Disney visit
Nice resort hotel located in the Disney property. The hotel is a transformed Hilton from non-Hilton with fine upgrades. The pool area is a great selling point for the hotel. We dined in the restaurant which was good, fine food and lovely cocktails. Staff was friendly. Buffer options were plentiful. The coffee shop offers a great variety, staff a bit of a mood, smile you work within Disney! The shuttle buses run adequately to the Disney resorts which are a good plus. The one strange thing is that when booking directly you get 10% off food and Beverage. On itself a good offer but we kept getting annoyed that we had to say this everytime we ordered something, maybe install a system that this gets deducted automatically.

Great pool and amazing location
I really wanted to love this hotel but due to the noise level in the rooms I had to take a star off. I was contemplating taking 2 stars off, but we really liked the rest of the hotel. So the good first. The location is amazing. You can walk to Disney Springs which cuts down on needing a car/Uber. We had dinner there every night and enjoyed the live music and activities without having to worry how to get back to the hotel. The pool is also great, nice and big with a pool bar and good service. And we just enjoy a lazy river, so that was one of the major reasons we booked this hotel. And the lazy river didn't disappoint. The staff we encountered were all very friendly. I had trouble booking Universal tickets online and the concierge was very helpful and gave us some great tips even though it is officially a Disney Hotel. There is a little store that offers breakfast and lunch sandwiches and some other food items which was a nice alternative to the high priced restaurant. Unfortunately for diamond members, the F&B credit doesn't cover even the cheapest breakfast in the restaurant, so that was disappointing. As a diamond member I was offered an upgrade and unfortunately went with the Epcot fireworks view. Not quite sure why this is supposed to be an upgrade, the view is boring, all you see is basically trees. We were never in the room at the exact time the fireworks went off, so the view was just very disappointing. You can see the fireworks from other rooms, so not sure why this was rated as an upgrade. My kids had a pool view/Disney Springs view room and it was great, no upgrade needed. Now to the really bad part. The hotel rooms have paper thin walls. You can hear every single word of conversations people have in the room next to you. We had a family with small kids and besides the point that I didn't really want to listen to kids and parents fighting at midnight it was just really annoying that you also knew that they could hear every word you were saying in your room. You can also hear everyone in the hallways so if someone comes home late or gets up early, our sleep will be over. We always sleep with a noise machine, but it was just too noisy to really make a difference. As a diamond member I probably should have realized that the F&B credit doesn't get triggered by the parking fee, but didn't really think about it, so was surprised when it didn't get applied. I would probably not rent a car anymore, knowing this, so wanted to mention in, in case it helps anybody else make a decision on renting a car. We regretted renting one because we basically just walked to Disney Springs every day and Uber was available cheap and consistent when we wanted to go anywhere else. All in all I would probably stay at this hotel again, but bring earplugs next time.

An okay property but needs some help with employees
I can see where this hotel was likely the premier place years ago, but it is aging into an average accommodation. The water was hot, the linens were clean, the rooms were overall fine, but you won’t have a microwave in your room. If one is needed you’ll have to go to the first floor to use the only microwave available to guest. My hairdryer didn’t work so I asked a housekeeper on my floor for a replacement. She was kind and said all the correct things but I never received a working hairdryer. If you need to reach someone via the phone from your room, good luck. I wanted to learn about discounted Disney tickets so I pressed the appropriate phone buttons to learn more. You’ll hear an automated, customized, greeting providing directions but you won’t get to a human. I went to front desk and asked about Disney Ticket cost and none of the workers at reception knew. How can an employee of a hotel on Disney property not know what the prices of a ticket? They directed me to the desk directly in front of them, about 30 feet away, to talk to that person about tickets. Of course, that person wasn’t there. The next day I finally got an answer. My family has been to Disney World 14 times and we always stay on property at one of the Disney resorts. If readying this review as you plan your magical family vacation, If the price is better at this Hilton, then don’t hesitate to stay here. The pool is wonderful for families and you can walk to Disney Springs. I didn’t see or hear Disney World transports coming to this hotel so a call is necessary to learn how you get to the parks.
