Mar 03, 2026A really pleasant stay.
The location, size of the room (huge!), comfort and cleanliness were all wonderful as was the attentiveness of the staff. No complaints at all -- we had a really pleasant stay. The walk from the hotel at Fisherman's Wharf through Little Italy and Chinatown to Union Square downtown was really special.

I have been staying at this hotel for work trips since 2022. The hotel customer service is always top notch and the rooms are always clean but the hotel is showing its age. There seems to be a light sour mildew smell in my room and my colleagues notices the same thing. Nothing overly concerning but it should be addressed by the hotel.

Mar 02, 2026Should improve once construction is finished, but there does seem to be a Cost Reduction Focus in the Meantime
Very responsive housekeeping and Valet Service. There is a clear focus on containing costs. There was significant construction and noise. The rooms need updating so it's understandable, but I would not recommend spending any business hour or weekend daytime in the room. The exercise facilities were solid. What Hyatt Centric doesn't have a lunch or bar service in the afternoons on weekends?

Great Hotel and Location for a San Francisco Stay.
This hotel is very well-located. Besides being very close to Fisherman's Wharf, it is at the Powell/Mason cable car turnaround, and it is a little more a block from Columbus Avenue on which you can access buses to Union Square or easily walk into North Beach and Chinatown. Also easy access to the #28 nus to the Golden Gate Bridge. Or you can walk the Embarcadero up to the Ferry Building and into the Financial District/Downtown. The facility was quiet and very clean. My guest room - 2 queens - was clean and quiet. Only downside is the immediate area has tourist oriented restaurants. If you want more unique food, you need to go to other areas using your feet, public transport or a rideshare.

Loved Hyatt Fisherman's Wharf which easy walking to lots of good food and attractions
We are locals and came to this Hyatt for a Stay cation, early Valentines 💝. The hotel is located to easily walk to so many places. While the hotel is slightly dated, the roo.s were updated, clean, and spacious. Staff were so warm and welcoming... so .any smiles. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves here and can recommend it.
