Awful
We chose this resort to celebrate our 5th wedding anniversary, a trip we saved for and truly looked forward to. Our travel agent noted the special occasion in the reservation, but there was no acknowledgment whatsoever, and no one seemed to care. Upon arrival, our room smelled strongly of mold, which immediately set a negative tone for the stay. We were also invited to an “informal meeting” about travel opportunities with the company and were explicitly told it would not be a sales pitch. That was not the case. During the meeting, we were treated poorly and made to feel judged because we could not commit to membership due to having two small children back in the States. The experience was uncomfortable and unprofessional. The food was disappointing as well, with the same options seemingly repeated day after day. On our final night, we witnessed an elite member verbally abusing another guest, using inappropriate names. Disturbingly, the elite member faced no consequences and was allowed to remain, which further reflected poorly on the resort’s standards. Overall, this was a very disappointing and disheartening experience—especially for a couple celebrating a milestone anniversary. We would not recommend this resort and would not return.

I plan to go back
My husband and I recently returned from a group scuba vacation with friends at Iberostar Waves Cozumel, and we had an absolutely excellent time. We loved it so much that we’ve already booked our return trip for next year! If you are here for the water, you won't be disappointed. Having Dressel Divers Scuba operation right on-site was a game-changer. Despite being a large operation, the service was personalized and professional. The boats were great, and the guides were top-tier. A special shout out to Maggie - best guide ever. For most of our trip, the beach was pristine and beautiful. However, on our second-to-last day, the wind shifted and sargassum seaweed blew onto the shore. We didn't see an immediate attempt to clean it up while we were there, though we imagine they eventually got to it. It’s a good reminder that even on the "safe" side of Cozumel, nature can change things overnight! While the pool water was a bit chilly during our stay, the pool area itself is lovely, and the swim-up bar was a definite highlight for our group. I wish they offered aqua aerobics. With very few exceptions, the food was excellent. We were impressed by the high quality and the sheer variety available at every meal. Their gym is very nice. I was able to do two really good workouts while there. They also offer tennis and archery but I didn't do. I think they had yoga but I never did see where. From the waitstaff to the dive team, the service was consistently excellent across the entire resort. Kid-Friendly (But Adult Approved): We don’t have young children, but we noticed the resort is well-equipped for all ages. It never felt "overrun," but it clearly caters well to families. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and just the right size for a dive-heavy vacation. However, there are two things to be aware of. The walls are quite thin. We could unfortunately hear our neighbors talking and coughing quite clearly. If you are a coffee lover, be warned—the in-room coffee was weak and barely drinkable. You’re better off heading to one of the main bars or the buffet for your morning caffeine fix. While we loved having a lanai, the furniture looked nice but wasn't comfortable for lounging. I loved that they had a place to hang your wet suit outside your room after a day of diving. Despite the thin walls and the weak coffee, the pros far outweigh the cons. Between the world-class diving with Dressel Divers and the high-quality food, this resort is a gem. We can’t wait to head back next year!

Stayed for a week with our dive group.
We had an amazing time here. All the staff were wonderful and friendly. We were on a dive trip with 134 other people, and they made accommodations for us when the weather wasn’t cooperating. Best vacation we’ve had so far!
