Not a tennis player or active family destination

Not for an active family! Not for tennis playing. We are a clubmed family, decided to try something g new, not comparable. Activities are 30 min and really micky mouse in comparison, there are 2 tennis courts but 1 net is broken and not maintained, service is excellent, food is good but not special, access to beach is not easy and quite rocky, we had high waves with heavy undercurrent not making it useable, architecture is pretty and rooms are well maintained, but not easy for kids as no good kids club for older kids, overall would not come back.

    Worst experience of an Iberostar

The food is less than awful and apparently premium means nothing anymore. You just pay extra for nothing. There is barely any pool service and the water and ice machine by our room has been empty for six days. The pool is too cold and a lot of complaints about that. They are severely understaffed in all of the restaurants and the poolside not worth the money for what they say as being a top-of-the-line hotel. we are still here and have until January 4 to go and really not looking forward to staying here.

    Nice place.

Generally, we liked everything except the rooms. When we arrived, the room was very hot and damp. There is a portable in the room that was not on. With it going together with the ceiling fan, things were much improved the rest of the nights. Our beds were too small for two people of average size. The bathroom steamed up with even from the shortest of showers and the sink tap leaked a bit. Housekeeping was a bit hit and miss but generally good. We had to contact the front desk on two occasions, once when our room was missed and then to restock the bar fridge. Both were dealt with quite quickly. The property is very nice. Except on the busiest days, there are plenty of chairs around the pool. Food choices poolside are a bit limited but there is a well stocked buffet a few steps away. The food was good. The main buffet had plenty of options. The Asian restaurant was our favourite. Activities are a bit hit and miss. Sometimes they would run, sometimes not. It seemed to improve once the hotel was busier. The beach is nice and there are chairs and umbrellas available as well as bar service. There’s a little cantina just off the beach that offers a full range of drinks and some food items including fish tacos that are worth checking out. There are beach items for rent at the Dressel dive shop. They also offer scuba, snorkeling and whale watching. We finished our divers certification through them which went flawlessly. Highly recommend the Dressel dive shop. All of the staff are friendly and helpful. It was a two hour bus ride from the airport. A taxi would be a lot quicker but probably more expensive. We’d definitely look into a taxi next time. The bus back to the airport was under an hour… Overall, the resort was a pleasure. We’d recommend it to all but the most picky. Like any resort, if you are looking for things to complain about, you’ll find them here. If you are looking for a nice holiday, you’ll find it here as well.

    Great service and good chefs

The resort is lovely. It has great grounds and pretty good food. Its a little far from the towns but lots to do on the resort. Half my family doesn’t eat meat or fish and they had an international night with delicious foods. They made exceptional exotic dishes from our home town and especially chef Christian Napoles, made special dishes for my family for 3 nights. The overall staff was great not pushy and very helpful. We would recommend this resort to anyone who just wants a relaxing vacation and maybe visit the town of Mita.

    Great chefs and service.

We liked the hotel. Beautiful resort, a little far from puerto Vallarta. It definitely was a great experience. Half my family doesn’t eat meat and as a vegetarian the hotel made sure they accommodated them. Especially, Christian Napoles a chef at the buffet- he was exceptional and made some amazing traditional dishes from our home town! Super impressed. And he prepared something special for us the day after as well. Exceptional staff!
