4.5/5 - great hotel, would recommend
Good things: Good location Hotel clean Nice architecture of the main spaces Rooms spacious Reception very quick to respond to requests: hairdryer in the room, iron and ironing board, more clothes hangers Gym was good liked the indoor outdoor feel Pool area was great, really comfy loungers. Carlos was great coming around for drinks orders and often bringing free alcoholic cocktails. Room was quite possibly soundproofed - you didn’t hear your adjoining guests/ doors banging/ people arriving late in the night etc. Bad things: No English tv channels in room Room service good Luke warm when it arrived and bland - gave us the wrong order initially although did then rectify. Our choice of food at the bar we was not pleasant - beef and vegetables the meat was majority fat. We felt having to pay €20 per person for 1 and a half hour use of the spa each time you wanted to use the facilities was not great. We were not aware there would be an additional cost for this. Unfortunately our room balcony overlooked a road where the bins were. The hotel staff were regularly emptying the glass bottles which was really loud and the bin collections seemed to happen at points throughout the night which again was loud and woke us up. Summary: Really nice high end feel to the hotel. Staff were great. would highly recommend this hotel to future guests.

Iconic Building, Perfect Stay
We had an absolutely fantastic family stay at Iberostar Heritage Grand Mencey. From the very beginning, the staff made a huge difference with their warmth, professionalism, and genuine care, making us feel truly welcome at all times. Our room was wonderfully spacious, elegant, and impeccably clean, just like the rest of the hotel. The breakfast was outstanding, with a wide variety of fresh, high-quality options that we thoroughly enjoyed each morning. The hotel is a beautiful and iconic building located in the heart of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, yet surrounded by lush vegetation, stunning mountain views, and beautifully maintained gardens that create a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere. Without a doubt, a true oasis of good taste, comfort, and tranquility. We would gladly return and highly recommend it.

Disappointing return to a hotel that was previously amazing
Such a shame. This hotel has gone downhill since we last stayed at it. The (mostly) very hard working lovely staff do their best but this is ultimately a failure of management and investment. Our room had drains that stank, our floor lamp didn’t work, the breakfast buffet and “hot” soecial orders are always cold and the €155 a head special Christmas Eve dinner was extremely lacking. Cold food, poor measures and not enough staff. Very sad. We came here 8 years about it and were so looking forward to coming back. The whole place needs a major upgrade. We won’t be back sadly. Iberostar - you must do better - support your staff, add more staff and give the whole place an upgrade !! Room 467.

Great stay.
Overall a 9 out of 10. Yes, rooms are not new but they are kept very clean and comfortable. We paid 200 Euros per night an dit was worth it. Location is great and staff are very helpful. Food a 10. Our 4 night stay was great.

We had expected more based on reviews and advertisements poor value for money
We stayed at a junior suite, which was a good size and modern design. Bed was comfortable, but everything else in the room was poorly designed, and impractical, the blackout curtains didn't overlap or were wide enough so a lot of light came through. The bathroom sinks are completely open to the bedroom, so no privacy, and despite being a very large are there was no place to put anything, such as toiletries, cleaning kit etc. Also it did not have a trash bin. The bedroom had a recycling bin, but no trash can, so one had to use it as a trash can, specially since there was no other in the wash area. The TV was at a strange angle so it can't be watched from the sofa or the bed. Overall the room and hotel commun areas wee clean but the WC smells of mildew and public toilets are worn. There was trash left every day on the half wall by the entrance, and that remained there all day, every day. The steps to the entrance were not lit or marked so they were very difficult to see at night, frankly dangerous. The restaurants were very unwelcoming, no decor and cold ambiance. Overall we expected more and better for the price.
