The staff took incredible care of us during the Kona low storm. The wedding went without a hitch; everything was perfect. Kauka, our wedding coordinator, went above and beyond to take care of us. It was truly a paradise and a shelter during the storm. After traveling for 70 years, this was the best experience I have ever had.

A wonderful stormy stay
We had the Road to Hāna booked for months for our honeymoon and were excited to stay at Hana-Maui just for one night. However, it turned into 3 nights because of the Kona storm. Our original stay/room was stunning with partial ocean views, clean, and super responsive services. The following two nights were without power in our room unfortunately (out of their control, the WHOLE town was out of power), but the staff was working heavily to compensate- letting us charge tech in the lobby, provided games, remained quick with services like fresh towels and food. Food was great, large portions and flavor. Considering how incredibly stressful that storm situation was, none of the staff were ever unpleasant, genuinely. They worked so hard to make us feel comfy and happy considering the circumstances. The rest of the grounds looked lovely as well, despite not being able to use any of it. Will definitely stay here again on our future Hawai’i trip and suggest to friends.

Amazingly friendly team
We only stayed for one night - taking refuge from a rare and unique Kona storm that closed the road in both directions … We would like to thank the entire team for their kindness and hospitality, despite running on back up generators - they went out of their way to ensure we were safe , comfortable, phones charged, well fed and watered and just by being really nice and welcoming made a quite worrying time so much easier. We would especially like to thank Kauka, who was simply outstandingly amazing and super kind . Really honoured to meet such a lovely person . We can’t give this hotel a formal review under the circumstances but we will definitely visit again when we book Hawaii in the future Thanks so much all .

Don’t overlook this Hawaiian gem
Such a beautiful place with a true Hawaiian vibe. Stayed in oceanfront bungalow with hot tub and it was magical. I can’t believe I’ve never heard anyone staying here before. Loved it!

Rooms are a little run down. There were cockroaches. Paint cracking all over the ceiling. Tried to be understanding given the tropical and wet location but gross. Location is great. Beautiful grounds. Porters were wonderful. Front desk staff could have been nicer.
