    Loved our view!

Our room had the most beautiful view. We've stayed at many resorts in PV, and we typically book an ocean-view room. This was by far our favorite. We stayed in the newer tower and upgraded to a balcony with a hot tub. We plan to visit again and book the swim-up room. This resort isn't large, but it was just right for us.

Good Place ( not much vegetarian food)

Hotel location is very nice. Rooms are clean . Checkin staff is very accommodating. However the vegetarian food options are sparse.

Great visit, well relaxed. Had a really nice time.

We had a great time at the Hyatt Ziva and would definitely come back. There were a few high points and a couple low points. We were here during thanksgiving week and from what I understand it was a little more crowded than normal and there were lots of families with kids. For the most part that wasn’t an issue but clearly some people have no parenting skills and their kids got pretty annoying. Food onsite was good, and very plentiful. There is always an option to eat or find drinks. Some of the options were better than others but none of it was anything I would consider special. The restaurants on site were always very busy and wait times were sometimes longer than we would have liked. They seemed very unprepared to handle the thanksgiving crowds We went into town a couple nights and found some amazing food there. The pools were very nice and clean and the adults only relaxation pool was our favorite spot and it helped escape the family madness that was around. The staff there was always very attentive and friendly! One thing that needs to be emphasized is if you value your time and don’t have $30k laying around do not get talked into the 1.5 hour Hyatt club (time share) presentation. I don’t care that we got a free cabana out of it. It was a kill me now two hours of my life I will never get back.

    Would recommend. Here’s the lowdown

This is the best all-inclusive we’ve ever visited. Location: It’s about 15 minutes south of the Zona Romantica in town, which is the old part of the city that’s full of beautiful churches, town square, shops, and restaurants. It’s about 45 minutes from the city. The city consists of a big city with malls (Sephora, Hugo Boss, etc). The Ziva is on its own cove, so you don’t get non-Ziva folks on the beach (mostly). Truly ideal. Ocean: The water is nice and warm- about 83 degrees when we were there. Parts of the beach have a lot of rocks where the waves crash, and if you stand in those spots, you’ll get hit with rocks. Other parts have fewer rocks, so move a few feet right or left. The surf is real - but there’s not a dangerous undertow like Cabo. If you tentative around waves, it might be too much, but the kids we had with us loved it (7th, 5th and 4th grade) and couldn’t get enough of the waves. You can get beach chairs or rent a cabana for $99. The cabana gets you a waiter, a cabana with full size bed, shade, and two loungers. Heckuva deal. If you want regular beach chairs, people put their towels out around 9a. There are also baby turtles in Nov, which they release at night after they hatch. There is a bar on the beach as well. Pools: There are no deep pools, all shallow and very warm. There are a couple of kid pools and a few adult pools. If you want quiet, there’s a quiet pool (we never went). There are cabanas at the pools as well, but there’s music playing and it’s right in the mix… so if that’s your jam, then awesome :) The hot tubs aren’t a ton hotter than the pools, which is a little weird— but not bad— since all the pools are so warm. Food: Easily the best food we have ever had at an all-inclusive. Even the buffet is good! You have 4-5 restaurants to choose from. The Mexican and Steak were our favorites. We could never get into the Hibachi. Plan to wait 30-45 mins for a table in peak season. Avoid the Italian restaurant. Bars: The sports bar is fun and has karaoke. Rooms: With kids, nice to have a first floor room. Bad thing was that for friends on the higher floors, the elevator was slow and there is only one. I believe they are doing construction. Showers are good. Maid service is what it should be. Some weird towel shortages but no big deal. Seems like every hotel has this issue. Excursions: Do not book any excursions through the folks in the lobby. Total ripoff! They wanted thousands for a snorkeling trip and more for a jungle hike. Crazy. We used Vallarta Nature Trips and they were great. Find them on TripAdvisor or WhatsApp. Airport transfers from the hotel are also unreasonably expensive. We used Vallarta Transfer, but plenty of people used Uber for about $30. Other stuff: The hotel has entertainment every day. Most of it is awesome. The fire show is really cool. As is the pirate show. Some is weird - like a foam pool party for adults only, but the adults in it seemed to love it, so maybe I’m just too old. And the bracelet making was for adults only (although they relented and let kids do it). There are also drinking and eating contests. If that’s not your speed, easy to avoid. All in all, I’d come back here.
