Family with teens had a great first-time AI experience
Our family of parents and teens had a fantastic first-time AI experience at the Paraiso Lindo. The grounds, including the pools and the beach, were gorgeous. The rooms were larger than expected and exactly what we reserved. The staff could not have been nicer or more accommodating. Highlights include the bartenders, who make mean blended drinks; the folks making tacos and burgers near the pool at lunchtime; and the staff at the Star Cafe, serving up an outstanding selection of delicious little sandwiches and good coffee. No place is perfect, of course. The food (other than the stuff mentioned above) was always plentiful, but was just good, not great. Seating at the non-reservation restaurants (not the buffet, which was always easy) was kind of a cluster. The fire show on the beach was great; the rest were just fine. But those are quibbles. We spent five non-travel days sipping drinks by the pool, bopping along to the Mexican music playing at the bars, and splashing in the ocean. Couldn't have been better.

Disappointed and Concerned: Cleanliness Issues Led to Staph Infection
I wish I could write a glowing review of Iberostar Selection Paraiso Lindo, but unfortunately, our experience was far from what we expected. We recently stayed at the resort with our family, including our 1-year-old daughter, and left with a serious concern about the resort’s cleanliness. During our stay, we noticed multiple areas that were not properly cleaned. The pool areas often had debris floating in them, the public restrooms were far from sanitary, and our room itself felt like it had been given a very surface-level cleaning. There were sticky spots on the floor when we checked in, and the bathroom had a strange odor that lingered throughout our stay. The most alarming part of our experience is that, despite taking precautions, our 1-year-old daughter developed a staph infection while we were there. After consulting with a pediatrician, we were told it likely stemmed from exposure to an unsanitary environment. For a resort that markets itself as family-friendly, this level of cleanliness is absolutely unacceptable. Beyond the physical condition of the property, we felt that management was dismissive when we raised our concerns. When we mentioned the situation to staff, we were met with indifference and no meaningful effort to address the issues or reassure us of corrective measures. We had hoped for a relaxing, worry-free vacation, but instead, we left stressed and worried for our child’s health. This was not the luxury experience we paid for, and I would strongly caution families with young children against staying here unless significant improvements are made to the resort’s hygiene standards. We sincerely hope the management of Iberostar Selection Paraiso Lindo takes this feedback seriously. The safety and health of guests, especially children, should be a top priority.

Great all-inclusive beach experience
My family had an excellent stay at this resort. The beach in front of Lindo has fine, white sand and there are plenty of areas on the water with no rocks. Water shoes were not necessary, you can easily swim barefoot. The food was good and plentiful. We ate at the buffet at least once a day and there was something for everyone. There is food everywhere and the grab and go options for lunch were a nice alternative to the buffet. The Christmas Eve dinner was lovely. The staff were all helpful without being pushy. Kudos to Lourdes at the Olivetti Trattoria! There were concierges everywhere waiting to help with any question or request. We enjoyed seeing all of the wildlife on the property including peacocks, coates, parrots, and iguanas (and a black cat that seems to have taken up residence by the lazy river and was almost always there holding court). We very much enjoyed the evening entertainment including the fire show, magic show, Mexican folklore, and circus. I very much appreciated Iberostar's commitment to limiting plastic - mounted shampoos vs little single-use bottles, and filtered water fillers around so that plastic water bottles were not necessary. A few opportunities for improvement (all minor topics, just suggestions); My kids didn't love the Star Camp (but they were on the older side) and the "cooking class" was just chips and salsa. It would be helpful if there was a small broom in the rooms to manage the sand between daily cleanings (or a small rug or two to wipe off feet). The app is pretty clunky. A la carte reservations should be allowed (on our one attempt, we were told there would be a one hour wait and it was closer to two hours). There should be at least one towel dropoff location at the beach. Boogie boards should be among the items available for daily use or rental (it seems silly for each family to pay $50 for something that they really can't take with them). There were a lot of daytime pool/beach activities that were "adult only" that should also allow teens (volleyball, spikeball, etc). My sons asked for real fruit smoothies at the bars vs just syrup drinks. We often found all pool/beach chairs were claimed and would have appreciated more supply. I'd avoid the sales presentation - it just left us feeling icky about Iberostar.
