We're Back!
Between 2009 and 2017 we stayed 7 times at IBEROSTAR HOTELS (5 times at Riviera Maya including Lindo, Dominicana and Playa Mita. After taking a break decided to visit again. We came as a family with our daughter, her husband and 16 month old. We got 2 rooms on different floors in building 51, perfect location for us. I wish we were closer because babysitting was difficult. Our room was very clean, with big dresser and plenty of hangers. Bed was comfortable on softer side with nice sheets. I wish pillows were softer. We had a couch, small table and 1 (!) chair in the room. Balcony had little table and 2 chairs. Hotel provides robes, shampoo, conditioner, liquid soap and lotion. Soap bar and slippers are no longer available. Beach is long and beautiful, always clean and we felt very safe walking far. Bathroom at the beach is small and does not feel clean. Definitely needs updating. We did not like beach food, it was mainly overcooked burgers and french fries, Pools are big, don't feel crowded and one can always find a chair. Buffets are pretty good, with big choice of food, lots of fruits and veggies. A-la-carte are ok, we liked Lemon&Spices and Under the Sea. Workers are very friendly and helpful, regardless of tips. Almost everyone that you pass smiles and greets you. If we needed help we would ask reception, our initial contact on day1 or 2 with our concierge was not the best. He never really checked with us later on and we stayed 9 nights. What I was missing was more information about what is available to us at resort (that should be concierge), we used app but that is not the same. I also wish we had full access (not sure how much we had) to Maya. That was confusing, especially that DelMar and Paraiso are twins in full meaning, so we assumed thats the case with Lindo and Maya. We think Lobby at Maya is a lot nicer, especially with some live music and more inviting atmosphere. Great place to seat and talk, but bar is not available for Lindo guests. We absolutely wanted to recognize Dafne from Reception Desk, she was providing us with most help, so thank you Dafne. Also, Oriole from PR; we appreciate your input in making us welcome. It was a good stay and we might visit again in future.

Amazing staff - felt like family upon arrival
My trip started off amazingly due to Briana and Eugenio at concierge services! They really set a different standard to making guests feel special and taken care of. To me this is the most important part of an all inclusive. I don't think establishments really understand the importance of making guests feel special and taken care of but Iberostar and their staff definitely do!! Also there's a gentleman - Octavio - on the golf carts that my daughter can't get enough of. Now she always wants to ride on the carts! Also tip - if anyone forgets sunblock etc - don’t go to the shops it’s super overpriced like crazy overpriced - go to the pharmacy by the carousel it’s reasonable there. During our trip we were constantly looking for things we can do with our toddler (two years old) but most of the activities were for 4 and up and a lot of the all age events happened around 8-10…. That part was a bit difficult cause my daughter I found out here - has a crazy case of fomo and refused to sleep cause she wanted to dance. The property itself was gorgeous but huge, the rooms a bit underwhelming, the food was not something to write home about, but somehow they still managed to check off all the boxes - the people here are just THAT GREAT. Thank you again Briana, Octavio, and Eugenio!

Met expectations for a 3 to 3.5 star all-inclusive
Just back from Lindo, travel dates were Feb 17-23, 2026. Our party was four adults and one infant. First, the pros: - Felt absolutely safe here, even during the recent unrest. Very grateful for that. - Good location, 30 min from the airport and 10 min from Puerto Morelos. - Our room was updated and clean, and the room service was consistently good. Comfy bed - no complaints. - The grounds are beautiful and meticulously maintained - it's lovely just walking around. (Though anticipate that things are spread out, you'll get your steps in! If you have mobility issues, there are golf carts to run you around.) - The pools are enormous and not too crowded, even when the resort is nearly full - They have clearly made an effort to make the physical spaces unique and enjoyable - Long stretch of soft, white sandy beach (we had pretty substantial waves during our stay, and there was also a fair bit of debris in the water most days; not the resort's fault, obviously. They did their best to keep the beach tidy.) - LOVE their commitment to sustainable seafood and eliminating single-use plastic; the water purification/refill stations are plentiful and conveniently located - We enjoyed seeing the wildlife around: birds, iguanas, coati, monkeys, and peccary. None of them were a nuisance, as long as you take your food dishes away when you're done with them. - New and clean gym (though not huge) - several pickleball courts available. Unfortunately, we were disappointed with the following: - While there are many restaurants, there is somehow always a wait (30-45 mins, minimum) unless you have a reservation. But you cannot reserve at several of them, so you have to show up (with your entire party - no sending someone in advance) and then wait. What was confusing is that without fail, once we got in the restaurants were never more than 30% full. Are they under-staffed? It was curious. - With a few exceptions, the service overall was... aloof. Kind of indifferent to the customer experience, I'd say. In some cases, outright rude (only a couple of people) - but mostly just not very empathetic or helpful. Found this surprising. - The food was a bit of a mixed bag. The buffet overall was excellent, though someone in our party did get sick from sushi on the last day. Some of the restaurants were quite good (Olivetti), while others just missed the mark (Under the Sea). No authentic Mexican tacos, unfortunately... but you can get a tourist version. - Tipping: okay, it's "all-inclusive." I also get that staff are perhaps not paid that well, and we were fine with offering additional tips for service. However, it would be nice to get that service *prior to* tipping. Some of the bartenders outright ignored us unless they could see we had a bill in our hand, which was not cool. - You have to do the whole 'go down at 8am and put your stuff on a beach chair or you're out of luck' thing. Not my fave. - The pools close at 7pm and there is no night swimming available, a bit of a bummer - The bar selection is great for poolside blended drinks and there is plenty of cerveza to go around. If you're into scotch or wine... enjoy it at home. 🙃 Overall, we had a good vacation and the resort met expectations for a 3 to 3.5 star all-inclusive. Some aspects where better. Just know what you're paying for and go in with reasonable expectations. This is not a 5-star experience.
