Castaway Cove - A Watery Pirate Playground
A new reservation system has been introduced to manage seating and attendance at the Castaway Cove and Garden Pool water facilities.
• Reservations will be able to be booked 30 days in advance.
• You will need to use your hotel confirmation number (listed below) You will be able to book ONE 2-hour pool reservation and ONE 2-hour Castaway Cove reservation per DAY of your stay.
• Reservations will be for up to 5 people, if you have a room that can accommodate more than 5 people please call us once you make your pool reservation so the hotel can adjust the reservation manually.
• Guests should arrive to Castaway Cove or the Garden Pool 15 minutes prior to their reservation time to get checked in and receive their wristbands(there will be different wristbands for each time and location).
• Guests may only use the pool furniture assigned in their reservation. To promote physical distancing, pool furniture may not be rearranged.
• The facilities will be closed down and all guests cleared out between reservations blocks to perform sanitation procedures.
• Please see the facility attendant at Castaway Cove if your party would like to use the hot tub spa during your reservation block. Hotel will allow 15 minute blocks per room to reduce exposure to others (subject to availability).
• All children who are not potty trained will be required to have on swim pants, which they provide complimentary if needed.
• If you do need to cancel your hotel reservation, please also cancel your pool reservation.
• Hotel will be sending you a text message prior to your pool reservation to confirm, if they do not hear back from you, your reservation will automatically be cancelled.
• No lifeguards on duty.

Walking distance to Disney & many restaurants. The small water park is fantastic for children 5 and under. The rooms unfortunately were terribly gross. I would not recommend based on that. The rooms are very outdated, which makes it feel dirty.

Great hotel. Location to Disneyland is perfect! While there is no onsite restaurant, there are plenty of options along the short walk to the park. Every hotel staff member we encountered was very friendly and helpful. Rooms are very clean. Beds and pillows were comfortable.

Another great stay
Another great stay at HoJo Anaheim! Why pay premium hotel prices when I get a better value at HoJo Anaheim? Clean comfortable rooms, amenities that matter like in room fridge and coffee maker, sparkling pool and hot tub, and my kids are grown, but the water park area looks fun. Small convenience store on site, a great staff that is always happy to help. Best part, an easy walk to the theme parks, closer than the parks from the Disney hotels. A Mimi’s next door, Panera nearby. See you again soon, HoJo!

Great option to be close to Disney
We LOVE coming to the Howard Johnson in Anaheim. This was our third time staying at the hotel and it's always a great stay. Obviously being such a short walk to Disneyland is a plus, but we also really enjoy the pool and water playground. Jennifer and Heather were outstanding to deal with.

Extremely Disappointing Experience – Poor Communication and Unjust Charges
I am extremely disappointed with my recent stay. Upon check-in, I was assigned a room on Level 2 in an old building that does not have an elevator, making it extremely difficult to bring up luggage. This crucial detail was not disclosed at the front desk, nor were we asked if we had luggage — a basic courtesy that should be standard at any hotel. After struggling with our bags and returning to reception for assistance, we were informed that we would need to pay extra to be placed in a room accessible by elevator. I’ve never encountered a hotel that charges guests more just to access a basic facility like an elevator — something that should be included as part of the standard offering. To make matters worse, I requested a simple 30-minute late checkout to compensate for the time lost going back and forth. This request was flatly denied unless I agreed to pay an additional $75. The lack of flexibility and customer care was truly disappointing. This has been, without question, the worst hotel experience I’ve ever had. I’ve blacklisted this property for my family and will strongly advise friends and loved ones to avoid it as well.
