Upgrade not honored
Overall nice location in the center of the city, walking distance to many great restaurants museums and shops. Friendly staff, however I did not like the way they approached the upgrades. I'm hhonors gold member for more than an decade, the night before checkin got an email that gave me the option to a skyline upgrade for an extra 16$ a night which I applied to. The day of the checkin the skyline room is available but now they askedme to pay 64$ a night and the front desk claimed they gave a me free upgrade to their deluxe room( which I booked initially and really is a regular room with a minor view of the highway) so I declined. I then discovered a hhonors colleague of mine checked in the same night and got a free upgrade to the skyline room. So not happy with this service.

Good business hotel
Right in the heart of Union Square and about a 20 min ride from the airport. Staff at the desk is excellent and overall service is very solid. The layout of the hotel can be confusing as it is huge. You will see homeless people around the hotel but nothing that different from any other large city.

Very dated rooms
Poor customer service. Everywhere else in San Francisco the service has been excellent. Shabby room in need of refurb. Tried to make us pay for an upgrade to a room we had already paid for! Concierge unable to help with local buses, we knew more than her!! Good location but heaving with people at a conference when we arrived.

Short week in San Francisco
Just two blocks off Union Square proper this is a very modern yet comfortable Hotel. The lobby and facilities are up to date and the bedrooms are cozy. We had a 30th floor view of the Bay Bridge and the business district. From the "CityScape" bar on the 46th floor there is a spectacular view of most of the City. The night lights are amazing during the holidays. There is even a night video display on the SpaceForce Building. Security was very good with doorman inside and out.

Business hotel, but great for families!
Although this is primarily a business hotel, it worked great for us as a family. Friendly check in, updated spacious rooms that comfortably fit 5, and we really enjoyed the grab and go. A lot of reviews complain about the area, but the truth is you’re super convenient to union square and it’s very safe.
