Nice Little Gem in a Quiet Locale.
Lifetime Diamond member here. This is Hilton property #138(?) I've stayed at. I had a convention event at the Point Loma Convention Center a little more than a block away. In the past, I stayed at the Homewood Suites b/c I would walk my display items direct from the hotel across the parking lot to the center. I ended up at the Doubletree b/c the Homewood was booked. I may end up using this Doubletree going forward. This is in a quiet area and has a secure parking lot. My room was quiet and comfortable. Staff was standard high quality for Hilton. No free breakfast, but I got food credit each day I was there. One of my kids and I tried the bar/restaurant in the adjacent building and it was good as well and reasonably priced. The only issue I would have is that the restaurant is in another building about 50-100 ft away. There's also a nice pool and a little game area outdoors as well, which I didn't use. However, it reminded of the "family friendly" locales I used to go with my family when I was a kid.

Not worth the price
Stayed at the DoubleTree by Hilton San Diego Bayside and unfortunately had a pretty frustrating experience. We arrived around 3 PM and were told check-in was strictly at 4 PM, even though we explained we had plans and wouldn’t be back until after midnight. No flexibility or helpful options were offered. Parking was honestly one of the worst parts—very limited, hard to find, and $25 per night. We ended up finding the last spot in a far lot and had to walk a long distance back. Meanwhile, we saw staff transporting other guests and luggage on carts, but this was never offered to us. Front desk staff were not very friendly or welcoming, which made the experience worse. The room itself was nice and clean, but small details were missed—our reservation was for 4 people and only 3 sets of towels were provided. Overall, not the kind of service you expect. I wouldn’t stay here again.

A great stay for me
I was taking a solo trip to San Diego to see my sister just for the day .When I called from the airport for my ride to the hotel, that’s when it started the great service! I called the hotel direct and asked for a pick up, I asked where do I wait, the woman that answered the phone stayed with me until I found that area and she said they’re on their way. I got to the hotel a little early thinking they’ll hold my bags until my room is ready and I’ll explore the area around the hotel. To my surprise, she said We have a room available for you now. Anabelle was kind, considerate patient made sure I had the best room available that I liked (which I loved.) the room is clean nicely appointed bed were very comfortable. The shower was great, hot water forever, and good pressure . It had a coffee maker and little fridge really didn’t need it, but it was there. It was on the second floor with a balcony that overlooked the miniature golf Green and Pool. I roamed the property and the pool and Jacuzzi area were clean. Jacuzzi hot the pool warm. I wondered around more and there was a ping-pong table and a little game throw beanbags into a hole. I don’t know what it’s called. They had a workout area gym. I didn’t use. Walked across the street to the marina love to see the boats. The restaurant there was only open certain hours, but wow, it was delicious for breakfast. I had very healthy yogurt and berries and then one pancake so delicious and for lunch my sister joined me and she had the Carnitas with rice and beans out of this world delicious and I had a burger was so good with coleslaw just not the same kind of burger you would get anywhere else truly surprising. My sister picked me up at the hotel easy to do. There was plenty of temporary parking in front of the hotel not on the street though. I didn’t have a car but they had secure parking for guests. I’m sure there was a charge for that. All the employees looked and acted kind . Taking time to answer any questions. Almost forgot THE DELICIOUS COOKIE THEY GIVE YOU WHEN YOU ARRIVE! I never write reviews, but it was such a great Experience I had to this time.

Comfortable Stay with Great Views and Welcoming Staff
Our stay at DoubleTree Bayside was fantastic! Check-in was smooth, and we were delighted to receive the classic chocolate chip cookies. The front desk was welcoming and even upgraded our room as Diamond members. Parking had a fee, but it was close and felt secure. Our room was spacious, clean, and comfortable, with wooden blinds that added a nice touch. The marina view was beautiful, and the amenities were solid. Walking around the area felt safe, and we really enjoyed exploring. We’ll definitely be back!

Nice Nasty
Poor customer service and lack of follow-up. I was told at check-in that I’d receive food and beverage credits after both guests presented ID, which we did, but the credits were never given. I reached out and was told a manager would contact me, which never happened. The experience left me feeling unfairly treated and racially profiled. Very disappointing.
