The location is good with easy access to Riverwalk (out the lower doors of the hotel), and the Alamo is a short walk away - maybe 4-5 min. Overall I enjoyed the hotel and my room ( king bed:Pull out Sofa:Alamo View ). The view of the Alamo from my room was lovely especially at night when it was lit for the holidays. There were two obstacles that occurred - one was a marathon right in front of our hotel and we were only given 1 week notice of that event or I would have changed the reservation date as the marathon impacted travel that day in many ways! The other issue I didn't. know about was construction right across the street which appeared to be a new visitor center for the Alamo - what a mess. It would have been nice to know about that in advance too and it made the neighborhood seem messy. There is only one restaurant at the hotel and the service depends upon who you get. Breakfast Buffet is ok but things were not kept replenished. Overall I would stay here again but only after construction is completed and assurance there would be no event blocking the road in front of the hotel! Should have received a discount for that annoyance.

Love the River Walk during Christmas and the Hyatt was the perfect location. You can step out of the hotel onto the middle of River walk beauty! It was a perfect staycation for my hubby and I. It was also my first time to stay On the River Walk!

We chose to spend our travel budget at the Hyatt San Antonio Riverwalk because of the stellar reputation that Hyatt enjoys worldwide. Unfortunately, our recent stay was marked by a series of unacceptable disappointments and misinformation that fell far short of the standards we expected. • Room Assignment: Despite booking two river-view rooms on a high floor two months in advance, we were placed on the 4th floor with only a partial view of the river. • Heating Issues: The room heater was broken upon arrival. It took four separate requests before it was repaired, leaving us to spend both nights with extra blankets. • Room Layout & Amenities: The bed faced a blank wall while the television was mounted on a side wall, making it impractical to watch TV from bed. The absence of dressers and limited counter space made organizing our belongings difficult. • Water Pressure: The bathroom vanity had almost no water pressure, and while the shower was slightly better, it was still below acceptable standards. • Billing Errors: At checkout, we were incorrectly charged for valet parking for both rooms, even though we had self-parked one car (we drove in from Arlington 4 people 1 car) in the garage as part of our package and confirmed this at check-in. Beyond these issues, the most disruptive problem was the misinformation regarding the marathon event on Sunday. Management emailed guests a week prior, advising that we must depart by 8:00 AM or risk being unable to leave until after noon. I confirmed this information again at the front desk. However, when we attempted to leave at 7:30 AM, we were stopped by barricades just one block away because the race had already begun at 7:15 AM. We were forced to wait in the street for 1.5 hours until the San Antonio Police Department arranged for Hyatt guests to exit. This misinformation caused significant disruption, and I understand that some guests even missed flights as a result. This experience was not reflective of the quality and reliability we associate with Hyatt. I am requesting a formal response to this complaint, including an explanation of how these issues will be addressed and appropriate compensation for the inconvenience and disruption we endured.

do not waste your money here
only good thing about this hotel is the location. rooms are ok. do not stay in the presidential suite, the thermostat does not work and we had to wear layers of clothes whilst in the room to stay warm over the cold thanksgiving weekend. phone calls go unanswered. morning breakfast is terrible. never coming back here.

Beautiful hotel!
Perfect location to stay if you want to go on the Riverwalk.. Staff was very attentive and helpful.. Hotel is absolutely beautiful. Wanted to go swimming on the rooftop pool but was too cold and they didn't heat the pool water enough.. We stayed at the Riverbend suite and the view was amazing. Only complaint is the bathroom doors do not close completely which is the same thing with other Hyatt hotels and for the life of me I don't understand why they make it that way. Overall I'm satisfied with our hotel stay.
