Experience at the hotel
Nice hotel, but everytime we went to the bar it was closed and also no water in the room and when I rang reception in the night was told they had none and could not help arghhh!!!

Disappointing Stay Due to Poor Customer Service
As someone who visits New York often this was unfortunately the worst hotel experience I’ve had. The staff was rude and dismissive during both check-in and check-out, and generally unhelpful when I had questions. Their attitude made it feel like guests were an inconvenience rather than a priority. While the room itself was spacious, it was not very clean, which was disappointing given the expectations for this hotel. I even considered adding an extra night at the beginning of my stay since there was availability, but ultimately decided to stay at another hotel due to how unpleasant my interactions with staff had been. If I had been able to cancel my stay and receive a refund, I would have done so. Overall, the lack of basic courtesy and cleanliness completely overshadowed what could have been an enjoyable visit.

Good location, mediocre hotel
The location is great - but the hotel itself is quite mediocre for the price that you pay... There was ~$80 extra that had to be paid per day as part of some NYC tourism tax, so factor that into your costs.

Don’t hope for a nice bathroom!
First time staying here. Travel monthly to NYC for work. Switched from Marriott to Hilton, and immediately rebooking all of my stays this year back to the Marriott. Room outdated. Toilet looks like they grabbed it out of an old bar - push/pull metal handle and all. Not joking. I will not stay here again. Staff was nice, lobby was somewhat updated. Rooms need overhauled top to bottom. Apologies no photos, I was so unimpressed it never crossed my mind until the toilet would no longer flush no matter which way you pushed or pulled. 🤷♂️ Also the shower was nearly impossible to turn on - pull the handle like you’re literally trying to break it!

The Hyatt Grand Central New York boasts a prime location, with iconic New York destinations like Times Square, Broadway, 5th Avenue, Rockefeller Center, Central Park, and the United Nations all within a 30-minute walk or less. Grand Central Terminal is conveniently located downstairs, providing easy access to the city via subway or train. While the facilities are satisfactory for the price, the staff's willingness to assist is commendable, upholding the standards expected from a global brand. Overall, I highly recommend this hotel.
