After 90 plus minutes and 5 different people trying to talk us into this membership we were over it. We didnt purchase it since it was our 1st time at an Iberostar and the contracts are long. The shortest is 5yrs and it didnt provide us with what we were looking for. No reason to spend $21,000 on the lowest level of membership and not use it. The one that fit what we wanted for places to stay was 50K for 15yrs. The room was clean, and everything worked. I would say calling this room an ocean view was a little bit of stretch. I have a pic attached taken from our balcony. We were disappointed in that. The pool area was really nice. The bar staff at the pool are a lot of fun. Tobias was awesome and made great drinks. They all are very helpful, friendly, and seem to enjoy what they do. Its a great place to hang out during the day. The food was excellent at the Italian place. The filet and tagliata was so good! The waiter we had, Samuel was great. He was happy, he took great care of us. Even shared his favorites and brough it out to us. We went there 2 times to dinner. The surf and turf restaurant was ok. Filet we ordered medium, came out almost well done. We didnt send it back. Was a so so experience there for us. The buffet has so many options. The food at he buffet was pretty decent. The help there are also great. We had breakfast there every morning. Lots of options. Overall its a beautiful place with great staff. We just didnt like the high pressure sales pitch. We wanted to relax and not deal with any stress, or any kind of thinking at all. Im sure that happens at other resorts as well, it was something we didnt expect.
