Minor Inconveniences
5 to 10 minutes walk from metro station, going uphill on cobbled stones pavement. It is a modern style hotel at the north end of the tourist attractions. My room is facing the main street with residential buildings across. The room is of good size. The glass shower of limited privacy without a door is in the middle of the room, which cleverly save a lot of space. The shampoo/conditioner and shower gal are far away from the shower head. The handheld shower was not working and was fixed after 2 days. The light in the shower went off after a while. The toilet paper easily droped off from the holder which is a simple rod. The water spout at the washing basin is too short. There are 2 USBs and 1 US socket (see photo). There are 2 swimming pools, 1 inside and 1 outside. Basic spa facilities are free. Service is very good but some receptionists speak limited English. Price was a bit expensive.

Nice stay but not a 5 star!
I stayed 4 nights in Hotel Iberostar Selection Lisboa mainly for work (October 2024). This was the second time I stayed in this hotel. It has been a good stay again but overall a lesser experience compared to my previous stay from exactly one year ago. Good location in the city. The rooms are spacious but are also getting a bit worn out already. Bathroom areas are modern. I first got a room in the A-building but as the elevators made too much sounds it was hard to sleep well. After the 1st night I requested to change room and I got assigned another room in the B-building. Also the AC is very noisy. Stable wifi-connection in the entire hotel, the TV in the room has an easy-to-use chromecast feature to stream you own services. What I missed in the rooms were: a kettle, thee, hot chocolatedrink, milk and slippers. At first I found the housekeeping service disappointing, but it changed after I told the guest experience service about it. However, completely torn towels and tears in the bedlinen is not what you expect from a 5 star hotel! The breakfast is great, good coffee and besides the great buffet also tastful à la carte dishes. The staff at breakfast is very friendly and helpful. Hand sanitizer is easy available in the breakfast room. One of the main reasons why I had chosen to stay in this hotel again was the indoor pool and nice spa area (with sauna, steambath, thermal showers). However I was very surprised and disappointed when I discovered that apparently the rules have been changed an its use is no longer included for the whole stay, you only get 1 hour free during your stay. It is not fair that guests who stay for only one night get the same opportunities as guests who stay for 4 nights. These rules should definitely be reviewed. The staff at the reception is very friendly and helpful, although not all of them are able to speak English fluently. Special thanks to Nédia from the front desk who is very professional and of course to Soraya, guest experience manager, who is very service minded. Soraya helped me not only with the hotel-related issues but also gave me several suggestions to visit in the city on my day off. Much appreciated. Overall a nice stay but it doesn't meet my expectations for a 5 star hotel, or reflect value for money.

Poor dated hotel . Shabby interior and outside areas .
Not 5 star at all . Shabby room. Bedding old and not even made properly. Dated and worn out . We requested a city view extra price and we got building site shabby back of hotel . Bathroom looks like it's recently been refurbished. No kettle or tea bags in room or milk . Curtains not attached to track properly. We were right by the lift and the bearings had gone in the lift so everytime it was used it sounded like the london underground . Water filling station in the corridor, sorry am I staying in a hostel? Bed hard and unfortable . Requested to change rooms was told fully booked but online rooms available. Was given free breakfast as way of a soother which we very much appreciated. We said we wanted to leave and after much back and forth over a few days it was confirmed we would receive a refund for the days we were not there. Overall the staff were amazing but when we were in a rush to leave we left our passports behind some 4hours away our new hotel organised everything for us and got us or passport . Iberostar just said " they won't get them back before they fly home " Outside area is awful . See pictures. You have to take 2 different lifts to get to the resturant gym and spa as in a sperate building. You have to book the sauna etc to use it . Breakfast was good

If you love your bed probably not the best place to book
The bed in the room was not great - it was two singles squashed together to make a double, there was a large hump in the middle and you rolled towards the edges on both sides. Check in was very slow and we didn’t get into the room till 4pm (check in was 3) We booked a junior suite but not worth the extra money, as the lay out meant we didn’t use the extra space. Breakfast on both days way ok It was great to have parking at the hotel as we had travelled up from the south and were flying home from Lisbon Sadly I couldn’t recommend Completely different experience to Lagos. The location is however good. You could pick up a tour bus 5 mins away, the metro is 5 mins walk and the is an excellent service, we were both very impressed with the metro and great value. It’s in a beautiful area in Lisbon and plenty of luxury shopping on your door step if that’s what your looking for!
