    Traveler's Diarrhea and No AC

    My girlfriends and I went on a girls' trip to Mexico at the beginning of June and stayed at this resort. Pros: It is somewhat secluded and away from the hotel zone. I felt very safe. The rooms are very clean and the beds/linens were comfortable. The staff was also very kind and friendly. Some excursions were offered straight from the beach of the resort. It was very convenient. Cons: My friends and I all got "traveler's diarrhea" while we were there--it was awful. We only ate outside of the hotel on one excursion so we most likely contracted it at the hotel. The pool water was murky and didn't appear very clean (hair balls even--yuck). The air conditioner was turned off one morning and we were told it would be turned on again that night. Instead, we had a note on our hotel room door indicating that it would not be turned on again until sometime the next day. We ended up checking into another hotel that night as the heat was unbearable. We later learned that other guests were being taken to the Waldorf next door for the night, which was frustrating as we were never given the option.

    Thank you Javier and Deisser for good services

    We stayed at hotel Cancun from 6/3/2023 to 6/11/2023 and we are really impressed with the hospitality and sincereness of the hotel staff. I had a spinning training with my trainer, Javier Gonzalez, and a GAP session the following day. Not only had I a good working out but also we had good conversations. We had dinner at Asian restaurant and our waiter, Deisser Lopez, really took care of us. They are only the two staff that I know the names. But there are many other unsung heros that I would say, it's their concerted effort, we have a unforgettable experience at this hotel. We all love the experience here and we decided to come back again next year. Lewis Liu and family.

    Average resort. Not really worth returning.

    Rooms are very nice and beds are ok, but the service is a bit below average and the location on the beach is not good despite the barriers in place to help. The water is yucky brown. Never saw anyone in the ocean. The food is average. Finishes in common areas are worn, but to be expected with a kid resort.

    Amazing time

    Well everything was amazing when it comes to the resort except for the beach it was dirty in a way just the not the algae, any way they have a shuttle to the hotel zone you can go to the gaviota azul beach it was amazing 🤩. The activities are excellent thanks to all the entertainment team and Diego, Jesus and Frank to make our days. Food overall and room service was just incredible a top level experience. Drinks too Thanks for the staff and hospitality that you provided at the hotel.

    Decent, Affordable, Meh

    I will start with the good stuff: PROS: 1. THE ENTERTAINMENT GUYS - Paco (Frank), Jesus, Diego, Charlie, and the DJ from Spain. All incredible. They played great music, put all their energy into the activities from morning until night, and made this one of my most memorable and fun vacations. From aquafit, to movie trivia, to silent disco. Thank you guys. 2. The hotel staff in general had high service standards. Room service staff was amazing. All bars were great. 3. Reservations weren't difficult to make. And with a reservation, there was absolutely no wait to get a seat. The food also came pretty fast and was decent food. The restaurants had nice interiors with lots of patio options. Our favorite was Auma and the Maxal Taco station at lunch. 4. Not far from the hotel, BDExperience is situated inside the resort and their transfers were right on time. CONS: 1. We paid extra for a swim-up room which is SERIOUSLY regret. The swim-up was brutal. First, it was surrounded by plants and weeds so at any given moment, there were hundreds of massive bugs and lizards in the water. The tiles were falling apart on all four sides and looked and felt disgusting. The pool cleaners came once a day but within seconds, the pool was dirty again. Twice we requested someone to come net out the bugs and no one ever showed up. Do not waste your money on it. 2. The AC stopped working on day 2 out of 4. The communication around this was terrible. Some random guy was handing out flyers door to door and didn't share any details. We were told it would come on later in the day, then they said 2AM, then they said 5AM. In the middle of a heat wave, this was just unacceptable. The rooms were absolutely unbearable, as were the restaurants. When we complained, we were moved to the Waldorf Astoria, which is a fine hotel, but is not all-inclusive. So we paid for an all-inclusive, but did not have access to anything. 3. The crowd. This may be the crowd for you, but it was not for us. There were a lot of young parents with kids, business types, and old families. Not a very fun crowd. The entertainment crew did their best to engage people, but it was dead most times. There also wasn't much to do besides sit by the pool. 4. The beach. Ugly, smelly, lots of weeds, no sand.
