Outstanding Mexican charm experience...all the staff 11/10...couldn't be better...bartenders at pool and beach excellent as were all the wait staff, front desk, room cleaners...all 11/10...rooms comfortable, clean and quiet...great location...Thanksgiving Dinner the best and the Sabores de Mexico with Alfredo Bobadilla and Captain Jesus outstanding..

Great food and service
The food was delicious, we had the pleasure of trying to new menu. Loved the Hacienda Salad and the Mahi mahi. Our server, Alfredo, was very attentive and thoughtful about our food allergies. The hostess, Monserrath, was timely and organized.

Dec 01, 2025Not the worst, but wouldn't stay here again
Unfortunately, this hotel did not live up to the photos. The room I was initially given had lights that didn't work and they weren't able to move us until the next day. So we were expected to sit in the dark for a day. The bathroom was really bad - the toilet handle was like a public restroom. The bathroom itself was just really unsightly. The location is close to the beach and marina, so that was nice. The staff was pretty friendly and professional. The bartenders in particular were all really nice and accommodating (they make a great paloma too!). They didn't seem to have staff dedicated to keeping the pool area clean. So there were often empty cups left all over and food trays with food just randomly around the pool. The food at the buffet was decent, it did the trick.

Great time nice little downtown hotel lots of things to do with in walking distance
The staff are really pleasant and helpful Carlos from the pool bar was the best always remembered what we were drinking even brought are food to us was supper friendly

Happy with Hacienda Buenaventura for the most part. It is clean and a ton of hot water. The shower and sink are not plugged up (many others are and have 4 star ratings) . Grounds and pool are well kept. A few iguanas walking around in the heat of the day. All the staff are attentive, making me feel comfortable on this vacation. The main buffet has limited selection, but that is, I think one of reasons for the three star rating. The al a carte is worth booking for an upgrade to the buffet. The pool and grounds are well kept. This hotel is not on the beach. You have to walk about 5-10 min to the beach. No bathrooms there, but drinks, umbrellas and lounge chairs. Really...I have been in worse 4 stars! I stayed, just for the week.
