    Good vibes resort-Shalala!!

This was truly a great experience. Reception was the most accommodating. Wonderful customer service, very children oriented place. The app works great. Our building concierge made my husband's birthday extra special. Kids club is amazing. We spent a lot of time there, during family time. We enjoyed ice cream at the ice cream place above the pool. Coffee shop is a cool place. I enjoyed macha latte every day. Taco shop is very good. Playgrounds are nice. Entertainment was great. We liked circus show. In general, a lot of attention to details at this resort. We didn't not like any ala carts. Mostly meat oriented. We liked room service. Bring your own floaty for lazy river. Wave pool is amazing for kids. Sadly, couldn't use the ocean much because of seaweed (in October). The main pool wasn't clean enough for us to swim. There are other pools that were better. And I liked lazy river. Racoons are nuisance. They can attack you while you are trying to eat your food at the beach, and they steal things and personal items. Lots of fish in the ocean to observe. Beware that the reception will introduce you to time share (club) sellers and call them a concierge. It's confusing and a waste of time. And a message for sellers-we aren't interested because we are going to different resort chains every time and do not want to be stuck with one chain.

Wildlife, staff and food were our highlights!

Iberostar Paraiso Lindo - your staff are what really make the resort shine. We found everyone genuinely friendly from the cleaning staff to concierge to bartenders and servers. The entertainment staff are especially fun and outgoing. “Shallalah goodbye” Next are the animals! Aguti, coati, monkeys, peacock, flamingo, iguana! Coati’s are a nuisance but do listen if you clap at them. The babies are adorable. I feel bad for their situation though crawling into the garbage cans and being fed. Third are the grounds! Very well tended! Beautiful gardens. Bring your walking shoes - each resort is long and you put on the steps. Some negative aspects with a bit of positive: The towel saving game is strong here. They have a sign that it is not allowed - but it is. No one enforces not doing it. A couple days on our trip we had difficulty finding seats both at pool and at ocean. Frustrating and maddening when you pay an increasing amount of money to travel here. The food is very good. Lots of fresh fruit, seafood, juices. There is honestly something for everyone. We went to many of the à la carte restaurants and enjoyed them. It is very difficult to get dinner reservations. I was pretty much in the Iberostar app asking if reservations were available - daily - multiple times a day. It was not a pleasurable part of the trip and pretty frustrating. The first come first serve restaurants I had to arrive at 5:30 pm and often would wait 45 min to an hour for our reservation. The buffets can have lines to get in if you eat at peak times (say 9:30 am, 7:00 pm) The pools are cold even in warmer temps of mid March. Wish they were heated for cooler days. Wave pool, lazy river and water slides are very fun. Very nice beach with big waves. Be careful for coral and rocks. Can be dangerous. Love the snack stations with ice cream and beach snacks. We had a few minor issues with a noisy room and bracelet cards that stopped working mid visit but we were helped fast and efficiently. Overall we had a great relaxing holiday.

    Disappointed and never again

The last time I stayed here I posted a great review. This time we are very disappointed. We asked for and paid extra for rooms facing the pool adjoining one another. They made my daughter pay 450 extra and now we are totally different buildings far away from each other. Worst part was the front staff arguing with me telling me I was wrong about everything. We have stayed here 10 times and never had this terrible service. Sad because I recommend it to everyone. Never again. Sad to see service go down this way

