Star Camp is free and part of the all-inclusive experience at Iberostar and features more than 140 age-based activities based on the approach and theory of multiple intelligences, which advocates personal growth through cooperation.

Jan 13, 2026January 2026 visit - disappointing
We were really disappointed with our recent visit to iberostar waves hall January 5-12th 2026. This hotel should either hire more locals for support or should close down to fix the issues below. 1.) Elevators were not working 70% of the time we were here. I am recovering from my a hip adductor injury and was travelling with my elderly mom. The stairs were brutal, especially with luggage. This was not communicates to us prior to arrival or even at arrival. 2.) The facilities were very run down (or maybe impacted by hurricane and not fixed), for example, the main bathroom beside the beach had no door handle to get in. It was completely broken. Additionally, another bathroom door did not close at all due to what appeared to be damage to the wood. 2.) When the elevators did work (30%) of the time, there was a significantly disgusting urine/fish/sewer smell. I was unable to figure out what it was, but it was not good. 3.) The grounds were being maintained by the staff (great), but it was done at the cost of the guests. There was construction noises and unfortunately we were unable to use the seating areas close to the lobby that were outside as construction was happening. None of this was communicated to us, nor reflected in the price. 4.) Buffet service was so slow. We would sit down for breakfast and not be served coffee until we were almost done. Additionally, during busy times, tables were not set quickly enough and we had a hard time finding a clean place to sit. 5.) Beach is nothing like what is portrayed in the pictures by the resort. We did not swim or stay at the beach at all, it was very rocky, dirty, and tight… the pictures were so deceiving. Do not come here if you are after a beautiful beach vacation. Positives - The food was amazing and the people were friendly. However, I will not be back.

Just came back from this resort and it was amazing. The entire staff was absolutely incredible. Our room was always cleaned, sometimes 3 times a day. The mini bar was always topped up with everything. The bar at the pool was amazing and the bar staff's drinks where always done to perfection. I recommend the Bob Marley. The pool activities where fun and there was always something going on. The shows at night where fun and they entertainment team was phenomenal. The food at the beach was great and the buffet was awesome. The Asian restaurant was amazing and had a great atmosphere. They are doing some construction on the resort but you wouldn't even know as we never heard any noise. We went to the falls and Bob Marley tour for the day and I highly recommend going( look for the guide named Bark he is hilarious and very knowledgeable). The beach was nice but there is some seaweed on the sea floor but that didn't bother us. We never had any issues with this resort. We definitely recommend this resort to everyone. They really made us feel welcome and made our 20th wedding anniversary special (we spent our 20th wedding anniversary there on January 7). Just know that when you go there hurricane melissa really devastated parts of the island and the Jamaican people are doing their best to make you feel appreciated to have you as a guest in their beautiful country.

Very good hotel experience/ extra charge from credit card
I visited with my mom and husband mid Dec 2025, we were one of the first guest to arrive on the official day that they opened, we enjoyed the tree lighting ceremony. Despite being affected by hurricane Melissa they made sure that the guest were comfortable and rigorous construction was still being done. Our visit was very welcoming from the entertainment team, the dining room team, just about every one was very pleasant. The food selection was very good, lots of variety, themed night at the restaurant was exceptional. A big shout out to ,Marcus one of the chef, the food severed on the beach side was good, A big shout out to Aniffiah, she is the lady that wear the glasses who greet guest on their way to the buffet, very pleasant and welcoming, always smiling. Too Short, and Red Bull from the entertainment team, Too Short took the time to play Ludi Board game, humble young lady. Our overall experience was exceptional. Two days after landing back home, I realized that the hotel drew $CA 588 from my credit card, Just to add, we didn't buy anything or destroy anything. I called several times no body picked up the phone, i emailed them as well no response, so my bank is investigating the withdrawal, as the hotel reservation was paid for in full from Oct 2025. And as per information from my bank it is extra charge that you guys took from my credit card. I am hoping with this review you guys will do the right thing. As i am trying hard not to let this extra charge take away from the beautiful experience i had at your hotel. I would love to re visit this review to let the world know that the extra charge was rectified.

Dec 21, 2025Place is under construction, noise & dust
The place is under construction. The main hall with cafes and shops are closed. Noise, dust and workers are everywhere. We paid $8,000 to come to a construction site. We called right after the hurricane and they told us that damage was limited to landscaping. That was a lie. Our room was among other rooms under construction.

great visit as usual
THis is my 8th visit here. Lovely hotel, a bit dated, but charming and great food. Lots of seats on the beach or at the pool, my only surprise was that I had to specify to the bartenders that I wanted alcohol in my drink. 2 separate bartenders made my pina colada and Miami vice without alcohol and told me I had to say "with alcohol". Weird. I'm 45, not child-looking. Maybe I'm not party-looking enough?!?!?! Entertainment is lovely, hugs to Peter and Sparkles. I'd love to see you again. I miss seeing Chocolate and Angel from the old team. Lovely trip, as usual.
