Jan 08, 2026BEST HOTEL EXPERIENCE BYFAR!!
I’m writing another review for this place because maybe the 1st time we stayed here we got lucky and received the ‘honeymoon’ aka white glove service treatment but NO, I was wrong. We stayed for two weeks and were treated the same way! We arrived at around 5am on 12/26 due to our flight being delayed for more than a few hours. Immediately we were greeted and escorted to our room without hesitation and without any compilations that sometimes is received at hotels when checking in. The room was as well kept, stocked, clean and comfortable as I remembered it( and this went on for EVERY NIGHT), 5 stars to the cleaning staff as well. After a nice long needed rest, my wife and I went to eat at the hotel’s restaurant called AZUL. There’s no way that I can express in words that whoever reads this wouldn’t believe it. All I have to say is that you would just have to experience it for yourself. Chef Francisco is a magician. I honestly don’t want to be giving such high praise for him not to go elsewhere but he can last with the best of them! Every meal on the menu is delicious! Usually restaurants have their go to meals, this one is the WHOLE menu! The location of the hotel has many great restaurants around and we chose every night to eat at AZUL. Not only the food is amazing but their staff! Dignora, Iliana, Moises, Yanet, Admeri… when you want to talk about an All Star team, well here it is! Every day, either for their delicious breakfast buffet or whatever time you decide to eat, they are not only here to serve, but they aim to please and welcome you with love. I have never been to an establishment that I have received such love and we have been to many 5 star hotels in various countries and not one can compare to this Hodelpa. Some of the reviews I have read for this particular hotel I don’t agree with but just like the saying goes about a-holes is just like an opinion, everyone has one. I’m not at all a telemarketer or get anything out of giving a good review but I feel people who have never been to DR and have no idea where to stay, please consider everything I wrote and TRUST me, you will not be disappointed. The ONLY disappointment that I have to admit about this hotel is leaving!

Getting a room was super slow, we made a reservation for a family of 4 and we got a room for 3, and restaurant service is horrible

The cantina in front of the hotel was playing loud music past 3am. It also smelled like himidity. Nothing more to add…………

Inclusive hotel with great food, service and ambiance
The location is great. The food is great. The staff makes you feel like you are at home. I will definitely be back very soon.

Terrible experience
Nothing works in this hotel, blinking lamps slow, very slow shower drainage, water goes out, causing a very slippery floor, loose grab bar, slow toilet. Phone does not work neither the TV. Authorities should look into this. Foreigners may stop coming to DR, because of this bad image. Do no try report anything because nothing will be done. Good luck to those who dare to register in this hotel.