Great family resort for a fun and relaxing trip

We were very pleased with our trip to the Lindo this March. We went for our local spring break, so we expected the hotel to be very busy (and it was). Check in was very easy. They held our bags and gave us bracelets so we could start to enjoy the facilities. We immediately went to the concierge after checking in and he was able to book the two restaurants we wanted reservations at for the week (steakhouse and Japanese, thank you Eddy). Once it was check in time we returned and they immediately took us to our room. We were in building 52 (near pool) which was a good location for us. I really liked that you could walk fully covered through all the buildings straight to the theatre, buffet, lobby etc. because it did pour rain most of the day for one day and we didn’t have to worry about walking out in it. Buffet food was what we expected - food cooked for the masses, so acceptable but not the most amazing quality. Everyone in our family found food they enjoyed at every meal. Lots of variety which was great. What I most appreciated was that they had some Mexican options at every meal (chilaquiles, maduros, Mexican cheeses, tamales etc) because our family really enjoys Mexican food and I know some resorts really just cater to American/Canadian food styles at their buffet. They even had horchata at some meals which my kids were thrilled about so loved that! À la carte restaurants seemed to be reviewed more poorly when I looked through reviews before we came, but we actually found them to be great. Teppanyaki had good food and my kids loved the show (I think our chef was named Rogelio he was great). All meat at the steakhouse was cooked very well. We liked that we could walk up to places like the Greek and Mexican and not have to worry about reservation. We went early to those so we didn’t need to wait long with the kids. Service was also excellent at all, I wish I could remember more names to compliment them. We also visited the Star Cafe daily and those ladies were all fantastic. Lots of drink options to try. It was nice that it opened at 5am for our early departure. Make sure to visit the mall for something different, we enjoyed Taki-to, crepes, ice cream and the new churro place (which had atole to try), playing at the playground, the little merry go round, and just the atmosphere there. I have never been more impressed by how well cleaned and maintained everything was at a resort. It was so beautiful and our room was spotless. The cleaners left our kids towel art which thrilled them. Loved the drying rack on the balcony. Wish the two beds were bigger or that there was a rollaway bed available, it was so busy at the hotel they didn’t have any to give us and it was a tight squeeze in the tiny beds for four of us. Wish they had offered us one of those rooms with the bunk bed couch. Otherwise room was good, shower was nice. Use the mini fridge for drinks a few times. My kids enjoyed the activities, Star camp and extra water facilities (slides, wave pool, splash pads). They had a Mexican party at the mall with an amazing all female Mariachi band, costumes for kids to dress up and dance, a piñata, my kids were so thrilled. They loved the wibit at the pool. We did sunrise yoga and aqua fitness, the lady that ran those was wonderful. They went to star camp for a rainy day and didn’t want to leave! Special thank you to Estrella and Arumi (not sure if I spelled that right). They also did a circus show that my kids participated in and they absolutely loved that. The professional show that followed I was expecting to be a circus type show but it was just a live singing show in circus costumes. The singers had great voices. They also had a free macrame activity one day at the pyramid and my kids loved that! Pools, water slides, wave pool, sports pool, splash pad were all wonderful. We avoided the chair game for the first three days and were able to get chairs as we go to the pool early, but on the rainy day we went down late and could not find even one chair to share. But the thunderstorms started up again so we just left. After that we played the chair game the last couple of days by putting our stuff on the chairs before breakfast and then returning after we ate. We watched chairs sit from before we came until late afternoon with not one person returning to use them. I know it’s hard for them to police but I wish the resort would do more, as we also watched people walk around for ages trying to find a spot so they could leave their stuff somewhere while they swam. I think it was particularly bad because the resort was clearly full. Bars were great, lots of drink options. We loved that they had fruit water stations all over the place to hydrate. Some have juice in them as well. Bars are everywhere. We loved going over to the Beach lobby bar for a drink after we dropped the kids at Star Camp for the rainy day. Lots of animals over at Beach and Del Mar. unfortunately some guests have been approaching and feeding the monkeys and now they are getting very bold. We had them climb on our chairs twice and some people said one bit them after they were too close. I wish more people realized how bad it is for the wild animals to feed, touch and interact with them. We didn’t have issues with the coatis which I know other reviewers mentioned but we did see them eating garbage and leftovers. This was a perfect resort for our family to have a relaxing vacation with many activities and things to do. Loved some of the sustainable things they do as well. I would encourage families to visit the resort! If they ask about the breakfast meeting say no firmly. We did have a couple of requests from different people but we just said no and went on our way rather than engaging.

    Armondo

This has our 4th time we have gone to to Paraiso Lindo, and each time we have continued to come back for the beautiful resort and exceptional service. The last 3 times we have found our favorite waiter in the La Pagoda Buffet, Armondo always gives us the BEST service that for the past 3 visits we have requested him. He is very attentive and always takes such good care of us. We will continue to come back for Armondo and the rest of the amentities and Staff. Highly recommend anyone to come whether it's couples, families or friends this is your resort.
