No surprise
Without surprise. It is a Holiday Inn with the pros and the cons of such brand. On the good side, the rooms and the beds have the expected quality. It is a little noisy but I did not have issue to sleep, even if I am very sensitive to the noise. The breakfast is good and offers a large variety of food

Terrible hotel experience
I've been IHG user for the last 12 years. This hotel cancelled my reservation without any notification. I booked this hotel two weeks in advanced. Arrived around 11pm to check in and the front desk lady said that my reservation was cancelled because they were overbooked (even though I'm Gold member). She said that sent an email and called me, which I showed them that never received an email, nor a missing call from them. I had to book that same night to a different hotel. They never helped me to book another hotel, just left me stranded.

All you need for your business trip
The area in which this hotel is located is busy, non-touristy and felt absolutely safe to me. Check in and check out was quick and efficient. My room was quiet, spacious and very clean. Beds were comfortable and a bit on the firm side. The rooms have a slightly outdated ambiance and could have used a refrigerator, but there is a free ice machine on every other floor. There is a convenience store just next to the hotel and some good simple restaurant options nearby. The Metro is five minutes away by foot. Condesa and Roma are 20-30 minutes away by Uber. Overall, good value for money.

So, So Experience
My girlfriend and I spent three(3) nights here (a side stop from a business trip to Queretaro). We were in town the last weekend of October and wanted to experience the “Day of the Dead” celebrations. The hotel’s location is okay (not good or bad) but was fine for where we wanted to visit. Upon checking in there was some confusion as to the additional benefits we normally receive (as a Spire Elite with the IHG hotels I often receive complimentary breakfast or a room upgrade). First of all they didn’t welcome us as Spire Elite Customers (which really isn’t that big of a deal to me because normally they inform me of my additional benefits). However, this time they didn’t inform us of anything. We asked if breakfast at the restaurant was included and were told that it wasn’t included. It wasn’t until the second night there that we were informed (when we went up to the front desk and asked again) that we could have complimentary breakfast at the executive lounge. They didn’t even inform us there was an executive lounge when we checked in. That would have been “good to know information”. As for the room it was sufficient for what we needed. The bed was comfortable and reliable air conditioning is always a plus. The bathroom was a like bit strange. Very low ceiling and dark lighting (almost like a closet that was converted to a bathroom. The floor was all one piece in that the shower area was only separate by the door (no ledge or curb) so often times the water from taking a shower would run out in the area where the toilet was (and not down the drain; I guess the floor was not properly sloped to provide sufficient drainage). The hallways were laid out very strangely and it was confusing to locate the room. The doors to the rooms were sectioned off into short hallways where 4 doors opposed each other. This carried a lot of noise. You could hear your neighbors coming and going, slamming doors, etc. Not a very good layout. The restaurant and bar area was good, not great but good. Also, beware of the ATM in the lobby; it has a huge service fee on it. I have used numerous ATM’s throughout Mexico and other countries in the world, this is the first time I really felt violated by such a huge service charge. I wish the hotel would a better job managing that and protecting its customers better.
