The best hotel one could dream of in Rome
I cannot find enough superlatives to describe this wonderful hotel and their outstanding hospitality. we travelled with our grandaughter who is a teenager and we needed some privacy to her - this I mentioned in the enquiry . To our happy surprise we got a huge triple room that had a bedroom and a separate small room for the single bed. Wow what a welcome. The room was spotless clean, bathroom robes and slippers, they changed the towels every day and made the beds and cleaned daily . Breakfast was beyond all expectation - a supe rich english breakfast not missin a single thing that one would want . The staff was polite and very efficient. We loved coming into the breakfast room and being greeted with a huge smile - after one day they remembered what we had for hot drinks... a real personal approach. The reception were prompt and professional, recommendingt where to go, and assisting us with a city map. The hotel is situated in a central area - 5 minutes walking to Campo di Fiori, to Piazza Navonna and to the Pantheon . Just perfect We will definitly come again - I recommend this hotel to everyone.

Highly recommend!
This hotel was one of the highlights of my entire trip in Italy. The entire front desk staff, especially Leonardo were amazingly helpful and welcome! I couldn’t have asked for a better location being solo. The breakfast was amazing! I would definitely stay here again. I was able to walk everywhere I wanted to go.

A wonderful stay in the Family Suite at Hotel Smeraldo. Just bring earplugs!
We stayed at the lovely hotel Smeraldo in the historic center, during the last week of November. We were greeted enthusiastically by the front desk, where there was always someone to answer our questions, call a taxi or lend recommendations. We stayed in a Family suite, which has a separate entrance, next door to the main hotel - it was very nice. Clean, modern with recent upgrades. Plenty of space for my mother, my teenage son and myself. Having the popular Antico Forno Roscioli just across the cobblestone street, was perfect for my “always hungry” son to grab pizza, bakery items, etc. for on the go or bring up to our room to eat when it was pouring rain. The only downside of the lovely flat is that the primary bedroom is on the street and you will hear every single person walking the street below - whether they are a couple in a heated discussion, drunken revelers, crying children or a delivery man pushing a cart over the cobblestones at 5am - you will hear it. That being said, my son who was in the interior room down the hall, slept like a baby. He didn’t hear a thing. The breakfast is great - the hotel also serves pastries from Roscioli…get there early for the delicious maritozzi. There is a wonderful little coffee bar there too. Upstairs on the rooftop there is a delightful spot where you can sit and admire all the colors, shapes and textures of the surrounding rooftops. I’m sure this spot is even more lovely in the summertime. The hotel itself, is right next to Campo di Fiore, and walking distance to most of all the main sites. We did choose to taxi to the Vatican and Galleria Borghese, as it would have been about a 40 minute walk. And the weather was lousy. Across the street from the hotel there is also a fabulous little vintage clothing shop, if you’re into that. All in all, we had a wonderful time at Hotel Smeraldo and would 100 % stay there again!

Wonderful staff and location are highlights
We had a lovely stay at Hotel Smeraldo last week. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We really felt welcome. The rooms were very clean and well-equipped. The breakfast was delicious. They have bread and pastries from the very popular bakery across the street. The location was very convenient. We could walk to many of our activities and there are many good restaurants surrounding the hotel. I would definitely recommend the hotel to anyone coming to Rome.

Convenient
Our room was small as we stayed there for only one night, but the room was comfortable, clean and renovated. Excellent location. Welcoming, professional and helpful staff. Very nice breakfast.
