Visit to Riu Buenavista, Tenerife
We just returned from a holiday at Riu Buenavista in Tenerife. The hotel is excellent—everything is very clean, well-maintained, and made with high-quality materials. However, the location is quite remote, far from any “city-like” areas. Getting to places like Los Cristianos or Playa de las Américas costs around 15–25 Euros. If you plan to stay within the resort, though, it’s perfectly fine. Riu Buenavista offers evening entertainment every night, including shows, music, quizzes, dance performances, and more. The sporting facilities are great, with guided sport training sessions available. Our room was clean and comfortable, with an excellent bathroom and shower. The double bed was very cozy, and the air conditioning worked perfectly. The food is where things fall short. As an all-inclusive hotel, food and drinks are available nearly 24/7. Breakfast was pretty good (8/10), with a decent variety and acceptable taste. Lunch and dinner, however, were disappointing, especially for a 4-star hotel. I’d rate lunch at 6/10 and dinner at 5/10. While the vegetarian options, pastries, and desserts were abundant, the main courses (fish, chicken, pork, lamb, or beef) lacked variety, with only one or two options each night. The menu didn’t change much throughout the week, which was a letdown. Despite the location and the food, Riu Buenavista is an excellent place to spend a holiday. Would I visit again? Maybe—but now I know what to expect regarding the location and hope for improvements in the food. 😊

An excellent hotel
Fabulous hotel, we stayed three weeks in this all inclusive hotel. Rooms modern and clean , food excellent and drinks 24 hours and very generous. The staff are lovely and very hard working. The site is located on a hill which some may find difficult. Loved the sea water pool as I have chemical allergies. We will definitely return. Five Star!

Excellent stay
Definitely recommend, friendly, clean great entertainment, food was all very tasty and well presented. We went as a couple and got a free upgrade on our room for our anniversary, very nice touch the only down side was the view as we were at the back of the hotel but a very minor thing. It seemed to also cater for families very well aswell. We would definitely go back to this hotel and would certainly look to book at another Riu Hotel in other destinations based on our experience here, this was our first time booking a Riu Hotel and it certainly did not disappoint.

Fantastic holiday, 5 star - highly recommend!
Having read a few negative comments within reviews on here I was a little unsure as to what to expect from certain aspects of our holiday but any worries were absolutely unfounded as we have just returned from a fantastic ten days at the RIU Buenavista hotel in Tenerife. I honestly cannot recommend this hotel more highly - we have visited 4 RIU hotels within the last 4 years, all being of a very good standard but this was by far the best and exceeded expectations in every respect! It is absolutely excellent value - everything feels very new and is maintained to the highest of standards, the food is absolutely excellent (we found the main buffet restaurants better than the others on site but all were very nice!), the rooms are some of the best we have stayed in (highly recommend the two room family option which worked very well for us), entertainment was very good with something for everyone and the staff are absolutely amazing - the service they offer is that of a five star hotel and are what makes the place outstanding. A special mention for Paula and Jose who work in the main buffet restaurant who went above and beyond to accommodate any need we had at mealtimes and were so kind to our two year old daughter. The only downside of this hotel is the beach nearby is just a rocky cove with a little black sand and is not suitable for children but this didn’t worry us as the many pools the hotel had to offer were more than enough. A big thank you to the entire team at this hotel for such a fantastic time - we will be back!
