Usually good but…
Summary of review: don’t book a queen double here unless you’re fine staring into another building. Have been here 3 times now. First two stays were great and fine (single king) and the staff were friendly and helpful. This last time I’m staying full 8 days, in the hotel room for the majority of the day. I had knee surgery and am supposed to limit my walking, and they put me in the room furthest from the elevator and just above the street. I asked to move rooms and they moved me closer to the elevator. Then got to the new room and was pressed up against another building, asked to move right away. They said no. Its really depressing to not have sunlight when you’re working in your hotel room all day. Angelo, bless his soul, asked me how my room was later and I expressed my dissatisfaction. He said no problem, I see a king with a balcony avaliable and we’ll call you as soon as its cleaned. Well they must have forgot about me because I went back down at 2pm and same lady (maybe Adrienne?) said nothing was avaliable tonight and I had to keep my same room due to housekeeping (I’ve worked hospitality before, which I why I didn’t lay a finger on anything except the bathroom soap in hopes of changing rooms that day). And then she emphasized she can’t promise me anything. Doesn’t feel like she wanted to help me at all. So now I’m staring out the window at this wall with my hopes brought up and then crushed. Really hope this isn’t the next 8 days for me.

Overall front desk experience was bad
Hyatt allowed their front desk service to dress up inappropriately - This lady is in the front desk showing almost 3/4 of her breasts hanging out for the guests to see. How embarrassing. Hyatt also charged me for my stay even though I redeemed my 2-night stay with points and award certificate and even though the lady that checked me out gave me a zero balance in my final bill. I won't come back to this property.

Hyatt Place Pasadena - Great stay
Stayed at the Hyatt Place Pasadena for one night to attend a meeting in the area. The hotel was very nice and loved the open space of the lobby upon arriving. Very easy to park at the hotel and what a great location. Very close to old town Pasadena and within walking distance to a variety of restaurants and shopping. Really loved our stay!

Not worth the money. More like a $120/night type of hotel.
Honestly not what I expected. Kind of disappointed with certain aspects of my stay. It was too self service for me and my family. We have a toddler and it was too much maintenance on our end for a trip.

Great Business Hotel in Heart of Pasadena
3-night, mid-week stay for work travel in a standard King Bed room (w/ pullout sofa bed/sectional, and shower (non-accessible)). The public areas of the hotel are beautiful, well-maintained, and spotless. The room, also, well-maintained and spotless (kudos and thanks to housekeeping!) The hotel was not busy while I was there, so all public spaces were not busy -- and the under-hotel, paid self-park was readily available with easy in-out access. Outstanding daily breakfast in lobby was free, with a wide variety of options for all tastes (bread/bagles/toast, donut holes, cereal; yogurt, oatmeal, fresh fruit (and other toppings); and hot options including scrambled eggs, sausage, pancakes or french toast; and juices, coffee, teas). Gym was sufficient, offering mainly cardio options (3 treadmills, 2 ellipticals, 1 recumbent bike, 2 Peloton-style bikes, & a rowing machine). Free weights & 2 benches are available, and a LifeFitness dual-pully weight rack w/ pullup bars -- but no circuit weight machines. Filtered water and gym towels are provided. Only one problem to note (and others have mentioned it): At select times during the day, bathroom odors from other rooms were noted in my room (510). It dissipated quickly, but was off-putting. Otherwise, the room heating/cooling system worked well. I also worked from the room, used an HDMI cable with the TV as a second monitor, and wifi for VPN was fast.
