Great resort and good diving experience
A great experience overall. We did a dive package through Iberostar and Dressel. Resort- beautiful, well maintained, lots of foliage, quite a few coatis. Beach is sandy and clean but some coral at the edge as is typical I believe. Room- comfortable, spotless, loved the hammock on the balcony. Food- tasty, lots of fresh veggies and tropical fruits, fish and seafood, plus all the standard American fare like burgers etc., themed nights in the buffet restaurant and a couple sit down restaurants available. I have a severe food allergy (to soy) and they were excellent. They confirmed in advance they'd be able to accommodate (not using soybean oil for routine cooking in the resort was a huge plus) and I was always able to eat a full delicious meal. Even in the Japanese restaurant they made me something. Food was much better than a highly rated restaurant we went to in town. Diving- Dressel were great, dive boats a little crowded at points but saw some good stuff and never felt unsafe or disrespectful to the reefs. Activities - rented a scooter through solymar. They're not affiliated with the hotel. However, the hotel concierge/gentleman who referred us to them was quick to argue against us when there was a dispute about the fuel level. Apparently, he told us repeatedly and assertively, in Cozumel a full fuel gauge does not indicate that the vehicle is full, instead you must look inside the tank to check. Front desk - manager Isabel was great. Some of the other staff were harder to deal with. We booked a king room through Dressel (as they book everything when there is a dive package) and on arrival were told that meant nothing and we would have to deal with 2 doubles instead. Front desk staff were argumentative when I presented the email confirmation from Dressel. Isabel was able to resolve the situation and was very professional.

Relaxing beach
Service was excellent. The staff are wonderful. Food was good. Rooms are dated but clean. Your only allowed 1 towel and they are not very big. Had I known I would have packed some. The designated smoking area is right on the main path to the lobby and restaurants. You have to walk thru that after showered heading to dinner. There is an issue with coati’s. They climb in the rafters above your table while eating. Better to avoid tables along the outer edge.

Fun and Relaxing Vacation!
Great staff! Tennis was fun, food was very good overall with variety. Snorkeling off pier wasn’t much to see, but going out with Dressel was great!

And if you had a bad day...It will go away
Much thanks to Christian Ocampo at the desk, to the left of Iberostar's Front Desk. I was dealing with computer-cell-phone-issues. I am 79 which should explain the confusion and total expression of LOST on my Face. Christian was a busy guy, but he saw my look of blankness. He asked if he could help. I replied that I was trying to "work this thing" He asked if he could take a look. And 2 and on sixteenth of a second later, the problem was solved. He is patient, competent, humane, and has a sense of humor- his English is great. Oh yeah! The food is great, the ocean is teaming with cute fish, the rooms spotless; but having a good person make your cell phone work. Now that is wonderous!

Great location
Great location. Staff is very nice to work with, Mario helped us alot and did a great job! Bring your own music to the pool, as they don’t play any type of music. Restaurants were top notch. Make time to get off resort and explore with a rental car.
