Nowhere close to a 5 star resort
2.5 star resort ! Nowhere close to a 5.0 star. Customer service from the time I checked in to the time I check out was horrendous. You’ve heard of the term “ island time” , well this place is far past that to go as far and say “Jamaica time” there is absolutely no urgency to get anything done promptly and or professionally. Sometimes just straight out rude. Mostly due to the complete lack of communication amongst employees. My room was clean. Food was as expected on an island in the middle of nowhere. Property upkeep deserves a strong 1 star review. I could go on and on. I will not be going back on my dime.

Forever Loving Iberostar
This is our 5th time at the resort and we love it. I agree, it may no longer be a 5 star in many aspects- but in all the important areas it is very much a 5 star. The cleanliness and food are 5++. There are always options even for the picklest eaters. I love that there’s always a Jamaican food station- you are in Jamaica after all. Yes- this time there was more tinned fruit which was a little odd, however, it’s probably a seasonal issue. A HUGE shoutout to waitress LORIS who works breakfast/lunch- she’s who we look forward to seeing every visit. Always waiting with a smile, never a sour face (like many others I’ll get to later). Loris is so professional, kind and genuinely likes to see the guests happy. Mario (making omelettes) always kind, gentle and approachable- such a great guy. HE should be the first person you walk in to at the buffet and see… not Damion. I don’t usually call people out but Damion in the buffet line making omelettes has the worst attitude I’ve ever come across. He doesn’t greet, doesn’t reply if you say “good morning”. When it’s your turn to make an omelette he just looks at you and raises his eyebrows- I guess gesturing you to speak?? Apparantly he’s one of the main chef’s but I suggest he stays away from guests if he’s going to be so unfriendly. Not the first face you want to see in the morning, that’s for sure. But other than this daily experience- everyone else in the buffet is kind and helpful. Entertainment at the pool and evening is fun and engaging. We travel with our children- they love it here. Unfortunately they don’t have a kiddie pool - maybe remove some fountains for decoration and put in a little splash pool for kids? The kids waterpark area is great too. We will definitely be back- it’s our favourite place. I couldn’t recommend the Iberostar Waves enough.

The People made it worth it!!!
This vacation was a year in the making and upon arrival I was underwhelmed but there were moments that made the trip memorable and I feel 100% worth it. The pros: The grounds is absolutely breathtaking, it’s worth your Instagram posts. The beach is what you expect, clean with everything at your fingertips. The pools are the same and lots of activities for families to enjoy. The food is awesome and Cassandra was the server we looked forward to seeing every morning we went to the buffet. Cassandra was warm, inviting and went above and beyond to make us feel welcomed. TY Cassandra. Carla our concierge turned our stay completely around, she made my mother’s birthday special and is the only reason we will give Iberostar another shot. TY Carla. Lastly, Paris at the Hibachi Restaurant kept us laughing all night while cooking an excellent meal. He was personable and made dinner inclusive. TY Paris.

