1-week staty at Grand Islander
We had a 1BR unit at the Hilton Grand Islander on the 27th floor. It had a wonderful view, with a partial sea view and views over the resort and inland. The unit was very clean and comfortable and had a washer and drier, which came in very handy during our stay, enabling us to go home with no pending laundry. The kitchen was good, though it could have used a few more utensils and serving dishes. There was ample storage space and the living room/kitchen area was spacious.

Amazing views and tips for an enjoyable visit.
Enjoyed an ocean view 2 bedroom corner suite with 2 full bathrooms on the 25th floor which had a huge oversized lanai and amazing views of the mountains, and distant ocean view overlooking the Hale Koa and partial view of Diamond Head. The sunrises were spectacular each morning. The Grand Islander rooms are beautiful and modern. We appreciated the glass walk in showers in both our bathrooms which is really challenging to find in Waikiki hotels for those with mobility issues. A couple tips: double check the temperature of the fridge before a big shopping trip. The fridge / freezer was very cold and unfortunately froze and spoiled a lot of our groceries. Don’t forget to use your “do not disturb sign”, as needed. An unfortunate incident occurred whereby the one day we rushed out of the room with no sign on the door, housekeeping entered the room to clean while an elderly family member was still in the room showering. She was so scared and didn’t know who was in the room. Huge safety concern for housekeeping protocols. Another safety tip is to look up and be aware of your surroundings when selecting a pool chair at the Grand Islander pool. There are drain pipes on the edge of each patio lanai with random falling water/sand debris over lounge chairs during strong winds after rainy days. Safety concerns brought to attention of management and chairs were roped off for the day.

Sucks. Don’t ever go. Many other options.
Absolutely horrible! NIGHTMARE OF HOTEL MGMT!! First the island had a massive conference the entire hotel was reserved for individuals from the conference - pools, restaurants, bars, concerts playing at night that we heard and thus couldn’t sleep in our room on the 20th floor. That’s not the issue tho. That happens. The issue was how the hotel staff handled it. The management in particular. I first brought it to their attention that we could not sleep and the concert was too loud. They responded saying, oh ok, we will deal with it tomorrow. That response was said by them for each conversation to the next. Morning to night. Unfortunately throughout the stay we felt utterly manipulated, taken advantage of, made to feel as if I/we were so insignificant, and just ultimately disrespected. It sucked. I wouldn’t wish stressing there or the disrespect we experienced to anyone. I’m with my in laws and it frustrated them. Lord knows you never want frustrated in laws. The management never cared continuously kicking the can down the road. Continuously not addressing our concerns. My mother in law was the chief medical officer for the military here in Hawaii for a number of years. And this sucked. This experience really sucked. The concept never let it ruin your day, we didn’t for most of the stay. Then check out and gtfoh. Really sucked. The individual Daisuke Oshimoto - never deal with him. Just sucks the way they treated us and made us feel.

Newer condo building in Hilton Hawaiian Village
Spacious and new looking condo. We had a two bedroom/two bath. Both bedrooms and bathrooms were spacious and had refillable soaps, shampoos, etc. There are not enough elevators for such a large building so having to wait a while is typical. Staff were friendly and helpful. I will stay here again next time in Waikiki.

Best hotel in Hilton Hawaiian Village
From the very first moment we walked in, my wife and I felt truly welcomed, thanks to Lawrence at the front desk. He was friendly, warm, helpful; everything anyone could hope for when arriving for a vacation. We stayed 8 days and couldn’t be more grateful that he was the first person we met. Every time we had a question or needed assistance, Lawrence was there with a big smile, ready to help, 100 out of 100 for Lawrence! The hotel itself was immaculate. We visited other properties, but the Hilton Grand Islander had the best atmosphere and lounge, a perfect place to relax while waiting for check-in or even after check-out before heading to the airport, which was our case. We will definitely be returning and highly recommend this hotel, especially if you’re lucky enough to be assisted by Lawrence!
