Worst nights sleep
Worst hotel myself and mother have stayed in. We booked the overnight at the Hilton as we trusted the brand. The hotel is dated & unkept, my mother has mobility issues and the carpets in the corridors are unkept and starting to bunch up causing trip hazards. The rooms/toilets are dirty the beds are like sleeping on bricks, the mattress is resting on boards. Once checking out I tried to express to the staff on reception although she wasn’t interested. We have now checked into the premier inn for less the price we had paid.

Falling standards
This is a classic case where management need to sleep in their own rooms so they can really experience a typical stay. Our room was on the 7th floor. The bed was possibly the most uncomfortable that we have slept in (travelodge have better beds). There was a smoke detector which had two red flashing lights on all night. It was as if we were on an airport runway. Really unnecessary. The gap under the door was so big that I doubt whether it would act as a fire break in an emergency and let so much light into the room. The furniture in the room was in a poor condition and there was a desperate need for refurbishment. Apparently the last refurbishment was in 2011. The shower door was falling off and the air conditioning really didn’t work and it wasn’t possible to open any of the locked windows. We were sent a text message during our stay asking if we were enjoying our stay. We responded expressing some of our concerns but never received a response. Hilton used to be a sign of excellent standards, at this hotel the standards have clearly fallen and management are being neglectful.

Nice stay - Despite Slamming Doors
My check in process was friendly and my room was ready early which I really appreciated, only comment would be I would have liked more information about the hotel facilities… however I was told about breakfast. The room was clean and bed comfortable, however my lights did keep going on and off when I checked as well as random water running in the toilet at times. Biggest downfall - is the housekeeping continuing to slam doors all day, I was resting due to long flight and it continued throughout the entire day.. just slamming the doors it was really disturbing, so I would recommend extra care especially when people have there privacy sign on the doors - also can’t be good for the doors.

It was great anyway, but Marcia on Reception made it fantastic
This has become our go-to London hotel for short family stays in a convenient location with a great breakfast. We were already happy enough with our stays, but the inclusion of Marcia on reception has taken it to another level. She is the brightest, most considerate and sociable employee you could imagine, and a total credit to the Hilton chain: I am sure she'll be shooting up the ranks in a very short time! To summarise, can't wait to go back.

Good value
Good stay for a good price. Good location, good breakfast. All employees were helpful, warm, and welcoming. I don’t understand the negative reviews. Overall great value for Kensington. Expected nothing more or less. I would recommend without hesitation.
