Loved it
We’ve just returned from a splendid week here. I can’t fault the service or the cleanliness. We particularly enjoyed the heated adults only pool. The infinity pool was colder. The nearby beach (to the left of the hotel through a gate) wasn’t appealing because of the rough sea and rocks. Food choices were never a problem. Insofar as allergens are concerned, I couldn’t see issues. Many plain fish, meat, vegetable and salad options were available at each meal. I’d return in a heartbeat.

Stunning hotel stay
Just thought I’d leave a quick review just returned back from a 10 night stay. Saw some bad reviews before we left for our holiday. But I can honestly say the hotel and the food was lovely. Stunning views and then bottom bar was amazing for sunset drinks. The food was tasty and lots of choice. I would say we found the Atlantico restaurant a lot quieter than the main restaurant. No long ques for the lifts and no long ques in the restaurants even though the hotel was quite busy. Rooms were very clean and the hotel modern we had a family room on level 2 facing the see and banana plantation. Very happy with our holiday and stay would return there to the hotel too. There where no fights for the sun loungers in the main pools we didn’t visit the adults only pool. I would say the infinity pool which is amazing for views isn’t heated so it’s cold but the other pools are heated. The entertainment was fun. Lots going off every night great music and the neon party was just amazing. Lots of music dancing cocktails (which are all pre-made at the bar so you don’t have to Que) lots of work goes in to the neon party 🎉

Standard high quality Riu hotel
Ive stayed in a number of Riu hotels both the Standard and the Palace level. I want to start by saying the staff are great! The Riu culture is certainly present at this hotel. Secondly, the entertainment on the whole is better than at other Rius i have stayed at - especially the bigger 'shows' - some of the local bought in warm up is variable. The three speciality 'restaurants; are more a 'themed buffet' - unlike Palace level, its all self service. The Italian had the best quality food, however the Mandaly has great Sushi! Rooms are large, housekeeping daily and always kept clean. It is an extremely accessible hotel if you need to use a stroller or motorised scooter - although there are some very steep slopes on the site. We did the volcano day tour via Tui which was fun - although the guide was vague on his facts. My firends did Siam Park which they really enjoyed - get a cab from the hotel its abotu 20E each way and the shopping mall opposite is worth a vist. There is a local shopping centre about a 10 minute walk (uphill); which has a Lefties (spanish Primark); and a good tapas bar. We found breakfast in Atlantico better than in the main restaurant, with good views of the sea and the staff there were great. There have been reviews here about similar offers each meal in the Main Resturant and that is true, but the variety is huge and you could eat differently each meal. Download the Riu App before you go: you can book the themed buffets on there - they book up quickly so do it first thing in the morning, and each request for service we put in there (laundry, blocked sink etc) were resolved within a couple of hours. Pools: The 'Adult Pool' to the right near the bay, for us was the best pool - no entertainment, always lots of sunbeds and quiet. TIP: We asked for a 'Quiet Room' in advance and got a view over the car park but actually, it was really quiet ... if you get a room overlooking the rest of the site, it is noisey until 11pm when the entertainment stops. The big let down for me (and nothing to do with the hotel) were the horrendous queues at the airport upon departure, for checkin, security and then customs. We arrived three hours prior to departure time and spent almost all of it in one of those three queues. I reguarly go to Gran Canaira and would happily return there, Tenerife was great for a first visit, but the departure at the airport was a real let down ...

Excellent experience
Our stay at this hotel was truly wonderful. The hotel is very beautiful, well-maintained, and pleasant. The staff are extremely friendly, professional, and always ready to help. Whatever we needed or asked for was provided very quickly, which made the whole experience even more enjoyable. The only small thing is that the room cleaning could be a bit more thorough. Bed sheets are usually changed every three days in most places, but here you have to ask for it. However, this was not a problem. The food is good and tasty, with enough variety for everyone. The only thing I would advise against is the meat served at night. My husband and I ate a hamburger on our last day, and we both got salmonella. The location of the hotel is quiet and easily accessible. There are several different pools, a lot of space, and multiple bars – simply fantastic! I highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a pleasant and comfortable stay.
