    Overpriced very noisy hotel/ resort

After many Iberostar resorts over 20 years, the Coral selection was way to expensive for Canadians who have to pay in American dollars. Location was excellent, workers very devoted and friendly. Beds and pillows were not comfortable for a 5*. Room was very humid. Service was excellent though. Only one pool in adult Coral with very loud music everywhere, not providing any quiet places on the entire resort! I do not recommend this place except for parties.

    Fun and relaxing

My wife and I stayed February 7th - 14th. Ride from airport was quick. Check in was very easy. We reserved the Japanese restaurant right after checking in. You have to go through a bit of a sales pitch but it’s their job and she was a friendly. The dinner situation at the main side is not the best. We tried the Mediterranean one but the waiting list was full. The Coral side switches between buffet and off a menu each day. We had good dinners every night except for Brazilian night. It was very unorganized and we never did get offered all the selections. Other than that , we enjoyed all the food. The food at the Japanese restaurant was great and we had fun. The taco stand at the main side is good too. Beach and pool area were great. Unfortunately seaweed starting coming in on our last day. Most of our days had very little seaweed. Ocean felt great and the beach is perfect. Carmen did her best keeping up with everyone’s drink orders and was always around. Jesus was great helping with the umbrellas. The whole entertainment team did there best to keep everyone having a good time. My wife came in 2nd in the guacamole making contest. That was a lot of fun. A little unfortunate that there isn’t much to do after 9pm. You need to go to the main side to keep the party going. Super Bowl was fun there. Our room attendant figured out our daily schedule and our room was cleaned and turned down every day. Sodas were filled daily also. Team was fantastic. Besides the speciality dining situation and our Brazilian night issue , we had a great relaxing vacation and will definitely return.

Don’t come here if you want to be served dinner

Don’t stay here. You can’t be seated to eat dinner. Check in was smooth The room was clean The beach and pool are nice Bars are good But I hope you aren’t hungry. My wife and I went to all 4 restaurants. They could not seat us. They did not have a wait list. They all said come back after 15 minutes with the same story. No manager around to help us.

Great service, facilities and friendly staff

Service is top notch!! Saby-pool waitress, Luis-Zumba instructor, Israel-Prestige bar tender, Hector- Aqua fit instructor, Carlos-doorman all exemplary!!So enjoyed the “foam-bubble” pool party! Food, excellent. Nightly shows- great, especially Brazilian night. Going back next year will make it number seven.

Go somewhere else, maybe 3 stars

We are here currently. Huge disappointment. We will not be back and sadly we still have four more days here. I called the resort a month before we came and again two weeks before came as well as having our tour company notify the resort three months before we came that we wanted a king bed. Then a week before we came I competed the online check in again asking for a king bed. We arrived and were told we had two doubles but maybe in day three they could put us in a room with a king but no guarantees this would happen. Nothing says a romantic couples vacation at an adults only resort like double beds. We can’t get into any of the à la carte restaurants for dinner even though they have a no reservations required stance. You literally need to line up at 5pm to get a reservation in one of the restaurants with hordes of other guests attempting to get in. We did this at the steak restaurant, by the time we got to the front of the line they were full for the night. Tonight we tried the Italian. We were told to show up at 6 to get a spot around 7:30. We did as they suggested, got there and were told to come back tomorrow around 5pm to try again as they were full. We then went to the buffet in the Coral select section only to be told there were no tables because they were overwhelmed with guest whom could not get into the à la cartes! We then had to wait 30 min to get a table. This resort was not cheap however it is so poorly set up to accommodate the guests. We have not had this issue at Dreams or Royalton resorts that have a similar no reservations required plan. The buffet at the adults only section has great food but you have to go early as they do not replenish any of the dishes that are out, several are left empty for the entire time we are there. So basically if you eat dinner at 5 you will be fine but if you want to eat later, around 7 then forget it. The room is clean, nice amenities, the minibar is replenished daily and fresh towels are delivered twice a day, most days. There are several people whom are Iberostar club members here whom have shared their displeasure with how they are being treated. Thank goodness we are not members but even with the tiered service it appears being a club member doesn’t improve things. My recommendation is to go somewhere else.
