Clean and comforting stay
Nice, clean hotel that’s easy to enjoy without any fuss. The room was tidy, comfortable, and well kept, which made the stay pleasant. The location is a big plus—getting to nearby attractions was quick and convenient, and there were plenty of places around to explore. Pricing felt fair for what you get, making it a good value overall. If you’re looking for a simple, clean place to stay that won’t break the bank and keeps you close to the action, this hotel gets the job done nicely.

I've stayed here several times over the years. Here is the rundown. 2019: room absolute dump, ancient, bathroom not clean, sirens all night long. 2025: 2x stays: junior suite great, room with club access great. Bathrooms a little old/dirty but otherwise good stay. I honestly thought they had renovated the hotel since my last stay (they haven't). 2026: changed rooms twice and then cancelled stay. Booked club access deluxe king. First room looked to be from the 1980s. Tiny/box like, old wooden tiny closet not built into room, horrible old gross bathroom (not clean, grouting grey/worn). Asked the desk why the room was 1/3 of the size of the room that was given previously with the same rate, and was given a same class room with bigger bathroom. Went up, it was slightly bigger, absolutely full length mirror but was ready to stay, then went to the bathroom and the seat was up and there were poop splash marks all over the rim. Took photos, went down, asked to cancel the stay, and they accepted it without argument. Strongly advise staying at the Greyson instead on 39th street (also Hyatt chain). Great location, similar price, but significantly nicer facilities which are consistent each time. This one is good due to GCT proximity, but i'd rather walk the 3 streets and not deal with the inconsistent old/gross rooms.

I will start with I would stay here again. Positives: The room was really nice, with very comfortable bed and pillows. Check in/out was easy and seamless. There are 2 entrances. One from the street; one from within Grand Central. Restaurant was nice, with friendly wait staff. For the dates that we stayed, the price was reasonable for NY prices. The negative I have is that the lobby/checkin area was very dark and could use more uplighting. It was a freezing cold day in NY, so having the access from withing GC was a huge plus.

Solo Stay
Wonderful experience at the Grand Hyatt. grand Central. Room was clean and bed was comfortable. Bathroom was clean and shower was fantastic.
