Mar 01, 2026Disappointing weekend trip
The reception staff were not welcoming, in particular the male member of staff on reception, on the evening of Friday 27 February. After telling us there were no twin rooms available despite our booking, he the tried to hard sell us the breakfast and dinner. It felt very forced and unwelcoming. Not at all what you expect from a high-end hotel like this. The approach was rough and abrasive. The fold out bed we were arranged, given we didn’t get the twin room booked, was unusable, as the mattress was extremely springy. We had to ask twice for extra blankets when they didn’t arrive and there were only sheets (no duvet) on the bed. On top of this, the same male member of staff took no interest in our enquiry regarding a missing slipper that seemed to have been inadvertently taken by housekeeping. He was rude and walked off uninterested in the conversation. The two female reception staff tried to help but it was frustrating that we had to find it ourselves by walking the corridor on our floor with no goodwill gesture at all given the inconvenience to our short stay. The staff/management are severely lacking the professional welcome and support that should come when staying in such a hotel. Very disappointing.

Stayed here on sunday night with girlfriend. Check in a bit slow but given correct room. Suite was lovely which included club lounge access. This was great included excellent service lady there and great views. Definitely coming back

Amazing
Had a lovely stay in the Manchester Hilton, they gave me an immaculate room it was very clean and spacious. The staff were lovely and the breakfast buffet is great quality.

Room with a view
Fabulous room with a really great view, coupled with a delicious breakfast. I was attending an event and unfortunately the dinner was a bit naff and did leave me somewhat hungry, thankfully there is a nearby Sainsbury’s. It n the grand scheme of things though this didn’t bother me too much and It wouldn’t stop me coming again. Great location and helpful staff!

Great one night stay
We visited on the 13th Feb for my wife's birthday and booked an upgraded room on the 21st floor with executive lounge access. The lady in the executive lounge was extremely helpful and brought us some scones, jam and clotted cream which went down very well. We returned later on and had a beer before we went out, once again great service. The room was very clean and had great views. Shout out to the staff members who returned my mobile phone which I had left in the bar and to the concierge who at checkout was juggling suitcases. All in all a great service.
