Wonderful Stay at Hyatt Place
My husband and I visited DC for 10 days. We had a wonderful time. I couldn't ask for anything more from the hotel we stayed. Excellent service and daily breakfast. Close enough to walk to White House. Bus stopped outside hotel for National Mall.

Excellent service and location
I stayed for 6 nights January 2023 with my 1 and 4 year olds and the staff was helpful and kind. The room had a foyer which was great for the pack and play and to park the stroller. The complimentary breakfast had a nice diversity of food. The location is central and walkable.

Nice and convenient stay
Clean room, friendly and helpful staff, healthy breakfast. Location is great, close to a lot of place of interest. Didn't encounter long lines for checking in. Friendly to family with kids. My 2kids enjoyed the trip.

Great location, pleasant stay
We decided last minute to come down to DC for some museuming and a night out--Our stay at the Hyatt Place DC/White House was perfect--great location near the sights; aptly named as it is only two blocks from the White House with its historic view from Lafayette Park illuminated by night. The hotel staff was friendly, valet parking a breeze, our bed very comfortable, and the free breakfast tasty --and all at a great price. We would definitely stay here again , and highly recommend it without reservation.

Do yourself a favor and do not stay at this Hyatt (or any Hyatt) hotel
Do yourself a favor and do not stay at this Hyatt (or any Hyatt) hotel: I am a biomedical researcher and I booked the Hyatt DC White House Hotel for Dec. 2-7, 2022 to attend a scientific meeting in DC. I am not prone to complain, but the hotel had no hot (or warm) water in my room and in the entire hotel when I got back from my conference one evening. While unpleasant, this is something that can happen for several hours, even in the best hotels. However, the next morning, the water was still frigid, and the front desk was telling everyone that the problem was fixed—but it will take time until the water warms up. When I returned that evening from my meeting, there was still absolutely no hot water. I decided that I would check out and go elsewhere. I asked for compensation for my 24 hours without a shower. I was offered 20% and finally (very reluctantly) 50%. I did not feel that I should pay for a hotel room that does not provide hot water. I was not offered a taxi to my alternate hotel, and worse, as I was checking out incoming guests were not being told that there was no hot water in their rooms. When I returned home, I contacted Hyatt Customer service multiple times, by phone and email. I was cut off in the midst of explaining on the phone at least half a dozen times, and one wonders whether this was on purpose. Hyatt Hotel management would not take any responsibility, and kept telling me that I should contact the hotel directly. When I complained that I want the Hyatt Hotel company to reimburse me—and all I was asking was for a paltry $85 further reduction for the one night with cold water—they decided that I did not deserve any further reductions to the 50% already given. This process took 3 weeks, 11 phone calls and half a dozen emails. Hyatt Hotels DOES NOT RESPECT its customers, nor does it show any interest in deserving that guests stay at its hotels. I will never stay again at a hotel from this chain, and I have already advised family, friends and colleagues at work to avoid Hyatt at all costs. I was very reasonable and offered them every opportunity to make things right, for very little cost. BUT HYATT DOES NOT CARE ABOUT ITS GUESTS. Do yourself a favor and do not stay at this Hyatt (or any Hyatt) hotel.
