Lovey weeks stay
We had the most wonderful stay at Iberostar Grand Mencey. From the moment we arrived, we were made to feel incredibly welcome. The hotel itself is absolutely gorgeous, elegant, spotless, and full of charm. The atmosphere is both luxurious and relaxing, making it the perfect place to unwind. What truly made our stay exceptional, though, was the staff. Every single team member was warm, professional, and attentive, always going above and beyond to ensure we were comfortable and happy. A very special mention goes to Klaudia, who was simply fantastic. She made us feel so welcome from day one and genuinely looked after us throughout our stay. Her kindness, attention to detail, and friendly personality really stood out and made our experience even more memorable. We couldn’t have asked for a better stay and will definitely be returning. Thank you to everyone at the Iberostar Grand Mencey for such a special experience!

Not a 5-star hotel
No amenities in the rather small room. Never seen that in a 5-star hotel. Noise coming from the street and from the room next door. The room (with a distant view to the see) is small and very standard. No coffee machine. No bottle of water in the room (fountain is quite far from the room and seem to have only one per floor). Overall highly disappointing even more as the hotel is located in a beautiful building with a lot of potential

Big but beautiful hotel
Though we came to really like this hotel, first impressions were not good. There was no place to stop in front of the hotel and offload our bags, it was blocked by a small bus and the hotel didn't do anything about it. We were told to park in the garage next to the hotel, but no information about where to park or that there was direct access to the hotel from it, we found that out later. Coming in to the hotel, the reception was crowded and we had to wait a long time to check in. The lady in the reception spent a lot of time trying to persuade us to upgrade and to buy the set menu in the restaurant, which wasn't very nice. We asked about restaurants but were only told about that one and the bar. We later found there were several other options. The hotel is gigantic, and it took ages to walk to the room - again, no directions whatsoever, and we found later there was a shorter route we could take. All the said, we found that apart from the reception, staff in the hotel were fantastic. They were fast and courteous. The hotel was full, and we were really impressed by how quick the service was throughout - at the restaurant, the bar, the pool - despite the large work load. The premises are really beautiful, and rooms are nice. We had booked a garden view room and it was very quiet. We would recommend it - but would also recommend management to retrain the reception staff.

Horrendous- AVOID!
Our stay at the Heritage Grand Menecy was nothing short of horrendous and is, without question, the worst hotel experience we have ever had. I genuinely struggle to understand how this property is allowed to operate, let alone charge people money to stay there. From the moment we arrived, it was obvious the hotel is poorly run, neglected, and completely lacking in basic standards. There was an immediate language barrier, making even the simplest communication unnecessarily difficult. Staff made little to no effort to understand us, and instead of trying to help, their attitude quickly became hostile and dismissive. Asking basic questions or raising concerns felt confrontational rather than customer-service led. Our room was in an appalling condition — clearly not cleaned properly, with unpleasant smells, dirty surfaces, and a general lack of hygiene. The furniture and fittings were worn, damaged, or barely functioning, and the room felt uncomfortable and poorly maintained. Nothing about it resembled what was advertised online. The situation escalated to an entirely unacceptable level when belongings were stolen from our room. This is shocking and completely unforgivable. We immediately reported this to staff and hotel management, expecting urgency and support. Instead, we were met with indifference, excuses, and a complete lack of action. No investigation, no concern, no reassurance — nothing. The way this was handled made it feel as though guest safety and security are simply not a priority at this hotel. When we continued to raise issues, staff became increasingly unhelpful and openly hostile. Complaints were brushed off, we were spoken to rudely, and at no point were we offered an apology or any form of resolution. Management showed zero accountability and zero care. The facilities were also deeply disappointing and did not match the descriptions or photos used to advertise the hotel. Large parts felt neglected or unusable, and it became clear that the hotel is misrepresented online. Due to the ongoing issues, lack of safety, theft, hostile staff, and complete absence of support, we were forced to relocate to another hotel just to feel safe and comfortable. Despite the seriousness of the situation, there was no apology, no offer of compensation, no refund, and no attempt to make things right. We were simply left to deal with the consequences ourselves. What should have been a relaxing stay turned into a stressful, upsetting, and costly ordeal. This hotel is an absolute rip-off and a disgrace to the hospitality industry. If you value your safety, your belongings, your money, and even basic respect as a guest, avoid the Heritage Grand Menecy at all costs.
