Sickness.
We arrived at the hotel on Friday 1st of Nov. Seemed good on arrival. Got to our room, no sockets were working. Reception sorted quickly. Pool very small for size of hotel, broken chairs and could do with an update. On the Monday my husband became very unwell with a stomach bug, apparently going around the hotel. Several members of staff were also off. My husband ended up in hospital for 2 days. No one asked if we were OK, not even the manager. Disgusted, iberostar! Did go for a spa, the steam room wasn't working, apparently hasn't for a while. Then had a pedicure, the lady coughed continually over my feet. Didn't cover her mouth or wear a mask. Dirty cutlery on the table in dining room, food not the best. Asked for chicken, which was raw in the middle. The mattress protector was stained and dirty. We were told by staff that this bug had been going on for a while, another guest was a also hospitalised a week before. I also spoke to guest who was also ill. The lady at reception was rude and unhelpful when I asked about a later check out on our day of leaving. She said come back on the Monday morning. I asked her on the Saturday. I have photos of the things I have mentioned. A few of the staff were helpful, but, they were the minority. The people who should have cared didnt even bother. Shame on you iberostar, you are rated on your excellence, I never experienced this. Certainly wouldn't recommend. The sockets also cut out after using the hairdryer, told it had to be used in the bathroom due to more power in that socket!! Never came to sort the problem until I went and asked again the next morning, even though I had asked the previous afternoon. We came for our anniversary and it was totally ruined.

An excellent Hotel by ant standard
We visited Coral Beach in early November and can only describe this hotel as wonderful. The staff were really friendly and attentive. Service in the restaurant was of the highest quality and the food was to match. Everywhere was spotlessly clean. we highly recommend this hotel to anyone wanting service and quality.

Wonderful trip
We stayed here from 8th to 12th November, the weather was beautiful and the hotel matches. We had a wonderful time! We got the bus from Malaga airport which was really easy - the stop is right outside the front. The hotel is a 2 minute walk to the beach board walk - turn right and you are in Puerto Banus in 15 minutes. We stayed B&B and were glad we did, the breakfast was lovely and we found a different restaurant to eat at in the evening! There are some gems around, I would suggest looking on tripadvisor / any local social media groups who give the best advise. The pool area was clean and no problem getting a bed. My tip would be try and get a bed on the left side of the pool as the sun is on that side most of the day. Towels are given to you each day clean with no deposit payment. I took 2 a day to cover me sun bed nicely :) Drinks/cocktails were nice. Staff friendly. Rooms lovely size, nice big balcony. Would 100% recommend

Iberostar Selection Coral Beach Marbella
My wife and I travelled to Spain between October 7 to 17, 2024. We stayed at the hotel Iberostar Sellection Marbella Coral Beach in Marbella city. Let’s start with the GOOD: The hotel design is beautiful, clean, and very well maintained. It has nice fish ponds on the lower level and a sunroof. Nice trees and vegetation grow inside on the hallways. Another nice touch is the water fountains and crushed ice machines on the hallways where you can refill your water jug provided in the room. The rooms are very spacious, and have very large and deep balconies, this is the best feature of the room, the balconies with the Spanish design offering plenty of room for lounges but there is only a table and 2 chairs despite the large space available. The lounges in the balconies would have been a nice touch at least on the ground floor where we stayed since the pool is pretty crowded and you will not be able to find a lounge if you come after 10:00 a.m. The service is top notch at the hotel, from maids to waiters, reception clerks and every other personnel that interacts with the tourists. We choose the half board option for meals, so we had the breakfast and dinner included in the package. The breakfast was good, enough variety to choose from. The pool was nice, a little small for the size of the hotel, but you could swim easily since the large majority of tourists were adults, not too many were using the pool. There was a very good service around the pool as well, waitresses were coming all the time asking if you need anything to drink or eat while sunbathing. Another very good service was the towel service, you could take or exchange towels all the time up until about 2:00 p.m. in the afternoon. You could also use the towels to go to the beach and swim in the Mediterranean Sea, but the water was pretty cold in October. Now the NOT SO GOOD: The food: I could not get used to the Spanish cuisine, they cook meals and stews with many sauces. Except for the fish The meat contains a lot of fat even at the grill when you choose the meat to be grilled in front of you. They also cook a lot seafood like octopus, clams, calamari and other jelly type of seafood which I do not like at all. Even the fish & chips we ate at lunch in the hotel was mushy and small. And the chips were very finely cut becoming hard to chew, like candies. By comparison, we had lunch at an British bar & Kitchen called “FLUID” ordering also fish and chips, but those were excellent large portions and large fried potato chips. I couldn’t find a nice lean steak to eat, like a “Fillet Mignon” that I eat at THE KEG in Canada, in all the places I visited, but maybe I did not go to the right place. All I could find was a kind of steak, served sliced in pieces with a lot of fat and squeals in the meat. At the buffet during dinner, I was asked if I want anything to drink. Since our package did not include drinks and we do not quite drink alcoholic beverages, I declined. However, I asked for water instead. The water is free in the resort, however, imagine the surprise I had the next day when I found out that I was charged 3.5 Euros for the service of bringing water to the table. Another annoying thing was the fact that even though it was very hot outside, more that 30 degrees centigrade, the A/C in the room could not go below 22.5, sometimes not even below 24 degrees centigrade, no matter how you adjusted the thermostat. When I inquired, I was told that the A/C is regulated on the entire floor or the entire hotel, so any adjustment from your control unit in the room is useless. I believe that they were saving the electricity, but at the customer’s expense. The hotel is not exactly on the beach, you have to exit using your room card through the back gates and walk about 300 meters to the beach. It is not far, but the beach has a lot of rocks and pebbles, especially in the water. There were 10 or 12 umbrellas and lounges on the beach, but they did not belong to the hotel, they were extremely expensive rentals, charging 25 Euros per person to use them for a day. The Mediterranean Sea is pretty cold, so rarely somebody in the water. I tried 2 times but got out pretty quickly before hypothermia kicked in. No comparison with the ocean water in Dominican Republic where the water temperature is 28 to 30 Degrees Centigrade. All in all, except for the trips we made to visit the town of Ronda, which is beautiful, the experience we had wasn’t so good, it was average. For the price you pay in October the expectations we had were much higher, so the experience was far below the one we had in Dominican Republic at hotels of the same category. We will not return.
