Sustainable tourism with Iberostar. Excellent Guest Relations!
October 2024 My family had a lovely week here during the October school half term thanks to Sheila from Guest Relations and Cristina the Head Chef. We had stayed here previously almost 10 years ago and were most impressed with the improvements especially relating to sustainable tourism. Check in Tony in Reception gave us a lovely welcome with cold towels and cool drinks as we arrived. We were a little early for check-in but didn’t have to wait more than 10 minutes for rooms to be allocated. Very quick and efficient. Thank you. Drinking water We loved the purified water stations on each floor. This must have saved at least 30 x 1 litre plastic bottles for our one week stay alone. The water was excellent quality and there was choice to have it dispensed at an ambient temperature or chilled. Wrist band keys The wrist band keys were excellent and so convenient. I presume they replaced standard plastic ones. No more losing or forgetting your room key! It also allowed access to the spa area. Respecting nature and wildlife We also liked the fact that the hotel became quiet around 10 pm every evening which not only respected those with children but also the natural surroundings and wildlife. I would suggest that guests are able to turn off their balcony lights should they wish to. This would aid sleep, save electricity and prevent light pollution to wildlife. Although there were blackout curtains some light from the bulb did come through at night. I could not find a switch that would turn it off. Last time we asked maintenance to remove the balcony bulbs for the duration of our stay as we were told that they were centrally controlled. Sustainable vegan plant based food We became vegan since our last visit to the hotel so were a little apprensive about booking half-board or all-inclusive. Last time we were all-inclusive but this time we thought we’d try just the breakfast to see how well vegans were catered for. My husband spoke with Sheila from Guest Relations who was most excellent in formulating a special menu so that we had vegan food at breakfast. My teenage son and husband were weight training in the gym every so she listened to their need for plant protein. Cristina the Head Chef then provided vegan breads, cheese, yoghurts as well as freshly made vegan pancakes, hummus and a big jug of plant-protein rich smoothie for us all. There was also plenty of fruits and plant milk on offer. Thank you so much Cristina and Sheila! Constructive feedback Please provide training for all serving and kitchen staff about veganism and increase your vegan options. Many hotels have a separate vegan menu now. It would be great if Iberostar could do the same especially as it is clearly leading the way in sustainability. Cruelty aside, it is now a well known fact that the Animal Agriculture industry is the biggest single cause of greenhouse emissions. Also in many countries Veganism is now recognised as a philosophical belief protected by law. Veganism seeks to omit the “use” of animals wherever possible so this includes dairy, honey, eggs and obviously animal flesh. Many staff seemed confused about what Veganism is, and unfortunately we were given contaminated smoothies at the beachside bar on our first day. The bar staff did kindly ask us if we had allergies but I don’t think it was fully understood that it was an ethical choice. Unfortunately we were still charged for these smoothies. After that we chose not to consume anything at the hotel other than the specially prepared breakfast as we were worried about cross-contamination with animal products. We instead gave our business to the many vegan restaurants in Majorca. If there were greater vegan choices we would have of course eaten at the hotel too. Also, it’s a little thing, but we couldn’t have the delightful looking welcome chocolates at check-in as they were not vegan. Iberostar please provide a sustainable plat based vegan alternative next time as there’s nothing worse than disappointing tired children (and parents 🙂). It’s a little gesture that would mean a lot. Thank you again to Sheila from Guest Relations and Chef Cristina. Because of you both we will be back 🙏🏼 🙏🏼 Sent from the all-new AOL app for iOS

A good hotel for family holiday
We stayed 5 nights in this family friendly hotel. The bedroom size was reasonable, and we had a separate room with sofa bed for our 10 years old daughter. The arrangement was perfect for us, and the room didn’t feel too cramped. We had a side view to the sea, but it was sufficient for what we needed. The cleanliness of the room was acceptable. We swam every day there and tried both the outdoor and indoor pools. The weather was a bit cold for outdoor swimming on the 3rd week of October, but we did manage to use the swimming pools every day. I had the pools for myself most of the time, as many people were only interested in lying on the sunbed. The indoor pool was good, and children were allowed to be there until 3pm. So, we did spend some of our time in the indoor pool when the weather wasn’t great. Our 10 years old found the swimming dome (children’s pool) amazing, She spent hours jumping and sliding at that pool. Forgot to say, the beach in Playa de Muro is good and very family friendly. The water is very shallow. We went for half board. The buffet breakfast and dinner were average, but we expected that already. We did consider going for a meal in Alcudia, but we didn’t do it in the end. It was so easy to have dinner and then enjoy the rest of the evening at the hotel. We were surprised that we enjoyed the 8:30pm show every night. Kids liked the show, and the weather was good enough to sit outside to enjoy it even on the 3rd week of October. In general, the staff were very friendly and the entertainers did put some efforts to communicate with the kids too. We found staying in this hotel was very easy, as it came with everything. There are plenty of places to eat if you like to drive to Alcudia. There are also plenty of places to visit if you have a car. We like Pollenca town and also did a walk not too far from Port de Pollenca. Mallorca is a small island. It is very easy to travel around if you fancy to do more sightseeing.

The hotel location is perfect them Mbeautiful and we had hours of fun in the fantastic pools in the day and loved the evening entertainment. Our rooms were so clean and spacious with a fantastic view from the balcony . My favourite part of the holiday was the beautiful meals we received they had so much choice and everything looked and tasted delicious the very talented chefs in the restaurant even prepared all my meals from fresh due to my food allergies making sure there was no cross contamination . I would definitely recommend this hotel for anyone wonting to be treated like a star.

Wonderful hotel
This was our second visit, still a fantastic hotel especially for families for all ages. Just great. Food, facilities, location. Staff are great, friendly, knowledgable and welcoming. Upgraded to sea view room on arrival. Food remains excellent, great variety and super fresh. Staff in the main dining room were lovely especially Miguel at the entrance. Beach is super clean and literally on the door step. Room was clean, air con worked fine, great shower. Toiletries very nice. Room service was excellent. I really can’t fault this hotel. If you want a family holiday this doesn’t get much better.
