Nice hotel for families
The hotel and location are great, it's located on the beach that is not crowded. The resort has many pools to choose from, very kid friendly place. Besides the food, which is basic at best everything else is great.

Great hotel for family!
Beautiful resort! It was a wonderful place to stay with a family. Our daughter loved the kids pool and slide. We spent the majority of our vacation lounging by the pool.

Gorgeous property, wonderful location.
We loved our stay at this beautiful resort. The location at the end of the beach was perfect for us. It was just the right amount of quiet, but easily walkable to Whalers Village.

Welcome to the jungle (w laundry)
Cons: The location is far from the access to central sightseeing areas and foods (fyi def go to: sale Pepe, JJ tacos, and also, make a trip to Paia fish market!). First room upon check-in had false lashes on the bathroom floor and hair on toilet. Rooms are dated ( as expected). Second room change, we were placed by a noise elevator that sounded like a constant on and off boat horn. Regency club was fine for a quick bite for the kids but at the same time, kids have already coughed all over the food. We fed the kids bagels there then walked 10-15 mins on the beach path for Acai bowls (that opened when it wanted to lol). The hotel itself needed greater clean up. There were plastic wrapping in koi ponds, pools, etc. they need to hire more maintenance workers, as you can see the ones already there were already super preoccupied ( hotel maintenance to staff ration was imbalanced). The fitness room was dated and bare boned. There was a guest blasting his speakers at the larger (not kids) pool. The staff didn’t address it until my husband and another hotel guest complained. The staff said he couldn’t do anything about it and finally called security. Then it got confrontational, where the guest didn’t listen to the security, and security had to return. They charged me a towel fee, but i made sure towels were returned every night. The guest service just removed it. So just double check your bill. As a guest of honor, nothing was offered to me. Which is fine but at least the very least put me in a clean room - and away from the elevators. Pros: A pro is the walk to Whalers Village for something to do other than sit by the pool. the JJ’s taco food truck is the BEST THING to eat there. Avoid the meh restaurants. The mermaid swim class for kids was incredible. Sara was so kind and warm to our two kiddies. The housekeeping staff and valet workers are kind. (However, You can see that the volume of guest turnover and kids require more upkeeping and Hyatt regency isn’t staffed appropriately to address needs.) Laundry room was clutch! You can always find a machine. Tho, some were out of service. There’s a robot constantly vacuuming in the lobby carpet area. So that’s maintained well! Overall: I would recommend this hotel if you’re looking for a mid range hotel with a kids pool- and laundry. For me, personally, I’d avoid. Room cleanliness and quietness is super important to me and this hotel was a miss. After 3 days (out of 7), I tried checking out early to move to the fairmount hotel, but Hyatt said I wouldn’t get reimbursed. You win some, you lose some. The kids had a great time!
