Holiday Inn Express (Columbus) | Mostly great rooms, mixed service
I recently stayed at Holiday Inn Express in Columbus and overall had a comfortable experience, mainly because the rooms were genuinely good. The room was clean on arrival, well set up, and felt modern and comfortable. The bed was solid, the space was quiet enough to rest, and it generally felt like good value for the price. A few staff interactions came off unnecessarily rude or dismissive, which is disappointing because it changes the whole vibe of the stay. Also, I was asked for my ID multiple times in a way that felt excessive and inconvenient, especially after already completing the check-in process. Room cleaning was another weak spot. Housekeeping felt inconsistent, and the room wasn’t refreshed as well as expected during the stay. Great rooms and comfort, but staff attitude and housekeeping consistency need improvement. I’d consider staying again for the rooms, but I really hope management addresses customer service and cleaning standards.

Ant Marching Inn
Ants Go Marching When going to bed I noticed a few ants on the nightstand. I got rid of those and noticed several more crawling up the wall and headboard, so I further inspected and found to Be a Whole lot more ants all over the headboard, wall and night stand. This is after my family and I cleaned and wiped down the room when we first arrived. It was almost as if they were coming through the woodwork. We called down to the front desk and almost without listening to my concerns, was ready to tell me they didn't have any rooms to switch us out and I explained how there are Ants crawling all over the headboards and night stand and we can't sleep like that so the representative placed me on hold. Then suddenly found a room for us to switch to. Mind you this was after 12midnight my family and I had to pack up our room and move everything to a different room and floor, reclean the room and still had anxiety sleeping thinking this room was Ant infested as well. The front desk clerk, was Katherine and told us to speak with staff and management in the morning about the incident. The morning clerk informed she was unable to help only managers so she referred me to call and ask for Jennifer Guy who is the hotel general manager. When I called, I was transferred to a male who informed me there was nothing he could do to compensate me for the inconvenience because they at least placed us in another room. NEVERMIND IT WAS AFTER MIDNIGHT, trying to go to sleep. I just simply asked for my nights stay back and he told me no because my booking was no refunds. Which I understand that policy if it was my fault for something or not showing up, however this was not the case. Once I informed him I had a video, he then stated his name is LeRoy and he's new to his role as the Assistant General Manager and would "try to get ahold of Jennifer again and let me know". He hung up and called back offering me 16,000 member points for a free night stay and insisted it would be in my account within 48 hours. I called back after 4-6 days, because there is still no sign of the points. When I called instead of LeRoy getting on the phone,he relayed a message through the desk clerk that, it still takes 24-48 hours and he did request it. It is now going on 2 weeks and I do not have those points, no call back from LeRoy or Jennifer Guy! VERY POOR MANAGEMENT!! Very Disappointed!!

Repeat Customer
This was our 3rd time staying at this particular Holiday Inn Express. It’s always been solid. Good location. The breakfast is decent and housekeeping does a nice job. I will say it does seem to be getting some noticeable wear and tear, especially to the room furniture. We haven’t had a negative experience so far, so we’d probably stay here again.

Billing Nightmare
Stayed 2 nights for a work conference; government job so tax exempt. Was still charged tax despite having given front desk my paperwork 3x. Hotel was charged to both my debit AND credit card. Still working things out with general manager 3 days after check out. Have stayed here in past years without problem; will not stay again.
