Relaxing and enjoyable stay/ 9 out of 10 stars

This was our second visit to this resort, becoming Iberostar The Club members 10 years earlier before the Coral section was built. Although we visit all-inclusive resorts annually (mostly Iberostar locations), we had our friends join us as they hadn’t been to an all-inclusive in several years. Overall we had an excellent experience and I would give an overall rating of 4.5 out of 5 (or 9 out of 10). The resort is absolutely beautiful, especially on the Coral adult-only side. I will share the highlights of our vacation as well as a few items that management should consider to bring our rating to a perfect score. Let’s start with the absolute stars of this resort, the staff that truly go out of their way for their guests. Carmen and Saby provided top-notch service on the beach and at the pool, ensuring my “Bubba” was always full and getting me some pain relief lotion to soothe my sore groin/ back after a fall at the pool. Jorge took very good care of us, always finding us a prime location to lounge by the ocean and setting up our towels. Anselmo provided excellent service for lunch and dinners. I will preface my comments by saying that I worked in the hotel and financial services industry for over 40 years, so I have a keen sense of acceptable levels of customer service. We rewarded staff generously with tips along the way, giving extra to those that provided exceptional service. I will highlight some of the improvements that could be implemented to provide a better client experience: The service for breakfast was somewhat irregular, with one morning waiting 15 minutes to be served our first cup of coffee. This is unacceptable as that is the only service that needs to be provided at a breakfast buffet (on top of clearing plates). The food overall was very good with plenty of choice, but the breakfast buffet needed the most attention. Kitchen staff prepared pancakes and crepes very early in the morning and simply left them under warmers all day. By the time we went down at around 9 am, these were inedible (cold and hard). I would recommend these be cooked per order similar to omelettes. Also, it was baffling to me that they only had a 2-slice toaster for all of the guests instead of an industrial style toaster. The kitchen staff need to be more attentive at refilling the breakfast items like bacon and potatoes as I had to remind them on ant least 3 occasions that they were empty. Also, being a steak enthusiast, I was somewhat disappointed that out of 6 steaks over my 2 week stay, only once my steak was actually cooked to my liking (ordered medium but steaks always overcooked). Although we had reservations for dinner for most of our stay as we are members, it appeared many guests were disappointed in not being able to secure reservations at à-la-carte restaurants. We really appreciated being given priority for seating since we committed a considerable sum to become members. The entertainment provided for guests was for the most part quite good. We liked the daytime pool activities and enjoyed most of the nighttime shows, with the exception of the rock show that we paid extra to attend. The music was very loud and not as varied as we would have liked. It didn’t help that a fight between patrons broke out in front of us, due to a drunk guest spilling his drink on another gentleman. The drunk guest should not have been allowed in the show as he was drunk and belligerent before entering the theatre. We really enjoyed the Super Bowl event with reserved seating provided with bottle service. We had a few other minor issues with miscommunication about restaurant reservations and having to follow up for our luggage to be retrieved at check out, but these issues did not detract from our otherwise superb stay at this resort. We wouldn’t hesitate to return to this resort, especially knowing those few special staff members made our vacation a memorable one. Rooms: 5/5 | Service: 4/5 | Location: 5/5 Rooms I would like to highlight that our 2-week vacation didn’t get off on the right foot, as we were advised by the Prestige Lounge staff that our previously reserved corner unit was unavailable due to “maintenance” reasons. This wasn’t true as I went to that room after check in and guests were in that specific reserved room. Why offer guests to pick their room at booking (in October 2025 by the way) if you will not honour their selection. Our friends also received a different room than the one they reserved. I think they thought they were being accommodating by offering us a rooftop room, but unfortunately this was unacceptable for me due to mobility issues as I couldn’t limb the spiral stairs to reach the rooftop. We accepted staying in this room the first night, but once we also noticed the air conditioning and refrigerator were not working properly, we insisted to be transferred the next day. Although we didn’t get the 11th floor we reserved, our 6th floor corner unit was spectacular. I did appreciate the Prestige staff offering us a complimentary pool cabana as a gesture of goodwill for our troubles.

    Overpriced very noisy hotel/ resort

After many Iberostar resorts over 20 years, the Coral selection was way to expensive for Canadians who have to pay in American dollars. Location was excellent, workers very devoted and friendly. Beds and pillows were not comfortable for a 5*. Room was very humid. Service was excellent though. Only one pool in adult Coral with very loud music everywhere, not providing any quiet places on the entire resort! I do not recommend this place except for parties.

    Fun and relaxing

My wife and I stayed February 7th - 14th. Ride from airport was quick. Check in was very easy. We reserved the Japanese restaurant right after checking in. You have to go through a bit of a sales pitch but it’s their job and she was a friendly. The dinner situation at the main side is not the best. We tried the Mediterranean one but the waiting list was full. The Coral side switches between buffet and off a menu each day. We had good dinners every night except for Brazilian night. It was very unorganized and we never did get offered all the selections. Other than that , we enjoyed all the food. The food at the Japanese restaurant was great and we had fun. The taco stand at the main side is good too. Beach and pool area were great. Unfortunately seaweed starting coming in on our last day. Most of our days had very little seaweed. Ocean felt great and the beach is perfect. Carmen did her best keeping up with everyone’s drink orders and was always around. Jesus was great helping with the umbrellas. The whole entertainment team did there best to keep everyone having a good time. My wife came in 2nd in the guacamole making contest. That was a lot of fun. A little unfortunate that there isn’t much to do after 9pm. You need to go to the main side to keep the party going. Super Bowl was fun there. Our room attendant figured out our daily schedule and our room was cleaned and turned down every day. Sodas were filled daily also. Team was fantastic. Besides the speciality dining situation and our Brazilian night issue , we had a great relaxing vacation and will definitely return.

Don’t stay here. You can’t be seated to eat dinner. Check in was smooth The room was clean The beach and pool are nice Bars are good But I hope you aren’t hungry. My wife and I went to all 4 restaurants. They could not seat us. They did not have a wait list. They all said come back after 15 minutes with the same story. No manager around to help us.
