Serious Hygiene Concerns at Iberostar Hotels
My daughter and I stayed at Iberostar Waves Christina from October 26th to November 2nd, 2024. Everything was fine until October 30th, when I experienced severe symptoms of food poisoning and this has ruined our remained trip. I have experienced food poisoning only twice in my whole life — and both times were at an Iberostar hotel (the first time at Iberostar Bellevue in Montenegro). When I brought this issue to the hotel management, I was told it was likely a virus, and they acknowledged several other complaints about similar symptoms. Whether it is a virus, food poisoning or bacterial infection, it is a result of negligence from the galley staff and disregard for hygiene and food safety standards. When sauces are left on open air for hours, guests get food poisoning. When sushi served at dinner is left out overnight and then put out again for breakfast, guests get food poisoning. It is that simple. Apart from the above serious issue, I have no complaints about the room, pillows, or cleaning, although bathrobes and slippers would have been a welcome addition. The hotel’s location is quite convenient, with a nice beach, cafes, pharmacies, car rentals, and public transportation within walking distance. For a number of years, I have chosen Iberostar hotels if I had a choice, but after such experiences, I will not choose it for my next stay again. If you consider Iberostar for your next vacation, make sure you have enough medicine against food poisoning, as you may need it.

Nice, clean hotel, but…
Great hotel, clean and very friendly staff, always smiling and helpfull. Me and my husband stayd for 5 days and choose all inclusive. BUT 1) All inclusive was three meals a day: breakfeast, lunch and dinner. Only for lunch and dinner you could get alcoholic beverages that was one type of draft beer or wine, nothing else was included. Also you were only alound 3 alcoholic units for lunch and for dinner. It was not possibly to get any drink in between, unless you bought it in the hotel bar. This was a big bummer for us as we choose all inclusive so we could chill by the pool and eat and drink as we wanted. 2) Next: we orderd a double bedroom, but got a twin bedroom. Very annoying as the beds had wheels, and were «rolling» away in the night when sleeping. 3) there was nothing in the minibar to buy in the room 4) we had a balcony with garden view to the pool, and every night is was live show (from 18-22-23:00 in the evening), so imposibble to sleep, not only because of the noice, but also all the flashlights the whole evening from the stage. 5) people were sitting at our balcony in the evening/night to watch live show or fotball, screaming and yelling. Had to wake up several times to tell people to go away. 6) extremly crowded at dinner and breaksfeast, so many adults and children. Had to wait to long to be served with something to drink. Because the waiters had to bring the drinks for dinner, no self service The hotel was otherwise very nice, clean and super friendly staff, but the bedroom and the all inclusive ruined it for us.

Great trip in a fantastic hotel
Wonderful short break in this brilliant hotel ! Rooms are spotless, beds are very comfy , house keeping was brilliant and all the staff are amazing , friendly , courteous , professional at all times . The pool area is not extremely inviting but has loads of comfy sunbeds so you haven’t got to make a mad dash to get one at breakfast time . We did half board and both the breakfasts and evening buffet are super delicious with a great variety of choices . I would certainly strongly recommend this hotel to family and friends, very child friendly - superb!

We had a great time
Nice hotel and our holiday made special by the friendly staff in particular the animation team. This is a decent hotel with everything we needed. The room was a good size, clean (cleaned every day and towels changed) and the bed was very comfortable. We stayed seven nights on a Bed and Breakfast basis which was fine as there were lots of good restaurants within walking distance and Palma was 20mins away. Their was a bus stop right outside the hotel and just 2E to get to Palma on the number 25 (also 5E to get to the airport on the a2 but I would advise a taxi for 18-25E if going to or from the Airport) The Breakfast was extremely enjoyable with the huge amount of choice on offer and the quality and service both very high. Special shout out to the omelette lady (sorry I forgot your name) who knocked out some cracking omelettes on a daily basis. Breakfast got a bit busy at times but that's to be expected however the food quality or service wasn't effected at all. The hard working amination team were a lovely friendly group who went out of their way to ensure people enjoyed their holiday. They were not in your face or load as has been the situation on other similar holidays but were there if and when you needed them. All activities were well communicated throughout the week so you knew what was on and when. Special mention to Caesar, David and Patrick who were a huge amount of fun and genuinely superb throughout our stay. We enjoyed all the activities we participated in particularly Padel & Table tennis (hotel has a pool table, 2 x table tennis tables, 4 x Padel courts and 2 x tennis courts). We also grabbed a couple of the evening shows which were varied and of good quality. We only used the outside pool a couple of times at the beginning of the holiday as it was a tad chilly we generally gave it a miss. There seemed to be plenty of sunbeds on offer and there were 5 large beds just around the corner which we used a few times to chill on. I need to point out that this hotel is situated in a predominate German area and most of the guests in the hotel were German. This was absolutely no issue for us but it was noticeable and if you venture out of the hotel you will see many of the bars are of German theme. We went with the intention of having a chilled week to grab some late summer sun with not too many expectations but the weather was great and the holiday superb. I would totally recommend this hotel and if you do go then engage with the activities as David, Caesar and Patrick are top lads and will make you smile.
