Beautiful hotel with a great happy hour. Everyone was friendly and helpful. The buffet breakfast had everything you could want. Was extremely impressed.

Do not use taxis booked by hotel! We asked concierge to help book a taxi for our trip to the Terra-cotta army. We gave instructions of drop off at north entrance gate but instead we were dropped off at a tour guide office outside the Terracotta Army complex. We were then forced into paying for a guide to take us into our tour. This is a service we didn’t need or want! We were driven to a scam and left in a very uncomfortable situation. This all stemmed from the taxi being booked directly by the hotel!

Gorgeous
The Hilton Xi’an is absolutely gorgeous. The lobby is already very inviting, a big spacious area, but very locally decorated in a typical Chinese style. Check-in very efficient. The rooms are really good, we had the Executive floor – the lounge was closed, but they made up for that by having an alternative executive lounge on the ground floor, with drinks and snacks, that we enjoyed a lot. The rooms are modern Hilton standard, with everything you would expect. Breakfast was especially enjoyable. They offered the usual “international” foods, but the Chinese section was really astonishing. Well, maybe you would expect that when you are in China, but still I was amazed!

Great Recovery
Arriving at the Hilton Xi'an hotel ,tired and hungry or not at my best to say the least, having to weight until 5pm for check in didn't make the situation any better. Que review time and at least an hour to vent. Fast forward 3 days and to be honest the hotel staff and management were brilliant and really went out of their way to make the rest of our stay well worth the less than ideal start . In hindsight pulling the trigger on a one star review was more than premature. Great Recovery and thanks to all the staff at Hilton Xi'an.

Upon check in the front staff refused to provide breakfast despite being stated on the confirmation. When pointing to the facts we were indirectly accused for lying. I have seldom been so insulted by a professional establishment and has to spend half an hour with the travel agent at an enormous roaming cost before the hotel agreed to honour the booking. No one from hotel management bothered to provide an apology and it was only upon check out they presented a piece of chocolate for the inconvenience. I expect far better from Hilton!
