    Timeshare Scam

It sounds like you’re describing a hotel experience that turned into an aggressive I arrived early, hoping to check in as soon as a room became available—something most hotels are willing to accommodate. Instead, every guest was told they had to wait until 3 PM, no exceptions. While waiting, the concierge approached me and several others with what sounded like a friendly offer: a chance to see their “new hotel on the actual beach,” enjoy breakfast there, and possibly book it for a future visit. It was presented as a perk, not a sales pitch, so I agreed. Very quickly, I realized this was happening to every new guest who walked in. It became obvious that this wasn’t hospitality—it was a funnel into a timeshare presentation. I even asked the concierge directly whether this was a sales pitch, because I didn’t want to be pressured. They assured me it was just breakfast and a tour. That was not true. The next morning, after breakfast, the timeshare sales team came in. I declined repeatedly, but they kept sending more people—three in total—each one more pushy than the last. I was told I was wasting their time, that I wasn’t being honest, and that I probably couldn’t afford it anyway. It was uncomfortable, unprofessional, and completely inappropriate. When they finally brought me back to the hotel, the attitude from the concierge changed immediately. The friendliness was gone, and it was clear that because I didn’t buy anything, I was no longer worth their time. This wasn’t just my experience. For the four days I stayed, this was the number one topic among guests at the pool. Everyone was being pressured into the same “breakfast tour,” and many felt misled or intimidated. I’ve stayed in many hotels and have never encountered a timeshare operation embedded directly into the hotel itself. It overshadowed the entire stay and left a terrible impression. **I would not recommend staying here unless you are specifically looking for a timeshare pitch.**

    Lovely Experience

I had a lovely experience at Hacienda! The locartion is perfect for exploring Puerto Vallarta and very close to the beach. The atmosphere is very welcoming and the rooms are clean. Service was amazing, very friendly staff! Nemias was an amazing bar tender!

Loved this place in 2022. In 2026 I was disappointed - I will not go back

I was there in march 2022 for 2 weeks and liked it very much so I decided to go back this year (march 2026) for 2 weeks again. I also had a family member join me for 1 week (with her own room). Having known that it had changed so much since my last visit, I would have chosen another hotel. Here is what changed and I didn't like this time. - the quality of the food at the buffet was not great (except for breakfast), the oriental and seafood nights were NOT good at all. The only evenings I liked was the Mexican night and the Al Pastor nights. They should always have Mexican dishes (on top of others) on the buffet, we visit Mexico not to eat tasteless Italian or oriental food. - the service at the dining room was not great this time. TWICE I came back to my table and someone else was sitting at my table, even though I had left my water bottle on the table !! I had to ask people from other tables to keep an eye on my table while I was going to get food. - one night the waiters completely ignored me and my guest - they did not remove the dirty plates, we had to put them on the table beside when we came back with our desserts. - I always had to ask to have my glass of wine filled (and I don't drink much) - sometimes it took a long time only to get the waiter's attention, and by the way, the dining room was never that busy. - The Mexican night used to be fun, with tables set up around the pool, BBQ stations, nice decor, etc. and a beautiful show with music and dancers. This year, we ate inside, no decor, no BBQ, and the show was very short. - As for evening entertainment, there was almost nothing! Some nights there was nothing at all! The shows were boring, low quality, and they finish very early (sometimes 7h00 to 8h30pm) - at the beach, there is no food except for popcorn. They don't bring "food" at lunch time as they used to (hot dogs, wraps sandwiches...) , and they don't let you bring food from the "snack station" from the hotel pool bar ! I spoke to many people, their experience was the same, disappointing! If you stay more than one week, the menu is the same week after week. So people often go out to eat. There are great restaurants near by and specially on the Malecon. As for me, who likes to go the PV, next time I will not go back to that resort.
