    Great resort

    We are current here in Punta Cana at this beautiful resort. We were here 13 years ago and there have been many changes. Wifi is great everywhere you go on this property, even the beach. The food is excellent buffets are great we only went to one a la carts so far and it was very good. You just have to know how to order your steaks. Mine was delicious and someone else in our groups was t cooked enough. Beach- beautiful. It’s windy this week but that didn’t keep us out of the ocean. There are a few games on the beach but we stay away from that. Bbq on the beach is delicious. Rooms - very clean. The building we were in must be. CLose to the septic system because you could smell it more days than not. But that can’t be helped. Food- lots of everything and the resort is full Entertainment- top notch Kids- this is definitely a family resort lots of kids and the water park is great!! One ride is a bit dangerous. We called it the toilet bowl and you fall very hard from the swirly thing into the pool but this park has everything!!! Food, water slides, chairs, shade, bathrooms, lockers. Pools- we are more beach people than pool people but couldn’t find a pool that wasn’t either two feet or seven. Not like most resorts where there’s a pool waist/chest deep that you can cool off in. Overall a definite four leaning toward a five star.

    Very nice place, delicious food, so many bars, restaurants. There is friendly staff: Alexa is very nice and willing lady - she made a reservation for a la carte restaurant very quickly :-) We are looking forward to visit this place once againg

    A very happy family !

    Well we had a ball! Arrived Jan 16th for 2weeks Pool was cleaned everyday, room was cleaned regularly, buffet has so much choice ! We tried most restaurants, daughters (13,10) loved the Italian, we loved the Brazilian & Beach Dinner! Staff fall over themselves to help! Beach is literally on the hotel grounds ! We seen a couple get married on the beach….& ended up doing the same! Stephany the wedding manager did EVERYTHING! It was amazing, DEFINELTY the highlight of my holiday, the hotel photographer Deyanira caught the moments perfectly ! I’m baffled by the negative reviews…can’t wait to go back!

    Don’t let the grounds fool you

    Nice grounds but do t let that fool you. My family was here on Jan 21 we initially were taken in by the beauty of this place but it slowly showed it’s true colours. We had a water leak on day one in the room I reported it and by day 3 it was still not fixed. My kids had no blankets or pillows which I ordered on day 1 and I was in a family suite but by day 3 it was not complete. It seems like the soul focus is to get you into one of these ultimate club meetings so that they can try and exploit 50k from you and waste a whole day of your vacation. On my last night I went for a walk with a friend on the beach and was attacked by a pack of dogs one bit me on the leg and drew blood I reported it the next morning and the manager said it looked like I fell I kid you not that is all he said. The pool and beach are next to impossible to find a spot unless you are up and out by 630am and I was not impressed by the pool itself the swim up bar is 10 times to small and the layout of the resort is stretched out so much you will wear out a set of shoes. Al in all I give this place a 1out of 10 and I do a lot of travelling so a poor review like this is not common

    Good Resort, but...