I stayed at iberostar beach on January 7-10 with my 2 daughters ages 10and 13 my sisters and my nephew he’s 2 my kids
I stayed at iberostar beach on January 7-10 with my 2 daughters ages 10 and 13 my sisters and my nephew he’s 2 my kids went down stairs to get snacks and got stuck in the elevator they text me to let me know I told them to press the help button I’m heading to the front desk my daughter told the person she was speaking to that her sister is having a panic attack and she also has asthma and is starting to throw up this man told my 13 year old he have to hang up because he has other call to attend to and hang up by this my daughter was scared because the lights went out in the elevator and her 10 year’s old sister was covered in vomit I reach the front desk nobody was there I saw a man cleaning the lobby I ask him who’s at the desk he said the guy left to find maintenance because someone is stuck in the elevator I said it’s my kids then run back across the resort to the elevator they where in still nobody came to assist them me and my daughter was texting only thing I could do at this point was tell her to stay calm I’m trying to get help I rush back to the lobby crying still body I got a call from my daughter said somebody let them out and left them after they where in the elevator for at least 10 min , my point is 2 under age kids stuck in the elevator you got them out you don’t try and help them find their parents or take them back to the lobby you left them unattended no report was made about it i had to bring it to somebody attention then this girl in guest service is gonna tell me her manager said they can offer me a $100 gift card are you serious I could’ve lost my kids I showed then the vomit etc. my 2 kids are traumatized until now … if it was 2 white kids that was stuck they would’ve gotten better assistance no customer service at all at this resort then a staff is gonna let me know that someone pass a remark that my kids wasn’t stuck in the elevator and I’m trying to scam the resort ok they better listen out for my layer I must say this is not a family resort as they stated .. nothing there to do during the day no staff around the pool area to do activities especially for the kids or for those who choose to sit around the pool area since that’s the only place to go other than the beach the pool water is cold right through the day so it’s always empty …, that’s why I think they should have someone doing activities to entertain the guests this resort is mostly older people so if your young and need a family vacation this is not the resort for you I had a 8pm reservation at the Japanese restaurant I went to my car to pick a shoes up to wear left the shoes box outside the restaurant with a crocs ,body spray, and a invictus cologne after dinner I went to pick the stuff up to take to the room the cologne was missing I went to report it they said they can’t do anything since it was left on the property and not in the room , then they send security to come and search the room after I told them it wasn’t in the room it was left on the property they dig through all my stuff searching for a cologne that wasn’t in my room and still can’t give me a solution for my kids that I have to pay therapy for when I get back to America this resort is racist so if your black wouldn’t advice going

Items STOLEN from room!!!! The workers cover for eachother. No resolution given. Do not stay here.
I stayed at Iberostar Waves Rose Hall resort in Dec2024-Jan 2025 for my 25th birthday and New Years. I stayed from Sunday to Friday with my family and boyfriend. We had 3 rooms all on different floors. My boyfriend and I stayed on the 5th floor which conveniently had no cameras in the hallways. How funny. The AC in our room was making a banging noise the first two days which we made complaints about and no help. On Tuesday, we went to the desk once more to demand maintenance to fix the AC, and maintenance fixed it while we were away for excursions. A couple of days later, as we were packing our luggage to prepare to leave the following morning, we noticed my boyfriend’s EXPRESS brand dress suit inside a plastic EXPRESS garmet bag was STOLEN. We flipped the room upside down to search everywhere, went down to the front desk and had security also search our room and we filled out a report. The next morning when we went to the desk to follow up, alot of the workers there were confused and trying to delay help. Once we finally got to speak to the security supervisor there that day, she informed us that they will be doing an investigation. She said they will check the log of key access of our room and other investigation which I do not know how in depth their work is. We took our flight home and a couple days later received an email saying that because the hotel does not allow their employees to leave the resort without me searched, that the hotel did not find our item missing and therefore they are not liable. How dumb do they think we are? They did not bother to tell us who had access to our room , if they checked cameras on other floors of someone carrying a LARGE GARMET BAG CONTAINING A MEN’s suit inside. They did not tell us if they questioned our cleaning lady or the maintenance person who fixed our AC while we were out on excursions all day. They brush alot under the rug. The type of people working here will help their own get away with things. They steal items to resell and make money. During our stay, there was a gentlemen who had his TV Firestick Stolen. This is a common theme with this resort. So because they have a “protocol” that they must check and search their workers before leaving, there is no way they couldnt have stolen our MENS SUIT. Security searched our room, they didnt find it themself. It disappeared out of thin air ? They are providing no solution or reimbursement of a $200 item. I was enjoying my stay there until I felt unsafe. It was my first trip to Jamaica and now I understand why they have the stereotype they have. Some people ruin it for others. Do not recommend staying at Iberostar resorts in Jamaica. You risk your items being stolen with NO help and the workers covering the situation up.
