Dec 03, 2025We Fled Hotel Continental Palacete
We ended our stay early and left Hotel Continental Palacete after a series of disappointing experiences, for which the hotel charged us a one-night penalty. Noise from Hotel Staff: We endured constant, clear noise from adjacent rooms. We discovered this was from hotel employees gathering in empty guest rooms. When we complained, the management's solution was to inform us that the staff had "gone home for the day." They offered to move us but explicitly stated they could not guarantee a quiet room elsewhere, admitting the core problem was unsolvable. The Room Was Disappointing: The room size was acceptable, though not large. However, it was configured with two twin beds pushed together and dressed as two separate individual beds, which was unexpected and not what we wanted. The room lacked a modern feel, and our window looked out onto an interior courtyard that was dirty and unsightly. Proof of Poor Value: We moved to the NH Collection Barcelona Gran Hotel right next door. Our stay there was over $400 cheaper and included a pool, modern amenities, and professional service. This direct comparison highlighted the poor value at Hotel Continental Palacete. Other Shortcomings: The included 24-hour buffet was the worst breakfast we have experienced in 30 years of travel. The Wi-Fi was slow and unstable. The check-in process was impersonal, and the antique key-on-a-stick system was a daily inconvenience. The entrance also has a long staircase with no elevator and no offer of help with luggage. We felt we had no choice but to leave. A hotel that cannot ensure a peaceful environment and provides a poorly configured room for the price does not offer good value. We cannot recommend it.

Awful Staff, very small and pictured are deceiving
Front desk receptionist was very rude and not customer friendly. I do not recommend this hotel to anyone with an early flight or in general. The pictures on the website are very deceiving, it is very small and the buffet is awful!

This is the Most Wonderful European Hotel, the Staff were Outstanding and very Helpful, because My Friend and I get Around on a Electric Wheelchair and Scooter. They have a 24 Hour Buffet with Drinks, which is Outstanding. The Hotel is off the Square and a Great Location to getting around the City.

Insect on room and bad service
Very dirty, and receptionist service (at least the one we had) was very rude with no idea on how to threat customer during business as usual conversation/compain. Attached photo of insects found on our room. Despite advising this to receptoins, we were not offered another room, since appartently all the hotel was full booke, neither the hotel called a near by hotel to propose us a moving, neither they proposed a discount or rembourse for the not requested experience of sleeping with inspect. I will not recommend this hotel.

Hidden Barcelonan Gem
A beautiful hotel, lots of beautiful features, with the most comfortable beds. The staff were all lovely. The 24 buffet meant we were never hungry. It was in ideal situation.
