Quick get away for 2 nights
The hotel is very good, but a bit business like.. the staff are very friendly and helpful. The rooms are spotless and everything worked in the room. The only thing that let the hotel down was the lack of late night food available. I would say again though.

Fantastic hotel, all round
Clean, friendly, comfortable and helpful with great food and drink! Big queue at check in due to the awful storm, staff on hand to help get everyone sorted promptly and even handing out mulled wine to warm us while we waited! Delicious breakfast in the morning with lots of variety, and a little place card to put on your table so others know it's yours while you go up for food - genius, every hotel should do that!

Pleasant stay
Nice modern hotel, nice rooms, good staff including check in person who advised me a safe place to park on street overnight as I arrived after nearby safe car park had closed. On negative side bed was a little firm but i still slept ok. Found the room a bit cold and heating was noisy, but a decent hotel and would stay again if I needed to be near the university.

Lovely stay at Hyatt Regency.
We stayed at The Hyatt Regency for one night. We were in Manchester for a short break away and wanted a nice hotel. The hotel was lovely, really lovely decorations for Christmas and very welcoming upon our arrival. The check-in was easy. We were asked to leave credit card details so that a £50 deposit could be taken. The room was very nice. Roomy and clean. The shower was amazing! The room was quiet and we slept very well. There were refreshments in the room, tea bags, coffee and milk. It would have been nice to have some herbal teas available too. I did try to call down to the reception to ask if there were any herbal teabags available that evening but unfortunately the phone did not work. When we checked out we were told that we would be refunded £48.80 of our deposit. This was due to a small amount being take for council tax. We weren't told about this upon check in, and whilst it's only a very small amount we would have appreciated knowing. Even better, it would be nicer if this came off the room charge so that there is nothing left to take once you think you'd paid for all. A lovely stay all in all and we would stay again.

Hidden fees, discriminatory security staff, being made to wait past check-in time for hours.
Unfortunately, we were blocked from entering the hotel and made to stand out in the rain by security staff. Then, we were told our room was not ready (we arrived past check-in time) and to sit in the bar. We were given a vague promise that 'our drinks would be taken care of', but then the bar staff asked how we were paying. Our plans to go to the football game were ruined. We had to wait an hour and a half past our check-in time to be checked-in. We were then asked to pay an additional £50 deposit at the front desk, even though we had paid in full in advance. We were not made aware of this beforehand. This deposit has not been returned yet and it has been over a week (even though we were told it would be returned). This was not a good experience and I would not expect this from a 4 star hotel. However, the wait staff were very nice and accommodating.
