    Return to the Coral

We recently returned from the Coral after a nine day visit in early January. This trip was the best vacation we’ve ever had and we have been to Mexico 13 times as you’ll see with other reviews the complex the food, the facilities everything was over the top but for us it was the staff who made this who made this so special from Fernanda at check-in to Stephan at concierge, our arrival was flawless. Through our 9 day stay Jasmine, Esmeralda and Liliana made her visit to the buffet special . Saby at the pool bar was amazing if you’re looking for a great trip check out the coral

    We will return!

Iberostar Coral is a lovely resort, the rooms are spacious and the view from the balcony is gorgeous!! The mini bar is stocked daily along with snacks and chocolates, nice touch! The service is great, we stayed at the beach and Carmen was the best, always there if you needed a beverage. The buffet restaurant was really good, many food choices as well as a station to cook basically anything you wanted! The only negative I have is the lack of coffee available on the Coral side, you have to go over to the coffee shop for coffee early in the morning, IMO there should be a coffee maker in the lobby or near the buffet for self-serve, there is an espresso maker in the room but not adequate for a "normal" cup of coffee. We will return!!

    Overall, a memorable experience

This hotel is in an excellent location and features one of the best beaches I have ever seen at an all inclusive resort. We stayed on the Coral side and are glad we made this decision. Our stay was for 7 nights. Food: we ate at La Barca breakfast buffet each morning and had a good experience each time. You can get omelettes and huevos rancheros made to order which were the highlight for me. For the specialty dining options, it can get a little complicated to eat at the time you want and I think this could be an opportunity for improvement for Iberostar. Other than the hibachi, you can not make dinner reservations in advance. On our second night we tried to eat at the steakhouse for 6pm but did not get called until 7:30. We typically like to plan our dinners in advance so this was a bit of a challenge. Also, hibachi is closed every other night so we did not get a chance to eat there. The steakhouse (La Parrilla) and Italian (La Horma) were both very good. La Barca does themed dining on various nights of the week which was a nice touch. Vibes/poolside experience: This was one of our favorite parts about the resort. The entire poolside staff was excellent from the bartenders to the entertainment. Shoutout to Peter, Ruben and Charly for keeping the activities going and making our experience a memorable one. And Eduardo for the sushi making and guacamole contest! You can play beach volleyball, cornhole, or just relax by the pool in chairs or on the beach. We spent most of our time on the coral side because we liked it so much. We made friends with other couples as well which added a lot to the experience. Rooms/ service: Incredible. Shoutout to Claudia, our night maid who wrote me a nice happy birthday note and laid out some towels in the form of a birthday cake and a bottle of wine for my wife and I. That was such a wonderful surprise and another highlight of the trip. The staff did an excellent job cleaning up our room every day and providing a top notch experience. The room was very spacious and felt luxurious. Nightlife: the main lobby on the main side was always hopping and everyone was enjoying themselves. One opportunity for improvement was at the Vertigo sports bar. There was a group of us who wanted to watch the football games for wild card weekend. Also, they call it a sports bar but there’s like 4 TVs. They had a “bartender” there at first, and I use quotation marks there because this poor kid was clearly sent up there alone on a whim and had no idea what he was doing. He then randomly disappeared and the bar was left unattended for a solid hour while we watched the games in there which kept sputtering out because the jailbroken fire stick was acting up. But we made the most of it! One the regular bartender finally showed up around 10:30 it was better. Gym/ spa: gym was very small, we only ended up trying it out for one day. It got very packed quick. Spa was lovely and I recommend anyone to get a massage and check out the hydrotherapy experience for a relaxing afternoon. Overall: would go again for the poolside experience, beautiful beach and excellent service! I’d put this at 4.5 overall for me since they could do better on the restaurant reservation process and the sports bar layout, but I’m rounding up to a 5 because the staff did an absolutely incredible job everywhere we went in every department.

    Incredible Vacation

My husband and I absolutely loved the resort. My far the best experience we have ever had. All staff are incredible making sure your every need is met. The room was stunning and the views were breathtaking. The food at the Coral Buffett was so delicious and everyday was a bit different. All the restaurants had the most scrumptious food. The pool was lots of fun with the entertainment staff playing games or music through out the day. We are beach people but my husband had a hip injury so we only made it to the beach twice. It was beautiful. I do think the resort should invest in more umbrella for the beach. We had the most relaxing and fun week and met some wonderful couples through out our stay.

    Paradise in Mexico

We have been to 3 other all inclusive resorts in Cancun, one in Riveara Maya, one in Puerto Villateyta & 2 in Cabo. We stayed at the Iberostar-Coral. We were on the adult only side. Our room was big, clean & the mini bar was stocked every day. The food was excellent no matter which restaurant/buffet we went to. The activities staff was wonderful and friendly. We enjoyed playing Bingo with Charly & watching Alex, Edgar & Ruben dance. We definitely will recommend that friends & family stay here.