    This was out 19th trip to Punta Cana, so for variety we decided to go to Sirenis, second time since 2005. We had in general a good time, however there were some drawbacks, and the negative reviews here proved to be true. It all depends whether they are important to you, and you can find faults in every resort. Following are our comments: GROUNDS: Beautiful, clean gardens, nice lobby, nicely decorated and constantly cleaned. Resort is a bit disjointed . Plaza theatre, sports bar, coffee bar, gym all are outside of the main entrance. Straight walkway towards the beach is very nice, dividing resort in two sections/sides. Lobby had good modern clean washrooms with soap and paper towels always available. ROOM: Spacious, well appointed, one king bed, sofa, and a balcony. Everything worked well. Flat screen TV was big and had sufficient number of channels - mostly Spanish. Bed was comfortable and room was quiet at night, so we could have good sleep. The only drawback was lack of privacy as the balcony had lattice dividers between rooms instead of solid walls. Two days out of seven we did not get the room cleaned by 5 pm, at which point we just put a "do not disturb" sign as it was too late for us to be bothered. We had no problems with towels and constantly had 4, even that there were only two of us. WIFI/ INTERNET: Available everywhere for unlimited number of devices and without password. FOOD/RESTAURANTS: We mainly ate at one of the two buffet restaurant and only once at Japanese à la carte, which was good. It seems we could have as many reservations as we liked, but we were not really interested. Buffet restaurants are spacious with good layout. Real cloth napkins are provided at all meals. Service however was poor, with few exceptions. Staff did not clean dirty dishes fast enough, and was not attentive. There were times when it was hard to find a set up table for a meal and restaurant was half empty. For some unknown reason they asked people for their room numbers at the entrance which created unnecessary bottlenecks. Restaurants are air conditioned and many times it felt too cold. There were also a limited number of outdoor seating on the patio, but they were always full. The layout of the food serving stations was bad. It did not follow any logic or common sense. The stations like omelet or pasta were constantly crowded with people, blocking access for others to other dishes. Numerous dishes did not have labels, or labels were misplaced and numerous dishes did not have serving utensils causing cross contamination. The snack restaurant by the pool had the same issues, and the service there was even worse. The beach barbecue hut had poor choices and there was no seating there. There was an option to order pizza to go, but it was poorly advertised and hard to find. Besides, the pizzas did not look that great. BARS: Average quality of drinks, better in the lobby bar. Bars were generally overcrowded and service was not efficient enough. Barmen not very enthusiastic. Beach bar and swim up bar had constant lineups to get a drink. Felt like lining up for Starbucks coffee at Toronto airport. The swim up bar was a joke. Small, overcrowded with people and their kids. POOLS: The main pool is way too shallow to be called the main pool. It is great for kids as the depth gradually increases from zero to about 1m at the deepest end. I would rather call it a kids pool not a main pool. Why is there a swim up bar there? There are two other pools interconnected to kids pool, but they are all 2 m deep. One is hardly used, as it is at the VIP section of the resort and access is restricted to other guests. The whole pool arrangement needs total redesign and rebuild. WATER PARK: Water park is a nice 5 min walk from lobby, and is actually very good. It has 3 sections: small children, school age children and "dare devils" section ending in three different pools. There is a snack bar and a drink bar there. COFFEE SHOP: Coffee shop, so praised by others, was disappointing. Coffee was served from the automatic dispensers and tasted like syrup. You had to ask specifically for espresso machine to get something decent. The pastries were limited to a selection of doughnuts. BEACH: Beach was good, not great. Beach chairs were relatively easy to find. The morning race to reserve chairs is existent, but mostly for under the “palapas”. There is no snorkeling available off the beach. Good for walks for few kilometers each way. The vendors were almost nonexistent. The biggest drawback was lack of water sports and "beach action" like parasailing, banana boat rides etc. The water sports centre had just few kayaks, even that the sailing, windsurfing were advertised on hotel website. We found that the beach around Bavaro area is better, but it could be a matter of personal preference. ENTERTAINMENT: The animation crew was quite lively and they did a decent job. There were number of activities during the day, even that not of a high quality. The schedule was often not followed and the daily program was hard to find. The "app" does not provide required information, neither do the touch screens at numerous locations. Descriptions like "evening show" do not mean anything. The only place with proper information was at the sports bar, but it is in a hidden place, away from common foot traffic. Almost every evening there was a good live band in the lobby, or a solo singer from 7:30 to about 9:00. It was nice to listen to a good music or do some dancing. The band also played a few times in the Plaza theatre, alternating with karaoke, but it started at 10:30 pm which was too late for us. EVENING SHOWS: The shows were average, typical to other resorts. Majority were performed by the animation crew like in the old days. Theatre is a bit hidden and the path to it is narrow and elevated. Falls are possible to happen, especially at night. There are plenty of seats in the theatre and there is a bar. The sound system was good, lighting not so good. Overall we come to DR with open mind and made the best of our vacation time, especially that the weather was fantastic for the whole week. We still prefer beach at Bavaro area though, and will not return to Sirenis unless swimming pools are rebuild and the water sports brought back.
